@dudechupachabra well a good friend of mine (a guitar player) suggested Ultimate guitar. although it's intention was for gutiar tabs, there is quite a good amount of bass tabs, I find it useful as I myself, am a rookie bass player.
unusual finger style on your left hand when you move your fingers well played nice sound ...the only difference is paul used a pick to play it on flatwounds ....great stuff
A fine rendition - you've captured McCartney's understated yet majestic ability on the bass guitar. In the 60's, he elevated that instrument's melodic role to that of the guitars and the singers voices. Nicely (and seemingly effortlessly) done!
Great to see a McCartney bass appreciator. His bass work is never considered. He was a big influence on me when I worked up a few parts for some track years ago, my only bass guitar adventure. Keith McVeigh (check out his unique jazz on MySpace) encouraged me. He was a McCartney bass fan too. There's a very small group of McCartney bass lovers here in Belfast. Thanks for your wonderful homage and playing. - David
What a class bass player! The very best I've heard on YouTube!! The good news for me is that I have quite a way to go yet to work my way through all the rest of your covers. Quite simply wonderful!!!
the lackland sounds much better than your yamaha. and i must say that the beatles had very nice (and sometimes tricky) basslines. never noticed that although i heard them my whole life. thank you for your bass covers!
THE most superior cover on youtube!!! Hope you don't mind that I use it as my inspiration? Still having problems with the second chorus at 1:35 "full of fish and finger pies..." I didn't see that part on the official score, but I may have overlooked it?? Amazing job! If you could post a bass cover of "Savoy Truffle" I'd be so grateful.
I'd previously paid little attention to the complexity of the bass line in this song but you've made me realise how awesome the song is, and you play it superbly too. Very nicely done :-)
great job. not only is Paul a great singer song writer, but he's an awesome bassist. so melodic! Of course, I'm no expert on the bass, but I love his stuff.
It's a good thing I can't play bass...else I would play this song non-stop for the rest of my life...and I would wish I could play it this well. Great job.
Sure you can! Just take it slow and learn the proper ways to play. Practice, practice and more practice.
If I can tell you one but of advice (of course my opinion) learn to use your fingers! Not a pick. Finger picking sounds way better than a pick to me. More rounded, deeper, just like a bass should sound. Picks tend to be too "twangy" and sometimes even the clacking of the pick comes through the pickups and well that sounds like crap to me.
I like to use fingers as well, but I think that just depends on what kind of music you play. I prefer bit "heavier" music, but im still using fingers :)
Hey, ive been playing bass for about 1 week now (guitar for 1 1/2 years) and i cant get over the fact that im playing bass the same as a guitar.
