I really like that Oderus got his vocals down for Lust In Space, i've always really appreciated GWAR's musical talent, but something about Oderus's singing just really threw me off and i couldnt really handle it, but the improvement with this album is huge! It's almost a shame that GWAR has their shtick with the costumes and stuff, because if they didn't than this album would be considered the second coming of real, honest to god heavy metal. It really is a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade GWARs stage show for anything!

Gwar has gone through multiple lineup changes over the last 25 yrs, but the current lineup/album has put them, finally, over the top. I never had much use for their act or music until i heard "Lust in Spce". This album, from a strictly musical perspective, is as good as it gets. The power, melody and orginality of this album is something to behold. btw, lauding bands is something i very rarely do, but for a masterpiece like lust in space to go unrecognized would be a sin.

Sorry, it just bugs me when people hear any music with distorted fast guitars and double bass drumming and call it death metal. GWAR is Fantasy Metal. Death metal would be like the other bands on the same label... Lamb of God? RAQWWQQEHALAQWAUUURRRRRRRHHH..­. Thats deathmetal. Doom Metal is similar to Type O Negative (but they arnt just doom).

All in all GWAR could be classified under Heavy Metal or fantasy metal. ( i did make that up but it fits =p) Have fun.

This song is GWAR's most extensive masterpiece, I went apeshit for this song live, it is seriously within my top 5 favorite GWAR songs. I personally was not the biggest fan of Beyond Hell. Tormentor is badass live, since it doesn't include Devin Townsend's garbage vocals.

I say this in all serious that GWAR is really probably one of the best metal bands of all time, ever. I mean how many other bands have withstood TWENTY YEARS and is still consistently (and regularly) putting out stuff of equal or higher quality than they did when they were first starting out?

Factor into this that they've gone through what 20 band members? Forget Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, all the other metal "legends". If you can get past the comedy factor, GWAR really just tops them all.
