@doomownage94 This is the normal cadenza (non-ossia) which is in the Horowitz and Argerich recordings. Rachmaninoff himself preferred this cadenza and performed this version in his recordings. However other pianists prefer the Ossia version during recordings and performances which was also written by Rachmaninoff himself.
For anyone who thinks it's been sped up - you're on crack. An obvious sign that it hasn't been is that the pads move normally. Had it been sped up, he would have been pedalling very slowly in order to achieve a "normal speed" look. And if he would have taken the time to do two video recordings (one for the pads and another for the playing), he would have put in so much effort that it'd been more than actually playing the piece at this speed.
I totally agree. Except maybe for anyone who thinks it's sped up is actually on weed - that would everything seem like it's going all slow, which would make this guy's playing seem fast. Crack would make you think it's been slowed down - cuz that drug speeds everything up.
@MrSamc94 I've tried the ossia version but I didn't practise it enough to play it smoothly, but I suppose I could learn it. And I'm honestly not so sure how long it took to learn- perhaps a number of months, but it's a little hazy.
Audio engineer or not, as a pianist and composer I can tell you that this recording is exactly at concert pitch and in the correct register. Congrats to the pianist, excellent work playing this!
great performance. this was not sped up idiot commentators. all notes are correct. get a machine to measure the pitch of each note you useless audio engineer.
@musicfreak42 Being an audio engineer you should be able to tell that this was recorded with my crappy camera- check my other piano videos and you will find that they sound the same. And as to the notes being 'not played in the right key'- check the other YouTube videos and you will hear that these are indeed the same notes.
@musicfreak42 It's easy to make that mistake because of the quality of the camera, but alas I have seen him play this to me live at the same speed and accuracy so I have to disagree with you for now.
I hate those who say that some videos (Richter, Lisitsa etc) are accelerated; but this one seems like it is, because of the way the sound of the piano disappears much faster than normal ( this explains thef very low quality of the piano sound) and also because some movements of the head seem unnatural. We all know there are simple softwares able to accelerate music, without changing the tonality.
In any case it's well played and congrats to the pianist!
@voolare The low quality of the audio is due to the video being recorded through my digital camera- check my other piano videos (Aion theme, maybe?) and you will see that the quality of sound and the decay of the piano remains the same.
Hi, is that rachmaninov's original version or is this your own. I really like it. I'm used to hearing the other shine version which is why I am asking. And I can't locate my copy of the sheet music. Thanks. - Eddie
This is indeed Rachmaninoff's version. The version in Shine is the 'ossia' version, which was written before this version. If you look on IMSLP, you should be able to find the two-piano version with this version of the cadenza.
Fast forwarded? you must be jocking this is real guys, just try to make a fast forwarded video and see the mess its going to happen, man you are really good check out my videos, some have been described as fake also, RACHMANINOFF rules!!! keep it alive, cheers

Good! Unfortunately, the piano is not suitable for this Cadenza! try again with a Steinway concert grand piano....... ;-))
