  • First rock concert I ever went to was for this album at Madison Square Garden, David Coverdale rocked along with Glen Hughes!

  • i first bought this on cassette tape, 1974 I think. its brill even in 2011

  • drums, vocals, keys, bass, backing vocals guitar....this music is epic in each one!!!

  • I remember my friend and I were listening to this song in his car parked in a predominatly black neighboorhood getting stoned and drunk before a Frank Zappa concert..Two young black girls(about 14 or 15) were walking down the street. They overheard this song and said,We likes that!Rock on little sisters!

  • Why was i born 97 :(

  • @Gazycyl i was born 94 and i´m still going to see them tonight! xP

  • @Gazycyl Because you are one of the chosen ones from Satan to help spread this generation with the word of Heavy Metal!

  • amazing song....i think this album could be so violent as the 1st track

  • Hedgeweed is correct-

Burn is maybe the best of DP -one of the best for sure.

  • the drums aree just....damn awesome

    ian paice is just great

  • Probably THE most exciting song of all time. Perfection. Hush and Speed King are actually contenders too, which means that Deep Purple are WAY above average. :)

  • epic !! !..!

  • everyone Burn!!!!!!!

  • Wow, epic song! i could listen to it for ever^^

  • Great song, great album, great album cover.

  • I think Jon Lord deserves some credit as well, don't you think? The organs are one of the main things that makes them stand out, and Lord plays them masterfully, no?

    Truly epic song though.

  • you're right Dusty, he's badass on that organ.

  • You discover that Glenn Hughes is pure talent here.

  • A true classic.

My only complaint to this song: your quest for the perfection in fast-paced hard rock is finished the moment you listen to this.

  • I think Highway Star fits that bill more so than Burn does. At any rate, put them both on a continuous loop then.

  • Fucking Masterpiece!!!! Deep Purple for rocks ever!!!

  • the most cool song !

  • dude the jonas brothers just turned in there beds...this is real rock mothafucka

  • i like this song.....

  • this would be good song for the burnout games, i liked coverdale better than gillian. i got a whitesnake live concert dvd that has this and stormbringer on it.

  • badass guitar work!

  • wow fucking great song of the deep purple band

  • This song is classic!

  • one of the bestt song of the hard rock

  • this song is so POWERFUL...hard rock at lit best.

  • david coverdale was magnificent on the lead vocals and personally if i were ian gillan i would be impressed

  • THIS IS ROCK AND ROLL!!! i heard this on alice cooper last week and finally found it...not even the burnouts at work remembered

    it.

  • its so sick because the don´t play this song anny more but its awsome

  • listen to the drums in this song THEY OWN

  • im a fan of all 3 vocalists i think they all brought something to the table

  • excelente.....bons tempos.............

  • I am a full on zeppo fan , but for keyboard players ya cant go past lord

  • Oh, I just realised where the concept for the album cover for Appetite for Destruction came from...

  • Another classic track in the great big dirty birth of heavy metal. Brilliant.

    Hail! Deep Purple!

  • es uno de los mejores grupos de todos los tiempos al igual que led zeppeling kiss desde venezuela oyendo lo mejor de lo mejor

  • not so weel known single, spread the word

  • Your an idiot, the organ is what makes Deep Purple, "Deep Purple".

  • What are you calling me an idiot for? Because I have a different opinion? This is rock music, asshole. It eithier speaks to you or it doesn't. Its a matter of personal taste, NOT fact. So, you know what...go fuck yourself!

  • i called you an idiot because by saying there is too much organ is basically saying "I hate Deep Purple"

  • Then I guess I hate Deep Purple, even though I don't.

  • all I know is that you can never have too much organ. (Insert Beevis and Butthead laugh here: he said organ...) You two play nice!

  • LOL!! What about cowbell?

  • Agree with you, man. The organ is essential.

  • Classico! Deep Purple é uma das melhores bandas do mundo...fantastico!

    DEEP PURPLE 4EVER

  • grande, grande !!!! Deep Purple!!

  • =)

jafro will do this proud xD

    xx

  • Glenn Hughes sounds just like Ian Gillan! I can´t believe he only sings so little in the songs...

  • Favourite song of an epic band.

  • I have to say Whitesnakes cover of this is superb

  • Both Ian Paice and John Lord were both in in Whitesnake at some point of it's lifetime.

  • how come so few views? this tune has to be one of the all time best heavy rock/metal of any genre. Just MHO.

  • I CANNOT get over Ian Paice's drumming in this song. It's absolutely crazy, and sooooo much fun to play.

  • You can actually play it? Congrats!

  • Thanks! I REALLY want to put a video of me playing it on youtube, but my camera is a piece of crap, and the quality (bothe audio and visual) sucks majorly... The second I get a good one though, Burn is the first song going up.

  • G reat, classic song. IT OWNS!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Deep Purple!!

  • me??

  • legendary song from deep purple!!

  • Great song, good rock.

  • KingTard this is great music Mabey its just cuz you have no ears ;D

  • are you fucked by some insane baboon?

power metal y only a new version of this masters of hard and heavy metal. bruce dickinson something like that. if you think another shit is your life

  • You mean somthin' good 'bout Bruce now right? 'Cuz then I'm with ya.

  • your kinda gay

  • Yea BURN !!!

  • Yea BURN !!!!

  • This is definitely one of the strongest classics DP ever wrote. Underrated too in my opinion. It's too bad it's so old (1971?).

Newer bands have not seemed to have produced hits of this caliber of creativity and energy in this genre, hard rock. Popular rock music has become way simpler now and emphasizes vocal harmony based--not guitar rock.

  • I desagree.Roger Glover is the best bass player on DEEP PURPLE.

  • Love this album as much as Machine Head and In Rock...The dual vocals is awesome imo it's like Ian Gillan split in two. One for the raspy voice and the other high vocals...The best part of tis line up was Hughes..he was much better Glover on bass.

  • No no..the WORST part of this line up was Hughes...they should have kept Roger.

  • Why? I like Roger but he wasn't as dynamic as Hughes. Another thing I wish is after Ritchies departure they should of got Michael Schenker or Uli Jon Roth...

  • Not as dynamic..and he didn't screech like he had a hot stick up his ass either.

Purple had the ideal replacement for Ritchie...Joe Satriani...but they let him go.

  • I'm talking way before JS was a fill in for DP on tour. Im talking Ritchies 1st departure from DP and they called Bolin to fill the spot. With Bolin in the band they should of went by another name because Bolin was a diffent style. Now Michael Schenker and Uli Jon were in the mold and style of neo classical metal like Ritchie.

On Hughes it's just a matter of opinion.

  • Hughes is one of the greatest singers and bass players in the world..get used to it! Love blackmores solo btw

  • I love this song.

  • Nice riff

  • awesome drummer

  • David Coverdale is singing this, not Glenn Hughes.

  • I'm sorry. I didn't know, but this song is cool.

  • Actually Glen Hughes does sing part of it, and is better than Gillan at the whole shrieking thing in my opinion.

  • this dudes aint better than Ian "mutha fuckin" Gillan..c'mon David Coverdale? Whitesnake dude? no way

  • Coverdale changed his singing style after Deep Purple, and in Whitesnake was worse. But in DP I think he was better than Gillan. And I was referring to the range of Glen Hughes' voice, not Coverdale.

  • well, i think is just a matter of opinion this Hughes and Coverdale vs. Gillan thing..i personally like Gillan cause he can be very multifacetic and fit in good with other bands. im talking about his voice here(i think he did good with Black Sabbath)..and he influenced Bruce Dickinson, sebatian bach and some other dude. but yeah thats like three of myy reasons. but i like hughes pretty much.not so much coverdale though

  • No doubt, Glen is great but I didn't like his "hyper shriek" moments live in the California Jam. LOL

  • They both sing on this track...use your ears !

  • How BADASS was the tradeoff with Coverdale and Hughes? ...BADASS...

  • Deep purple rocks!:-)

  • Jon Lord Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6th comment what doed this mean

  • It Mean That Your Number Six! Congratulation!

  • Ritchie rocks!

  • They Have The Best Piano Or Keyboard Solo I've Ever Heard! And They Are Awsome!

  • This is RocknRoll!
