@diliprai Don't you think you might need to feed the 500 MILLION Indians who live below the poverty line first? Indian infrastructure development is woefully behind China, and the UK, and you might need to sort that out first before you think about 'invading' anyone. I'm not a supporter for colonialism but the British did leave a lot of modernity and infrastructure in India, so without them you would have no trains, or Indian army, or education system. You need to take 'revenge' on corruption!!

@SenorSol YES i agree with you. actually i don't like british giving citizenship to the gurkhas. if the british wants to help the gurkhas, the best option is for the british government to help build nepal a railway network and other infrastructure like school, bridges in gurkha's homeland. british govt. should also help establish the british education system in nepal and british parliamentary form of govt. in nepal. i hate nepal legal syustem which is based on hinduism.

Communism is never as kind to the downtrodden or poor as it claims to be. The Gurkhas deserve more respect than you are giving them- you sound no better than those who discriminated against them in years past you yourself made mention of. @punanoj The Gurkhas are fantastic fighters, among the world's great fighting races. They gave stirling service to the British Indian Army of the Raj, and after 1947 to the British Army as well. However, I am not aware of any major battle that was won purely because of the Gurkhas; there was far more to British military success than the Gurkha regiments.

In 2003 I was in Iraq. Not as a soldier but as a historian paying tribute to the thousands who have died there in two world wars. Most of them did not know what the wars were all about - they were soldiers.
I stood at The Basra Cremation memorial and my eyes wandered through the thousands of young me and rested upon one which was to haunt me for several years. His name was RIT BAHADUR RAI and he was only 16 years of age when he was killed. That name on that granite slab still haunt me today.

Now the British Gurkhas have got their UK citizenship which they rightly deserved,
it is matter of time that we Nepalese and not as Gurkhas demand our territory return back to Nepal(Treaty of Seguli in 1816) which Nepal lost 2/3 of its territory which India is in possession now. UK never return back our land when it gave India it's independence and left Indian sub-continent for good.
If needed, Nepalese should bring this issue to the UN and World's Court.

Nepal was 3 times the present size. But the fcuking British change the map of Nepal.
British government gave the Independence to India but never gave back Nepal's territory when it left India for good.
But the British government still have the authority to tell the India that it should hand back the Nepal's territory to Nepalese but i guess British does not have the guts and balls to ever do that now.
