  • oh that poor water, what did it ever do to deserve that..

  • F ing idiot

  • well, am not a pilot, but think, that if you accidentally land like this one, the best option is to switch of the rotor blades, not to try lift the helicopter. what an asshole.

  • really choppy seas today

  • Those choppers are floaters, why he didnt just stay in and wait for help...

  • :/ Erf the engine failed... R.I.P.

  • better call geico

  • why not kill it and jump??? idk peoples thoughts at the moment tho

  • If you listen to the narration, the guy actually states that this was a training mission, they were practicing landing on water to pick up injured people. The helicopter safely landed and took off, however once it got to about 3-5 meters, the engine failed, so it crash-landed again. While attempting to restart the engine and take off, he hit water with the blades.

Making jokes about situations when people die due to technical failures is kind of dumb.

  • well wadya think was gunna happen george?lol

  • "Help!" Shouted the helicopter, "I can't swim!"

  • No disrespect, but this pilot.....shouldn't be a pilot.

  • "How not to wash a helicopter"

    Black humour.

  • It's funny as hell. What kind of pilot drives the blades into the water? Is this a Russian training film?

  • OMG THIS IS SO BAD

JK LOL I PISSED MYSELF LAUGHING

  • Thumbs down for the moron who titled this vid.

  • shit, that really sucks.

  • WHY TF WOULD U JOKE ABOT THAT U ASS!

  • @gregboyds fail joke go kill yourself

  • can you tell me what happened was ther somthing worng or he did not fly well ????

  • @sertox12345 Actually this is an emergency manouver, and very risky. Landing was fine, but he misjudged the takeoff, as soon as the nose was under it was all over.

  • ooohhh the russians

  • @gregboyds

Don't you just hate those dumb fucks that try to make "in Soviet Russia" jokes, totally clueless about the played-out nature of the joke, yet still incapable of coming up with anything witty and just ending up making themselves look like total fuckwits?

    i do.

  • It appears as if he either lost power or throttled back after lift-off. You can tell by the rotor speed and tail rotor quickly losing speed. Where he messed up was trying to take off again with half the thing submerged underwater, which canted the rotor into the tail destroying it in seconds. He should have shut down and throttled back.

  • @Timmy2384

    Wrong!

  • pffff the pilot was so stupid...turn off the engine is the best solution

  • Don't make jokes about crashes! The Pilot and 3 other humans died by these crash :(

  • @Mr1lk3r but people die all the time.

  • @cantroos Yea but i hate people who make jokes about dead humans!

  • @Mr1lk3r what does a young zombie call his parents? Mom and Dead.

  • @cantroos ..and whats so funny about this?

  • Horrible.

  • are the pilots dead?

  • Why was the landing gear down for a water landing?

  • it was a test to see if the helicopter can go underwater that why the propeller was diffrent

  • why was he doing it¿?

  • Mi-8!

  • >.< I hate how people make little jokes about this. The pilot drowned and your making lame puns about it.

  • @nathaniel1995able he died??

  • @nathaniel1995able Actually, the pilot survived.

  • @nathaniel1995able I'm not to be disrespectful or anything but how did the pilot drown if that helicopter had emergency water floats?

  • @MtaBus5102 the helicopter floats, the people inside don't besides he was still strapped in, in a now ruined helicopter, he could of died when the thing came undone....

  • @nathaniel1995able HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA FAGGOT

  • @badellinger

Haha because I respect the dead? I shall laugh at your funeral.

  • @nathaniel1995able

well fuck him, theres too many people on this planet anyway. Ill be laughing when a catastrophic plague breaks out, ill be stoked for the planet!

  • @nathaniel1995able How do you know the pilot drowned? I sorta doubt it.

  • @viper8red

Because it was on the news

  • @nathaniel1995able No one likes a whiteknight!

  • @viper8red Seems lke at least 20 people like one so far...

  • @ReconEmbalmer no those people were thumbing up because they liked lame puns.

  • @nathaniel1995able The pilot didn't drown you fool.

  • @nathaniel1995able in Soviet Russia, we no care that he drowned. this display shows he was weak

  • he wanted to clean the blades

  • Pilot watched too many Bond movies..thought he had one of them thar Subtercopters.

  • Engine failure.

  • Nothing wrong with the landing? Every pilot has his own distinct style.

  • @CowBearUK well he landed fine and then he tried to kick it back up again, and it slung the whole machine around the rotor

  • @CowBearUK and his is Failing

  • o looks like the props just decided to go up watch the props carefully right before he goes down the props go up weird ???

  • In soviet Russia, helicopter washes you.

  • russian

  • defiantly wrong. Everyone knows you wash the back propeller first.

  • i'm pretty sure it's clean now, pilots and passengers included!!

  • Why wash ur helicopter like that

  • Yea I am inclined to agree with one of the engines loosing power, you could see the helo yaw hard before it started to drop, you could see him puling as much colective as he could but on one engine in a hover guess he could not hold it. I can see that impact poping some rivits and flooding the hull so even on both engines it would have been hard to keep the helo stable with water sloshing around in the belly. Watching the rotor strike the tail boom was pretty frightining too!

  • everybody knows that the Russians are the best heli builders in the world :D And no I'm not russian but Belgian :D

  • guess everyone commenting here is a pilot , ,. .all ive gotta say is that is pretty fucked . . .. ouch . .there goes a cool milli own. . .

  • Probably pilot just shouldn't been struggling in rush, i.e. trying to take off again without knowledge of wind direction.

  • It is not necessary so categorically - "idiot"!!! You do not know circumstances at which there was a failure!!! There was a refusal of one of engines!

  • @VitaliySP i agree. It`s funny how everyone is an expert in here.

    Norwegian

  • pilot was an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • when it landed, it landed so hard that the hull ruptured and it began taking on water, and when the pilot tried to lift off again it was unbalanced and weighed down by the water causing its nose to dive. I think 1 person died.

  • yeah that looks right too -

I have heard of seaplanes with the same problem except they often stall with the water rushing down the back.... if only he could have hovered in ground effect long enough for enough to drain out. He used all his rotor speed getting up out of ground effect - only one way to go then. Russian gear is pretty tough - he must have landed hard to start? Maybe rotor disc whatever that stalls the blades sometimes?

  • Ahh the Russians tried to invent a helicopter.

  • Youre a retard, the helicopter as we know today was invented by a russian-american man.

  • If you read my comment.. you will read "a helicopter" not "the helicopter".

    Who's the retard now?

  • it still floats

  • 4 ratings with 13,334 views???

  • should be 5 now...........

  • That's an amphibian, no? The copter was either overloaded or one of the floats was defective. It shouldn't have sunk that far down into the floats.

Once it was in the water like that, the only thing they could have done was get a tow. Or it might have been possible to very gently throttle up, and pull the copter up on the floats before trying to lift.

Either way, operator error. A pilot should never allow his craft to be overloaded.

  • I wouldn't worry about it to much, it's only a minor incident...uuuur well, I say minor!

  • this is GREAT news for me because I want to be in the Air Force and think about it if this guy can get into the Air Force I sure as hell can

  • at some point, maybe he was trying to recover from the crash.idiot though, lol

  • ok that is a idiot pilor... why didn't he stop the engines after he crashed????

  • OK, That broke!

  • wow
