@rathuanyatzi It's to downshift with a revmatch and brake at the same time; try braking hard and dumping the clutch into lower gears at the same time without revmatching and see what happens...the tires are gonna lock and/or throw the car off balance.

@rathuanyatzi it does a couple things but its most important feature is that it prevents compression locking of the rear wheels on downshift. go 50mph and shove you manual transmission in 2nd and see what happens when you just step off the clutch. Generally the weight shift forward coupled with the engine as a brake will lock the rear wheels up. good to initiate a slide or step the car out, but while racing its hard to predict. raising the engine rpm as you release the clutch can prevent it

@rathuanyatzi the engine wont stall out and while its called compression lock its actually not locked up its just the drive wheels are turning slower then your car is travelling, they are effectively sliding. It only occurs for a second or so as you let the clutch out too fast but its enough to unsetlle the car. In circuit racing they use the gas to keep revs high so they can change to a lower gear at higher speed without causing this to occur. the rpm is specific to engine/gearbox/car/tyres

It thrives on miliseconds and perfect timing on everything. I can understand why people hate watching it (like myself) but give credit where credit is due. Fudge.. I cant wait until they compare the ft86 with the s2000. It is gunna be such a close battle with 2 similar cars.. yet so different. I will probably love both. I use to be a huge honda hater! worlds biggest honda hater actually.. until 1 day i drove a jdm b16 del sol.. and an s2000 and i quickly shut my damn mouth. Selling my wrx sti for an s2000 this summer. Not the same performance levels.. but s2000s a hell of alot funner. I hope the s2000 holds its own againts the ft86!

@badSTI No, my sti looks like a 22b.. it has a 22b kit on it. Its pretty mint actually.. i didnt say it wasnt fun. I said not as fun. I live in a city where there is ALOT of snow.. but our winter temperatures reach -40 degrees. I dont want to put my Subaru through that hell in the winter.. and I dont want an oil pan heater on it. Its a fun car.. but way more expensive to upkeep and to much worry for maitenance. I know for a fact if I was not a young guy and had lots of money...

@mmdaniels33 Well Ive never been a fan of putting body kits on subarus, unless it serves a purpose. My WRX is sitting on STI susspension and Agency front and rear sway bars and it handels better then a stock STI. I have about 10 less horsepower then a stock STI so in the straights they still beat me. I also live where the temp drops into the negatives and i havent had a problem starting my car, i dont really see what makes an S2000 cheap, howevr i do agree that RWD is more like a true sports car

@badSTI Ya my wrx is on tein coilovers with bilstein shocks. Only weighs 2700lbs to. Best handling car i have ever driven. I have driven a 93 skyline and its not even close to as agile as this thing. Just to expensive at the moment. I would take an sti over a s2000 anyday by the way. But an s2000 gives WAY chaper thrills. All jdm cars have something different about them that really makes them appeal to each person. Thats what I like most about jdm cars.
