thumbs are not a form of rating. they are a form of a participation trophy. 5-star rating system was way better as a form of grading videos. if you really wanted to go crazy a scale from 0-100% would be even better, but that's just too far. the 5-star rating system was a nice middle ground and actually gave people on youtube the chance to grade a video, and also created more competition for the users who created them. also you wouldnt get dumb comments about the dislikes on EVERY DAMN VIDEO.
