The South Tirol people are in the larger part german speaking people (Austrians). The region became a part of Italy after the the I. World War . German and Austrian armies defeated the Italian army,(Isonzo!) but the Italians had an agreement with the Allies. South Tirol is now an autonom region that belongs officially to Italy, but has a lot more rights they have fightet for over years.

Sorry, but your language doesnt make it right. Yes he is from south-tyrol. But no, not the whole part of tyrol is in Austria. Only north-tyrol is in austria. The south-part is in Italy. So he is Italian.

Everest summit is @ 29028 ft. But with using oxygen, you artificially reduce the status of the mountain, and its only like summiting a 26028 feet mountain so I agree with hastelculo that this was the first real true successful summit attempt, and I would never summit Everest with bottled oxygen, so ya that is what hastelculo is trying to say.

LOOK I AGREE with your technicsl dsts, but if summit EVEREST with or without oxgen you have to bring supporting "smoking gun evidence" as an objetive witness that summiting EVEREST WAS TRUE. If you cannot apport this "objective evidence" it is like if you have never summited EVEREST. The RED COMMUNIST Chineese big party summited EVEREST in 1960 -WITH AUXILIARY OXYGEN" and they did not have supporting FILM EVIDENCE , but they did had a lot of personal witnesses to testify around these matters.

i did everast on a whimb, with no supplys and a broken toe, took only 3 hours to the top and back,... sadly, no one was around to see or film me doing it. but i give you my word, right here on you tube.. and no one can deny that.
