  • @itskaaythao --- I think it's more from the 80's. :)

  • aw such a classic!!

  • This song was written by Chao Lee and his band in the early 60 and was sung by Ly Blong Vangkhue in Long Cheng for the first time around 1963 or 1964. Ly Blong is the real original singer for this song. FYI, he is Touly Vangkhue's uncle and was on top of the chart like Touly in the 80s in his time. The guy still alive and doing well. In fact, will be coming to in Twin Cities this July 4, 2010 to perform some of these oldies for the last time. Will post the exact date and time once I know.

  • man who is this lis pos and why is he taking credit for all oldies. if he couldn't sang it back then, than no one would know anything about this song, since most of the people couldn't read back then and you had to sang if you what it to be heard. i think lis pos is just a con artitst. i don't hear or seen any of his version around.

  • The singer in this song is called "kab nqos vias." people misunderstood. Lis Pos didn't sing this song. and he dindn't take any credit for this song. Lis Pos was one of the hmong pioneers who paved the way; opened many doors for our younger generations music. Lis pos is best known for his two songs: "thuag ua ib phawg av" and "hluas nkauj vinais."

  • this song was written by Lis, Nplooj - vam khwb...who is the uncle of Tub Lis vam khwb

  • This song was written by Lis Pos. Sang and performed by Kab Nkaus Vias. The singer's name is Vang, Ger.

  • I think you meant Lis Pov not Lis Pos.

  • actually there are two hmong music pioneers which include lis pov and lis pos. lis pov is more famous for writing music for artists such as luj yaj but does sing and lis pos is more famous for singing.

  • this song was sing by Toua Vang, Kab nkaus vas band early in the 80's. wow, rov nco txog tuam lub suab qab zib, tiam sis tu siab ntau tias nws tau tso lub ntiaj teb no tseg lawm. Txawm yog tsis muaj nws nyob lawm los nws lub suab tseem yuav nrog peb nyob ua ke mus tag ib sim........

  • aint this song sing by Lis Pos ?

  • I heard the the guy who wrote this came back from school in the city and his girlfriend was already marry and her name is Mee, so he was sitting in a Paaj Yeeb form when he wrote this song.

  • anybody knows who the original singer of this song? if u knoe please get back 2 me asap because i'v been looking and trying 2 findout who he is thank u very much............

  • Kaab Nqaus Vas

  • thanks man i appreciate it i o u alot

  • @bigboymedia wrong, lis paj

  • @bigboymedia What many people don't know or don't realize is that "Kaab Nqaus Vas" is a mix between Mong Leng and Der. To correctly write this in Mong Leng, it should have been "Kaab Nqog Vaas."

  • @dxiong050

you can call hang sao he is the hmong best key board right now in minesota. his n#763-227-0597. hope he still have the oginal copy

  • @dxiong050 ~ Yes, this version is sung by "Kaab Nkaus Vas" from 1979, the singer died just a short time after this was made. However, they did not own this song. I believe the song was written by Ly Blong Vangkhue (a relative of Touly Vangkhue). Before Kaab Nkaus Vas" made into tape, no one was a particular original singer. I'm not 100% sure if this was written by Ly Blong Vangkhue, since it's been so long. But am pretty sure half way....;~D

  • What was the guy's name that sing that. It's so long ago, I can't remember. Is he still alive?

    does anyone know? thanks.

  • The guy is dead, unfortunately. What I heard is that "dab coj nws mus hu nkauj hauv dab teb."

  • are you sure????? i think he is still alive...

  • no, tha's not true. he has a heart problem, they did a heart transplant on him them he pass away not too long after he received it.

    I noe this guy good.......hehehe

  • That's sad. Another Hmong legend has passed away. This song is an instant Hmong classic! The youngster today may think it's an oldy song, but it is most romantic song ever produced (in my opinion of course).

  • hey how old was this guy anyway? my parent use to put this on for me all my silbling to listen in the early 90"s and it brings so much memo...it make me miss my mommy and daddy...even tho i'm married and i'm 25 yrs old....thanx to all these great singer out there that make all of us proud..love it so much and Dear god, make him RIP....

  • His name was Tuam Xeem Vaj, Kaabnkausvas Band early in the 80's. Check out in Hmong Store to see if any one still have it. not every store have, but hope you find it.

  • As far as I'm concerned, he is our Hmoong legend and he wrote many great songs. This is a peaceful song and I like it!!!

  • Don't forget who u r and where u came from, just cuz ur so Americanized, doesn't mean ur not HMOOB!!!

  • hella gewd as song...that y he is a legend

  • u damn idiots, he's comparing the girl to a flower someone who is sweet and a virgin, someone that he is in love with and makes his heart skip a beat, and if both of their parents or their relationship are not allowed than they going to hold hands and jump off a cliff and commit suicide and than they can love in the afterlife

  • Yeaaa!!! an all time great! I think Hmong youths doesn't really understand this song otherwise they knew it's deeper than the beloved "Koj Nyob Qhov Twg"

  • It is a shame that as we Hmong becomes more educated, words like these are becoming extinted.

  • It seems like some pple don't know pajyeeb ntsha. Pajyeeb ntsha is an opium flower. The story goes like this, when a young man lost his precious girlfriend regardless of reasons, one day he went up the hell and saw the opium flower, it brought back his love and remind him of his beautiful girlfriend. So, he wrote the song and sing it out loud to the Hmong world in a peacefull way. Now, we all love the song. It's a classic song, forever love.....

  • this song bring me to the good old days. back then when the world is still young life is so simple and happy, Now that i am a millionaire, its so much easier.

  • love the song

  • idiotic..."Paj Yeeb Ntsav" literally mean "Flower Opium blood." It is either refering to a "red opium flower" or a "red rose" - in later case, Hmong do not have a/the word for "rose" in our language :), but in any cases, the whole songs describe "you're my rose..smell like rose..etc...

  • the thats zag the hmong folk singer.. hehe..

  • LOL i remember my auntie-in-law's name is Mos Mim and she's alwaise saying this song was written for her..LOL

  • Dang I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!

    HEY WHO SING IT?

  • kaab nqaus vsas

  • Also paj yeeb ntshav mean, Hmong's color word, very beautifu red colorful flower.

  • Paj yeeb Ntshav means a beautiful color opium flower, Hmog Mim mean the girl's name,He sang that every time he saw those beautiful flowwer he always tought of her because she's as pretty as those flower.

  • oh...thanks for the clarification.

  • Haha this is my daddy's jam haha =)

  • What is paj yeeb ntsha "mommy"? I dont get it.

  • Wrong flower.koj tsis tau pom dua paj yeeb ntshav los cas?

  • Nope. In that case, it'll be "ntshaav".

  • Nice song bring back alot of memories in the past!

  • Great song... brings back alot of good memories..

  • oh wow.. good song.. my friend loves this song!

  • great song

  • ey, this is a 5 star song in my book! not two.
