im sorry but, CAN I SE SOME BLACK PEOPLE DOING THE THINGS OF THEIR CULTURE!! im sorry but it's just more authentic i can feel like im listening to someone who actually "knows" HIS instrument. everytime i type in something dealing with african culture a white guy pops up: the lute, drums, the kora, even dreadlocks! whats up with that? i think we need to start embracing or roots moor (pun intended)

The Krin is from Guinee and it is played in Mali as well. From the Toma people of Southern Guinea. Made of a white wood sometimes, but most often a harder wood that will hold up to the constant contact with the sticks.

I love the Krin but I think the Dumb Dumb presenting the video is a rank amateur.

He has the knack of making a great instrument sound boring.

Nice sounding krins. Usually they sound rubbish but these are nicely carved and tuned. Are they from Guinea?

There are a lot of 'white dudes' interested in African culture. He is Michael Markus, probably the best non-African djembe player in the United States. He teaches out of New York and is highly involved in West African drumming, dance and preservation of African culture. I've taken many of his workshops and besides being a great teacher, he is super funny too!

Can't see the original comments to which you were responding but I can imagine. I'm white and I've been studying djembe for the last 12 years because I love it. Is't it funny how the culture police are also always white (or at least not african)
