Good review. I liked your honest opinion. A bit more negative than it should be, but this happens when you come from a bigger game to something like Samurai 3.
I picked this up at the pawn shop earlier today for $10 it's not that bad of a game I enjoy it but yea its not for everyone and $50 does seem a bit steep for this game.

Awesome review. I don't know why so many people felt it was biased or something, I felt it was a fair review, still, if it was for the PC I'd buy WotS, cause I enjoy the whole (insert: Knight, Samurai, Wizard, Pocahontas) sim idea.
the best part of the game is probably just the fact that it's a samurai game, like you said, samurai simulator... if you're not into the whole samurai, experiencing the sengoku jidai-feeling 3rd person hack-and-slash, then i suppose you shouldn't buy this :)

I've watched only one other review from this person and that was Magna Carta 2.Lots of "official" reviewers like IGN, Gamepro, Electronic Monthly etc, typically gives games like that very low ratings do to bullshit nitpicking and just general bias.The review this guy gave for that game was refreshing.i feel the same about this review.
i have to agree with people saying its not really a review. cause review is not about opinion. any kind of judging has a system. if we talk about story, its how well it is, how well presented, followed and integrated into gameplay etc. its fighting game, so tell how fights commence, moves, weapons, combos, skills etc. Also talk about physics of the game. Id say get rid of so much slang and cursing, reduces your credibility. Characters also a good point. cheers!
This game is fun, especially for first timers. I like it but I do believe there should be at least a few changes such as, more villagers and so forth. Maybe even more huts and houses. However there aren't enough next gen Samurai games, so we got to take what we can get.

If I went by every review (especially negative reception) that I've ever read I'd have a lot smaller of a collection of games that I really enjoy. It's graphics aren't stunning (graphics aren't everything to me), it's combat is nice but it isn't groundbreaking for the series. I liked the music but the menu "clanks" and sounds are annoying. But the story and drama between characters keeps me hooked (its one of my favorite games ever). Funny thing is that I'd say I disagreed with 90% of his review but I *will* defend him on this: You guys are over-reacting. As a big fan of the series, I'd tell others that this game isn't for everyone.
I could tell this was going to be a bad review by the fact that the first 30 seconds of the video are a stupid animation about how good a reviewer this guy is.

personally i liked this game. it wasn't great and alot of what you say is true but i think there were some kind of charm to it. it really is a bad game but I really enjpyed playing it.
i think wut they shud do is evolve way of the samurai more like they're trying to do by upgrading the animation nd graphics to bring u more into the world improve the different stories and add a huge world like red dead redemption which will add a longer story but with different decsions and endings and make every playthrough very epic and make the fighting system like bushido blade so very encounter is realistic and always keeps u on ur toes and i think way of the samurai will indeed be a HIT

I like it so far but I am confused about something.
When I die it asks me to save then basically restarts. (shows the lead-ins loads trophy info etc.) Wtf!? So every time I die I have to wait a whole minute to get back into the game? I hope not because I'm sure Whity would have mentioned it. Please tell me there is a way around this. My last question is, how do you change your outfit and head? I know how to change accessories but idk about outfits.

I think the reason you couldn't enjoy the game is because the story DOES matter. You probably should've mentioned that and actually done the story and absorbed it, and not focused on the graphics or the music or the animations. I havn't played it yet, but WoS1's whole theme was a classic Kurosawa film, mostly Yojimbo. Unless, of course you're one of those gamers that doesn't play a game for story, rather play it because the media tells you it's good.
I bought this game for my little cousin thinking that it would be as great as the 1st one. What i hate is that there are not enough cinematics. Also, I agree with the fact there isn't as fun as it should be because it seems like there are a lot of components missing in the game. I do disagree with the graphics comment, graphics on this game were not that bad. Maybe ultimatechance is used to the latest in tech, but don't knock the graphics. Overall 6 out of 10. buy if you want to see dif endings

Did you ever play the first and second ones man? They weren't for everyone either. As for the controls and gameplay, if that video was any indication, you probably didn't spend more that 30 minutes playing. Story IS what drives this series of games. u can unbalance your enemy then one hit kill during a battle, it uses a push pull system similar to the 1st WotS the game finishes after i believe 14 days? or shorter depending on the path u choose or u can leave town and end the game anytime, the further into the story u choose u get u get more samurai points which u use to buy character customization stuff, u pick up and make swords and theres 15 endings, the game is meqant to be played through ALOT of times, one story can be finished fast
no, they're all hella good, this one takes alot longer to figure out and alot of ppl don't have the patience or desire to figure it out, if u liked one or 2 this one is great for u, the parry system is similar to the first one as apposed to the 2nd one which was way easy

I like the first one. Played for a long time. Off and on. On my top 10 favorite. But I have to say I am disappointed with this one. Not even the graphics that upsets me....Mainly the story.
Better physics, more roaming, scaling and climbing things similar to assassin's creed would have been nice too.

i think wut they shud do is evolve way of the samurai more like they're trying to do by upgrading the animation nd graphics to bring u more into the world improve the different stories and add a huge world like red dead redemption which will add a longer story but with different decsions and endings and make every playthrough very epic and make the fighting system like bushido blade so very encounter is realistic and always keeps u on ur toes and i think way of the samurai will indeed be a HIT

I like it so far but I am confused about something.
When I die it asks me to save then basically restarts. (shows the lead-ins loads trophy info etc.) Wtf!? So every time I die I have to wait a whole minute to get back into the game? I hope not because I'm sure Whity would have mentioned it. Please tell me there is a way around this. My last question is, how do you change your outfit and head? I know how to change accessories but idk about outfits.

I think the reason you couldn't enjoy the game is because the story DOES matter. You probably should've mentioned that and actually done the story and absorbed it, and not focused on the graphics or the music or the animations. I havn't played it yet, but WoS1's whole theme was a classic Kurosawa film, mostly Yojimbo. Unless, of course you're one of those gamers that doesn't play a game for story, rather play it because the media tells you it's good.

I bought this game for my little cousin thinking that it would be as great as the 1st one. What i hate is that there are not enough cinematics. Also, I agree with the fact there isn't as fun as it should be because it seems like there are a lot of components missing in the game. I do disagree with the graphics comment, graphics on this game were not that bad. Maybe ultimatechance is used to the latest in tech, but don't knock the graphics. Overall 6 out of 10. buy if you want to see dif endings

Did you ever play the first and second ones man? They weren't for everyone either. As for the controls and gameplay, if that video was any indication, you probably didn't spend more that 30 minutes playing. Story IS what drives this series of games. Also, you spent a large part of this video saying that the game "sucks" in more ways than one. You can give your opinion, but there is no reason to outright insult this game.

It's been out for months, and it's a best seller in Japan. It recently got released in Europe.
And this is a damn good, deep game. No other game offers it's experience. You can't compare it to God of War, they're two different types of games.
And Uncharted 2 sucks.

u can unbalance your enemy then one hit kill during a battle, it uses a push pull system similar to the 1st WotS the game finishes after i believe 14 days? or shorter depending on the path u choose or u can leave town and end the game anytime, the further into the story u choose u get u get more samurai points which u use to buy character customization stuff, u pick up and make swords and theres 15 endings, the game is meqant to be played through ALOT of times, one story can be finished fast

I like the first one. Played for a long time. Off and on. On my top 10 favorite. But I have to say I am disappointed with this one. Not even the graphics that upsets me....Mainly the story.
Better physics, more roaming, scaling and climbing things similar to assassin's creed would have been nice too.
I have a lot more to say, but I am just disjointed, and I am probably one of the biggest fans of the first. Second meh to me. But this one was only worth putting on craiglist for sale in my case.

If not ignorant and useless, your review was at least humorous for me. Now I usually can't trust western reviewers in this sense. Bias and all considered. I can tell your mind was made up before you began to play the game; independent internet reviews hailed as the industry's only hope for fairness left.
Either way I've enjoyed every one of these games and I'll speak it clearly. If you liked the previous two installments, you want this game. It meets all former aspirations and then some.
