I saw Hannah Bettes yesterday at YAGP and she's my friend on facebook lol!! :D but she did a ballet duet with Jackson Kettel and OH MY GOD... the whole audience stood up and they had the loudest clap of the whole show!!!!! :O i'm a dancer too and i wish to be her! But i know i'll never be like her. i want my feet like her <3

@sulaaussies That's actually a good question! I am a ballet dancer myself, and dancing with pointe shoes is soooo much harder.. In the beginning it was actually supposed to make it harder for the girls to do ballet, and it worked! But, it's beauuuutiful.

Did anybody notice that the youth grand Prix winner did five pirouettes on a low demi pointe? And he never did a correct fifth position!

@fregramis1 Yeah his first round (this video) wasn't the best but he was INCREDIBLE in the final round and in the gala!!! I saw him last year too. He really is amazing for his age. Tyler Donnatelli and Hannah Bettes were also amazing!!! I think all the Junior winners were really good. The 1st and 2nd place junior boys were good, but a bit on the feminine side. The youth grand prix winner and third place boy were the best - more masculine and fun to watch.

@catgoesgreen17 Scoring is very subjective at finals. For example, someone who got gold could place lower than someone who got bronze but they decided to place them as gold. They also do not hand back scores to those who placed in top 12 or above.

@dancinaleks It's based on potential. The judges are VERY good at picking out the kids with true potential verses the ones who can only do their one or two variations that they've been practicing for 2 years 3 hours a day, but can't do anything else. And, there are a LOT of those at YAGP. If you've ever seen them in class you know exactly what I'm talking about!

@catgoesgreen17 i agree!!! :D i did yagp a few years ago before going to the royal ballet school, and some cases are quite political (judges friends, ex students of judges, their school has a big name) but i'm not taking away the fact she has got really nice feet! everyone else though is absolutely beautiful! i especially love the senior girls bronze winner and believe she deserved at least the silver medal, or even the gold. :D
