  • WOW, hmm so where would black people be if this had caught on instead of gangsta rap. . . what if we were known for making fun music and innovative entertainment instead of music about drugs, mysogyny and death? #whatcould havebeen

  • "this is my style, I made it, you couldn't do it if you cold went and paid for it"

In the history of rap Hammer has no peer as an entertainer !!! Only Big Daddy Kane and Heavy D gave you the clean lyrics with some choreography but on a smaller scale. This vitriolic crap of todays rappers with their buffoon shouting yeah, yeah while the rapper walks from side to side for 20 mins. is lackluster and dull. Same shit different face.

  • When brothas started thinkin it was not cool to dance,Hammer said WAIT A MINUTE.He made it cool 2 dance, like GOODY MOB said ''THEY DONT DANCE NO MO,ALL DEY DO IS THIS''.He gave u a show legends give,i liked it really when it was just him,his brother,& 357,but he had 2 spread his wings & fly & help others fly as well.ROUND OF APPLAUSE 4 THE 1 & ONLY M.C.HAMMER!!!!

  • Hammer inspired me to dance. We need more videos like this. Beyonce and Rihanna need to take some dancing lessons from him.

  • God how I miss theese days. here is noone like this theese days. it's all about postering instead of entertaining the masses.

  • @icthruu4evr 2 years? Hammer was everywhere! Stage, T.V. , movies, commercials, cereal boxes, his own cartoon series. Everwhere. People had to look at their driver's license to make sure he there too. He still got hands on stuff here and there.

  • I remember when he did that show in Detroit ha ha!! Good times....

  • If only I could get the MP3 for this song.

  • @oldschoolelf youtube-mp3(.)org

    DETROIT.!

  • Hammer knew how to bring the party! And most of the party was in his crew!

  • why do all of your audios sound so incredibly bad? do you record your video with a webcam?

  • @27andkickinit ...I agree...ppl like to front on Hammer now...but I'm not...he had me jumpin all over my living room back then

  • 'I am Daddy u r Son!" :-)

  • Hammer was the MAN....he worked his ass off at a show to entertain the crowd...and like ibshizzle said....he tried to give back and help to many tirfaling friends he grew up with....leaches as i call them...my daughter was around 8 when hammer first hit it big and her and i made every concert, charity basketball game.. whatever....cause i really respected the MAN and his music...people use to ride me about taking my daughter...shit...best role model i could think of.

  • you got that right....and not only that but when you went to a hammer show you GOT your moneys worth cause he really did work his ASS off to entertain.

  • This is my favorite song by Hammer. He went hard on this! No frontin!

  • Now Thats A Damn Good Show Right There!

  • ohhh shit did he diss slick rick?????

  • BEST DANCER EVER.

  • All the rappers calling Hammer a sellout where jealous they weren't as popular or as talented. These rappers didn't want Hammer making all the money and getting al the fame so they maligned him, tried to ruin him and then stole the endoresement opportunities for themselves.

  • man now that listen to it hammer was going at cats heads and he was outselling them thats why rappers was hating....lmao

  • such a sexy man

  • Most rappers today can't dance a lick, they just know how to rap, they walk around the stage moving their arms back and forth, jumbering around like some kind of anaimal. M. C. Hammer isd the best rapper of all time, a worthy successor to the greatest entertianer of all time, James Brown.

  • @PaulDA2000 I know what you mean, he may not have been the greatest lyricist, but he was a damn good entertainer, I will tell you that! These rappers today are just jokes all around!

  • WOW!

  • he used break eeerbody off with bread, talk about saint right?

  • I love Hammer!!!!!!

  • When videoes were worth while watching and folks DANCED....not just push and thrusting their bodies with barely a bit of material on your themselves!!!!!!!

  • Hammer was the man !!!

  • Sounds terrible today don't it lol

    lyrics.....jeez

  • I'm not gonna lie, but i went to see Hammer in concert back in the day. I'll admit.....He did put on one hell of a show.

  • where can I download this?..

  • @Blizzard2319

    check riddlish channel ....

  • @riddlish thanks

  • Hammer may have been an average mc, but he could put on one hell of a show

  • i miss how music was about dancing and having fun and being positive. Now music is all about sex drugs and crime. I wish I new how good I had it back then. I feel sorry for my sons when they get older because I am afraid how much worse the music is going to get. Dont get me wrong there is some good music out there but the majority sings about all negative stuff. Too much cursing and sex talk. Its deplorable.

  • This my sh#t in the 7th grade

  • he is NOT DEAD

  • RIP. He was a great artist, very talented... :'(

  • @xalivus

He's.......dead...O_O WHEN ? I though he was preaching and all

  • @Neakob he lives in Oakland, CA and preaching in the church.

    he quit music

  • where can i find this version to download? This was the shit!

  • "They put me in the mix!!!!"

  • He was in Detroit....the " D"!!!!!! Go Hammer!

  • i dont use itunes.does the proceeds go to the artist in the same manner as buying an album the normal way?his first couple albums are still the shit

  • yep, they do! and i agree! Hell, I was playing' Ring 'Em this morning on my way to work LOL

  • haha thats one of my favs.thanks!ill join the rest of the world and look n2 itunes

  • HAMMER WAS OFF THE HOOK!!!!! I don't give a damn what NOBODY say! When you saw him perform, you knew he was giving 110%! I'm going to iTunes RIGHT NOW to buy all of his shit! I think I still have his 1st, 2nd and 3rd albums on casette tapes!

  • I still have his 1st album on tape. I played his 3rd till the tape broke! And you're right! You could put this video and his contributions against any of these new fools on the scene today and Hammer would pound 'em all! No special effects, no camera tricks! Just straight to the point, 150% entertainment!

  • @Vamply Yo man I went on Itunes an done the same thing I've never seen a rapper put in as much energy as him

  • @Vamply ...Hammer was 'Da Bomb!

  • @Vamply And you're right about THAT! Now you know you're a die-hard fan when you STILL have his albums ON CASSETTE! The thing i loved about Hammer was the fact that when he gave a show, he gave 110% just like you posted. But he was NEVER about gimmicks. He was always about "giving all the people all they can get." And he never had to diss nobody to get anywhere.

  • @Vamply The effort that he put into his videos and performances, these cotton-candy, sweet ass, cotton pickin' rappers of today need to study him and take notes on how to really entertain the people. He didn't need AutoTune or skinny jeans to make a statement!

  • @Vamply aint that the truth!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw Hammer in Augusta,GA in 1989. Maybe 500 showed up. Still like him.

  • I haven't seen this video since around '89, literally, lol!

  • GOOD!

  • i used to order this when iwas 9 or 10 on the "jukebox" channel 23 in sacramento ca..'89 was the shit ..base pipes, donkey ropes and parachute pants LOL

  • haha jukebox!!!i remember them days..dont forget troop suits!

  • This guy is SICKKKKK ahahahah, AMAZING!!!

  • BET did a countdown for the best dancers a year or so ago and Hammer was not on it. I couldn't believe it, this man is one of the best!

  • who's the best dancer? may I know it? :)

  • Last time I heard this was ages ago on radio but I still have that chorus in my head. The "Hammer, Hammer..." "They put me in the mix!" - part.

  • if your head's not noddin' to this cut, you must be DEAD!!

  • man im outta breath just watching this video....dude has mad energy to keep this up...

  • You aint lieing!!!!

  • This is crazy!!! 20 yrs later and its still bangin!!! Make me wanna break out the parachute panse.

  • this iz my sh!t... b angie b iz my girl

  • the reason hammer went broke was because he was trying 2 help his friends and give back 2 his community. unlike now you dont see rappers giving people jobs like that hammer had so many dancers and him being a good hearted dude he ended being betrayed and broke all respect 2 hammer.

  • True and he was just plain wasteful and made bad finance decisions with the money he didn't give away. He spent tens of thousands of dollars on stuff like gold doorknobs and faucets in his house. Also, he bought some expensive race horses and tried to make it in the racing game.

  • @lbshizzle Sorry but that's bullshit. You don't blow $30 million just by giving people jobs. Hammer lived a lavish lifestyle that was beyond his means. His concert productions became very expensive while at the same time his record sales dropped like a rock.

He tried to blame the people around him, but Hammer was really to blame. He thought he was invincible. He was in denial when his music no longer sold. That's what killed him. Because he just kept spending like he was a big shot.

  • @lbshizzle buying a brand new car and leaving it in the hood for someone to take is just plain ole retarded. great music and a great person, just not very smart.

  • @lbshizzle Hammer's a good man, period. If you ever see him in interviews, it's like he can't believe how people abandoned him! Whatever, he hasn't done anything he should regret, helping is helping, and entertaining is entertaining, and he's the Mack.

  • @lbshizzle

SO MUCH respect! This man gets nothing but respect from me.

  • @lbshizzle

And a stable of race horses did not help

  • @lbshizzle Hammer was heck of a good guy.

  • i dnt understand how hammer ended up broke and souljah boy still has money with the garbage he slangs he brings the south down

  • this brings back memories this was my dads SONG! I remeber being about 8 me & my dad in the living room cuttin up the rug to this one LOL

  • This was the greatest show on earth, when I went to see hammer in concert I felt like I got my money's worth and then some.

  • Ok Major Mc Hammer Classic Need This Record To Spin On 88.7FM WGVE

  • they put me in the mix!

  • Man, Hammer is coming with that heat, spittin' nothing but that heat.

Suckas are gettin' roasted in this song!

  • I love it...saw Hammer on tour 3 times...Orlando, Tampa, and Gainesville....the best line is "Your '87, and I'm '89!"

  • Awesome. Old school hip-hop. Cold Go MC Hammer.

  • that was the shit

  • I was lucky as a child to make money doing hair. I swear I spent most of it on this video paying my mother and father back for ordering it everyday all day during one summer on the "Juke Box." That was the BET for most kids now days. I LUV and still Luv and respect Hammer and what he did for the entertainment industry. Watch his new show he's still got IT!

  • this is still rocking!!!!

  • I loved this song when I was in high school, and now after all these years I love it again!

  • Dances back then kept folks in shape....dances today can't compare to the old school....This man tore the stage up in concert!

  • Love it!

  • Hammer was the best! He was an ENTERTAINER fo sho!

  • Even the security at 3:57 love this sh**

  • Numero Uno

  • Hamm r was all about lifting ppl's spirits and making them feel good positive energy when they went to his shows...

  • Anybody know what happened to his sidekick, Too Big??

  • Too Big MC branched out on his own but I only ever heard one song by him called "King of the Hype"...

  • They had a falling out 'cuz I remember Too Big made a Hammer diss video. lmao

  • Yessssir!!! this joint takes me back...i loved this joint, actually, come to think of it...i still do!!!

  • you're '87 and I'm '89!

  • Say what you will but if you went to a Hammer show you definitely got your money's worth

  • I know that's right! I saw him perform in Detroit at the Fox Theatre's Pioneers of Hip-Hop. It featured him, Roxanne Shante, Biz Markie, Naughty By Nature, and 2 Live Crew. Out of all the acts i listed, he was the best one! You either had the parachute pants or you were doing the moves! For me, it was the moves! He really knew how to put on a show!

  • "I'M BUSY!!!!!".

As a young kid I though Hammer was cool at the time. In retrospect he came along at a time when dancing and rapping was the standard. He was the only artist who guts to go after RUN DMC...LOL!!!

  • hammer was hard when he first hit the set...p-funk sample...one nation under a groove

  • This was the shit...I was dancing like this in 88 lmaooo

  • He's one of the legends of music not just hip hop.FUTURE HALL OF FAMER!

  • There will never be another Hammer. I get tired just watching him dance. So sad!

  • Back then he was bigger than Lil Wayne/Chris Brown/ Soldier Boy/etc... could ever dream of being.

There will NEVER be another Hammer for sure.

  • I agree! He was the bomb!!!

  • me too, my bro use to dance like him!

  • I had a pair of those Hammer/3-5-7 shoes....thought I was the shyt.

  • LOL @ 2'big's shiny suit!

  • You know what? Hammer has a great flow on this...his lyrics are quite tight!!

  • Are you serious?

  • He was O.K

  • Wat u mean hammer was ok?....back then hammer was the shyt ya heard.he had talent and he knows how to dance his azz off,one of da best after michael jackson.

  • This is my FAVORITE Hammer joint...I used to lose it on the dance floor when this came on!

  • Hammer has revolutionized Hip Hop. He brought a creative flavor to it. And this what hip hop back then was all about, being different than others. Today, no one is being creative and that's unfortunate. Everybody sounds the same, kicking the same lyrics, and making the same videos. We have 30 beyonces , 24 Neos, and about 49 souldier boy :( Love you Hammer and thank you for your contribution.

  • the youngestGM in MLB history at age 13!!!

  • FILMED AT JOE LOUIS ARENA IN DETROIT SUMMER OF 90....Hammer was REAL big in Detroit!!!!....and this was my favorite video from him.

  • I have much love of Hammer bcuz he broke himself trying to give back ....he had too much heart ...i guess bcuz it went so un-noticed. No matter what happened to him ....with money or with out it he did not let it break him. He is preacher and family man and still care about people as whole. No he is not a just worry about me and mine type of person. Love u Hammer in my book ur still a star shining bright and ur still rich to me.

  • it's sad.hammer got called a sellout cause of what he was doing...the same thing these rappers are doing today..are they sellout too? the word dont exsist in rap no more. all the rappers are sellouts

  • I've been saying that for about a decade now. All of hip hop owes Hammer an apology. Not only have so many rappers sold out, none of them are nearly as creative as Hammer. What song out right now, on the regular rotation of your local "blazin" hip hop/r and b station is as good as this? Fucking none. Maybe when Dre's shit comes out later this year. But right now? Nothing.

  • Hey , let it be known that I brought all of MC Hammer Cd's and will play them at will.
