  • He has another video that is live, the brass only orchestra he is playing with ruins it though :/ but he gets a B not a B flat so that better on his part

  • @DarkAeonSlayer99999 Look here everyone a sophisticated rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity.

  • @stosin Did you really think I was being serious? Of course not. Where could you find the "actual" recording of this? You don't know much about singing that's for sure. Just listen to his speaking voice and compare it to this rendition. He's a dramatic tenor with a sonorous, round voice.

  • @DarkAeonSlayer99999 stfu troll

  • I never studied Italian, never been very much into opera, but I know at least half the words of this aria and can sing along now after listening to this video a few dozen times. heh!

  • sei bravissimo....

  • Well done sir!

  • lip sync for the win

  • thats not ur voice!!!

  • @stosin You're a fucking idiot.

  • WOW truely a God given talent!!!Simply amazing

  • Yep, you are definitely going to take over the world, and I am NOT stopping you.

  • Amazing job man. Amazing job. Do you know where I could find this exact instrumental (with the B flat as the last note)?

  • You are an inspiration. Keep on keeping on. :)

  • Will you put out more opera? This was so good! I want more!!!

  • @thomaslmarkus78 "Silent Night" by Downhere (Marc's band) has Marc doing opera in it.

  • WOW .... Just WOW!!!!!

  • This man's singing ability is phenomenal. He's been truly blessed by the Lord with this voice. Singing lessons or no, his voice is a blessing for all to hear. Thank you Marc.

  • "Holy Crap" button.... too funny! But I totally agree. HOLY CRAP! He's phenomenal, all around. Here's to his Freddie Mercury tribute with Queen Extravaganza - good luck to him!

  • Alright this just isn't fair, dear god why couldn't you give me the talent of singin like this guy

  • OMG! A man who sings like this, I tell you makes me goes weak at the knees! Just beautiful! Thank-you xx

  • You are Absolutely AWESOME!!! Love it :)))))

  • OH MY LORD! This is crazy.... lol God bless you Marc.

  • Wow! Beautifully done! It is so cool to see a pop/rock singer who not only appreciates opera. So many people write opera off as too "high-brow".

  • Are you effing kidding me? Is this guy for real? He is serious? He is simply amazing!

  • JAJAJAJAJA... stupid canadian boys jajajajjajaj

  • Goosebumps literally every time

  • Bravo Bravo !!!!!!!!

  • Where's the "Holy Crap!" button??!?

  • You're beautiful. Marry me, please (:

  • Great classical interpretation! You don't need an over-dramatic opera technique to interpret it correctly. Just hold a few of the final phrases a tad more and you've NAILED IT. You know the ones already and I don't necessary mean just "vincero". (Hint, hint, "Splendera...") Regardless, it's a beautiful romantic interpretation that just needs a tad rounding. W00t!

  • wow! Very nicely done.

  • holy crap. way to hog all the world's talent, marc martel!

  • Just discovered this older video from Marc and remain amazed at his ability to interpret and emulate different styles of music. The one word that springs to mind: PRODIGY.

  • Just discovered Marc's amazing Talent.....absolutely awesome.

  • impresionante vos tenes un instrumento unico cuidalo

  • Sorry - to me looks like he's lip-synching. How could that room provide those acoustics?

The singing is too well blended with the orchestration to be real.

  • @genome38 Whats so hard on adding some echo and reverb in the effects? o.0

  • @genome38 It's called having studio experience. He is a pro with pro equipment.

  • @genome38 It is 100% real. Notice the mic he is using.. It is patched into a Large Hall plug-in in Protools if I remember right. I'll ask Marc tomorrow if you really want to know.

  • Amazing!!! What a Jung Pavarotti !!!

  • Fuck I hate you, I´ll kill to have have half the amazing voice you do.

7 minutes ago I was wondering why didn´t Gregory Finsley got the part, now I have no way to complain about that call. He´s great, yeah, but, well, he´s just not at this level. Thanks.

  • jaw just dropped! What an amazing natural talent. Canadian talent!

  • you are a wonder make your own music man yeaaah

  • @martinkft He does make his own music, he's in the band Downhere.

  • the 13 dislikes UNLICKY for you

  • what a lucky guy having this voice

  • Now I have some idea what it would have been like to hear Freddy Mercury sing opera. Fantastic!

  • Wow... Tu as beaucoup de talent! heureuse de voir qu'un Montréalais à pu faire voir son talent! Tu as une voix tout simplement magique! Bravo mille fois!

  • i love youuuuuu

  • omg i dont know what to say after that .... im hot and i have chills at the same time

  • Congratulations for the Queen Extravaganza gig!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Freddie Mercury AND Pavarotti?

Good Lord, can I borrow some of that talent?

  • mark and brian brought me here

  • i just found myself amazed lately after finding out about Marc and then searching more vids of him

  • Great Vid Marc! Have you listened to Adam Lambert? Check him out in "Brigadoon" and "Is Anybody Listening" here on YT. He's had voice lessons since the age of 10 and even has some opera training. Listen to "Soaked" LIVE from Knoxville (from his Glam Nation Tour) Then of course, Brian May & Roger Taylor called and requested him to go to Belfast in Nov to sing with them LIVE at the MTV EMAs & he SLAYED in a medley! Good Luck with the Queen Tribute gig! I know you'll get it! Thanks! :D

  • @queenrosered Good LORD. You are pathetic. Yikes.

  • @TwiRobism Since it's apparent that you have no command of English, allow me to assist. You meant to say that I'm EMPATHIC.Meaning that I have a more than fleeting concern for your well-being. I've learned, today, that Marc does, indeed have the job! That's what I wished for him. \o/ As for YOU....I wish for you to be happy and positive in REAL life so that you feel no need to troll the internet making negative comments and attempting to degrade and negate others in order to feel superior. ;D

  • Wow! Breath-taking, amazing, mind-blowing! Treasure your blessing, Marc. ;)

  • gave me goosebumps.. you are fantastic! marry me? :P

  • A Divine gift. I love your voice. I'd pay to hear you sing in the Queen shows. Brian May --- This guy is YOUR MAN!!! HIRE HIM!!!!

  • Amigo mio su voz es increiblemente mejor que muchas que son famosas. Un fuerte abrazo

  • wow, i'm speechless. simply amazing!

  • He's done really well for a beginner. Takes a lot of guts to take on a classic :)

    I completely agree with itsthemex07

From two opera singers to you, lol

  • I do hope Queen will let you sing this at the shows

  • Dude get training get into a school and you will make yourself a career. seriously. From one opera singer to another please. You have enormous potential. Great singing man.

    Best wishes

  • You possess the Heart and Soul of music. Never loose that.

  • I just recently got into classical and ur the first opera singer I have seen on YouTube beautiful I don't understand a word ur saying but beautiful.

  • Great voice kid. Come hear about the blood. Hit my link this is serious!

  • Your voice is like a glimpse into heaven....

  • Best, great, top.pretty good wonderful brilliant amazing divine bravissimo

  • Just... just... just BRILLIANT. Love your voice. keep going on this way, man! :)

  • Bravissimo!!

  • This is awesome !!!

  • Absolutely, amazingly brilliant!!!

  • 13 people think they are better singers... lol.

  • @kjajames Hé ouais....... y'a des gents bizard défois...

  • You suck

  • Marc, this is truly amazing. I'm a total opera fan and I think you nailed it and that you could take the opera world by storm, if you wanted to.

With your chops (and vocal versatility), you could easily develop into hitting even a high C without falsetto.

There's a saying that if you are meant to be in opera, opera finds you. I think it has.

  • As for the opera buffs who are looking for him to sustain the final notes, it was written more the way he's singing it, and opera singers hold those notes just to show off.

  • Amen macgrad

  • What gets me the most about this performance is the control you have. Carefully timed and beautifully executed. You should do more.

  • A beautiful voice from a beautiful man.

  • Great pronounce

  • Amazing job sir. You looked very comfortable in the half step down range. I challenge you to push that. Keep it up.

  • how can someone dislike this?!

  • molto bene la prununcia ialiana... la voce...nn c è bisogno la commenti ;)

  • Really great voice, Marc! Love it! =)

    Keep goin' on with singing.

....Congrats, Nessun Dorma is ... Wow! =)

    Greetings from Slovenia, Europe

  • Beautiful song, brilliant voice, great singer!

  • this guy is better then paul potts anyway...

    And not even trained!

  • 12 idiots dislikes this.

  • It's funny for an italian to hear a foreigner sing in your language without knowing what he says =) Incredibly good anyway! I loved it.

  • I learned how to sing the way as you did, Mr. Martel, except Barbra Streisand was more my model than Jordan Knight. And I fucking LOVE Nessun Dorma. It's such a powerful song and the best singers recognize that the high notes at the end should support the lyric. Great job.

  • Very Good Voice and very good Italian!!...by an Italian ;)

  • God Bless You, Marc ~ You have an amazing voice!

  • 12 justin biberon fans!!!!

  • ho la pelle d'oca,bravo!

  • Just incredible.

  • Really like you're voice and you sound like Freddie in you're queen audition x Hope you do well bud x Fe from Scotland .

  • wow.. W O W.

  • le pure beauty starts here 3:17.

  • Otherwise, incredible singing... Not "shouty" as amateur tenors tend to be, but smooth. Bravo. I wish I was a tenor... but I'm a baritone, so rather limited in the choice of singing things like Queen.

  • Love the mic. What make?

  • @LeDragonLXXVI It's a Shure sm7b

  • ... with your beautiful voice you have not only paid tribute to Giacomo Puccini but to Italy and Italians ... thanks all

  • ...con la tua splendida voce hai reso onore non solo a Giacomo Puccini ma all'Italia e gli italiani tutti...grazie

  • You have a great voice. Great job on this song! May God bless you on this incredible journey that has been given to you. Stay strong in your faith and let God use you to glorify Him as you reach millions of people.

  • I am in complete and total amazement! Marc, you are so incredibly blessed and obviously committed to your craft. I commend you for taking the time to share your gift. Amazing!

  • @valhalla075 thats not awesome, its AMAZING

  • incredible

  • I created this account just so I could comment on this video. Marc, I truly believe that god gives everyone a special talent. God gave you the gift of a beautiful voice and I just wanted you to know that. Singing truly was your destiny, and your calling, and I hope that you stick with it for the rest of your life.

  • joder

  • you marry me? :)

  • I'm falling in love with your voice O.O seriously, I think i'm becoming your stalker...I been on the internet for 2 hours watching interviews and all your video's (not many of your band ones, not enough of you in there)...one thing I want to point out, your not just a freddy clone...I know I might get some serious hate mail for this...but I like your voice more then I do freddy's....you just have so much talent, I love this thing you just did, but please make more rock.

  • En educated talent. You are like my updated version :)

  • I've recently seen Downhere performing at First Baptist Church of Orlando and fell in love with the whole group. My prayer is that they wisely use this 'stage' God has given them. The higher the stage, the bigger the audience, the farther you can make yourself heard and so on... May they use this 'privilegde' position to only bring glory to The Highest, to the only One who deserves honor and glory. GOD!!!

I hope they can be around for a long time. Beautiful voices!!!

  • Vieni a cantare in Italia! Come come! Bravissimo.

  • Bravo, incredibile!

    Ciao from Italy!!!!!!!!

  • Bravo, Marc. Bravo.

  • i agree 100%. I LOVE YOU! i love that you like Opera! I do too, i don't feel so weird anymore! <3 Lol

  • OH MY LORD!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked to hear this from Marc Martel!!! I loved him because of Downhere but this is amazing! One talented dude!!! WOW!

  • Brilliant. The great thing about this rendition is that Marc is humble enough to know his limits, and doesn't pretend to an opera singer. He then shapes the song to fit his own voice, like changing the last B to a B flat. That is the mark of a true artist. I've heard too many bad renditions because people overestimate their abilities, but Marc did it perfectly. He owned the song; it didn't own him.

  • You are amazing

  • wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf!!!!!!

  • @zate1982 i think you meant marc mantel ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw!!!!! :P

  • Trained or not trained, that voice is A GIFT FROM GOD ALMIGHTY!

  • not godd

  • good!! by italian

  • First, awesome performance. Second, you look like Captain Jack Harkness from Dr. Who, and Torchwood.

  • amazing!!

  • beautiful! u passed through my soul! u r a pleasure to listen to and take me from my mundane life, thankyou x

  • Very well done! You learn a lot about Nessun Dorma by listening to Mario Del Monaco's interpretation of it! (It's here on YouTube.)

  • Goood accent!!!! i'm italian!!

  • Dilegua o notte, tramontate stelle...ciao Luciano :'-(

  • So incredibly beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. You have talent that most could only dream of having.

  • I love that he mentioned Jordan Knight and his falsetto voice....that is awesome!!!!!

  • HI MARC MARTELICIOUS! DID YOU CREATE SKID MARKS IN YOURE UNDERPANTS WHILE SINGING THIS SONG? hahahahahahahaha..

  • Clearly an incredible talent! But having a humble heart, and that Freddie Mercury was genuinely one of your influences, makes it even better. Excuse me while I tell everyone I know to vote for you. Good luck buddy!

  • When you sang someone to love, you did it with such ease. This is a bit more challenging and it was incredible. So what is the next challenge?

  • I can't... I can't... I'cant believe it! You are the most talented singer since Freddie Mercury (as said by Smartuur) and you make me happy to re-heard his voice... and this perform of Nessun Dorma is so wonderful! I'm Italian and I have to tell you have a good diction even if some group of letters like ''nc'' of ''vincerò'' you can't say perfectly. But It doesn't matter because they are so impercetible...

Wonderful... You're beginning my preferred singer after Freddie Mercury

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo excited for you!!! God has blessed you greatly! I am thankful for the piece of heaven I can feel when you sing!!! Make a joyful noise brother :)

  • @kittylighthouse

    AMEN!!!!!

  • Great stuff, really. What I mean by that is the passion behind it. Passion sells so much and when you can dance with the notes like an angel then THAT's Amore!

  • Please, Martel, do not go to any sing trainer, since you are (almost) perfect: I tell you as an Italian tenor. Bravo, davvero. You deserve only the best.

  • wow

  • really good,....but to me you have to do that in original tune ...not half step down.that's the way to be a real tenor.no orchestra in the world is going to play the whole opera half step down just because you can't sing that in original.....be honest for the music's sake....good luck.

  • Marc Martel, u not also imitate, you have your own personality and you r one of the best singers I heard in my thirty three years old. Long life to your career and a lot of success. Greetings from Spain.

  • My mom knew Pavorotti and this brought her to tears. Bravo, bravo bravo....

  • i'm jealous! i flip to falsetto around a g :(

  • @EricHesson25 Give yourself some time. You have many opportunities to grow and develop. Marc may have learned from listening closely, but most tenors are trained in many areas of vocal technique. Good coaching can make a huge difference! Keep working towards your goal.

  • Marc, I also love that grin on your face at the end, You are good and You know it, which is cool.

Great signing man, cant wait to hear more from You!

  • I LOVE THAT GRIN ON YOURE FACE AT THE END OF THIS SONG.

    MARC YOURE MARTELICIOUS!!!

  • I saw him do this live as a warm-up before a show his band did in our city and got to meet him after! I was ecstatic. He's absolutely incredible.

  • Bravissimo.

  • is this for real?

  • You are amazing, simple AMAZING! You have God diven talent. I really hope you will get to tour and just get out there, because talent like yours is rare. I'm holding my thumbs up for you.

Oh man, there are just no words to describe the emotions I'm feeling listening to your heavenly voice.

  • Would definitely like to see you sing with Queen band

  • A blessing to hear and to know that you are pursuing such a worthy note.....the perfect note ;)

  • wow

  • I've been a fan since before I saw Downhere a couple years ago in Tulsa. Love good, quality music. Would love to sing with them sometime but I guess not till we get to heaven, huh?

  • My mother is from Milano, Italy. So was my grandmother. I grew up with both of them in NH. I used to listen to my grandmother play that song for years. My mother used to complain that Nonna (grandma) used to bring her to too many opera shows growing up. I'd wager that she'd bust into tears if she saw this video. I know I did.

  • Awesome TIMES a million! 1/2 note down??? So what! That was amazing and imagine if you had a little bit of training... wow... I'd still pay to see you right NOW!
