for example even a gsxr1000 is rated at <300 for top speed.

Not knocking the video, bc who dont like seeing 300+ on their display, but the higher your speed gets on the display when it gets that high, it has error to it.. just know its not 100% accurate.. more like only 75-80% acurate at those speeds

@22svein... I didn't do anything to the speedo. Try to install a speedo from a GSXR 750/600 of the same generation as your 1000 (you can interchange them). If that doesn't do anything, than the 299km/h limitation is in the 1000's ECU.

As 22svein states, the manufacturers all agreed on limiting their bikes to 299km/h. Even though, after some minor tweaking the bikes are capable of going much faster, the visual affect of seeing 299 on the speedo gives you the sensation that you aren't going faster. For the same reason the speedo registers an exaggerated km/h-mp/h at slower speeds.

@tdneVmo Only problem is, this bike isnt an SRAD lol. Its an 03 gsxr 750. I have the identical bike. Only difference is I have a yoshi slip on and some other cosmetic adds. That is top speed for this bike. If you noticed he is hitting the rev limiter at the end when it reads 307!

@NDIW02... Now it would be a little harder, cause a lot of 1000cc rev up to 14,000rpm. But in 2001(Suzuki) only the gsxr750 spun to 14,000 (the gsxr600 was 14,500rpm & the gsxr1000 was 12,500rpm). The CV is about 127, but it weighs a lot less (less then 350lbs dry weight).

No. The GSXRs from 2000-09 all run a speedo sensor which reads off the counter-shaft (same as more or less all Japanese sportbikes). This means that a gearing change is not registered at the speedo. A 2k model 750 makes ~123 dyno-jet HP stock, and maybe 130 w/ a full system and PC3. For comparison, an 08 R1 makes ~150hp, and is not capable of hitting 186mph. What you see in this video is a geared-down bike showing a ton of error.
