@cbr600boi Lol, i don't know how to explain. Does Sti have a sensor on the intake where it controls the flow of the air? if that makes sense at all. lmfao, like Dsm(s)/Evo they have a little square box on the intake.
@jthaoz Yea, it's got a mass airflow sensor. It measures the airflow into motor. The blow off valve is a completely seperate piece of equipment though
@cbr600boi yeah that's how Evo are too. so you would need MAF. that's the thing to make you able to vent the BOV. if you were to vent the bov on a evo without MAF or w.e. it'll be running rich or differently. if you understand i am saying..again lol.
@jthaoz Um... i never installed a MAF. It came from the factory with one and i'm pretty sure all new vehicles have them. My blow off valve is Vent to air
@cbr600boi I think what he means is do you have to do anything to the MAF since it's normally a recirc. On Evos once you vent to the atmosphere it messes with the MAF since it's not getting the air it thinks it should be when you lift and can cause the ECU to mess with the timings.
@cbr600boi You have nothing to worry about. MAF is used to measure the amount of air through your intake. Be it cold air or whatever. BOV has nothing to do with that and actually relates to the turbines. If you are questioning if you have a sensor like this in your car, you do. Just wanted to say you have nothing to worry about as they are completely unrelated. It would be like me asking if you had to hot wire your catalytic inverter with brake light fluid while installing your BOV...
@Rapagangsta A COBB setup would be an accessport to tune your vehicle. But no my stage 2 setup was locally tuned using a computer to reflash my ECU. But to answer your question, A stage 2 setup can be anything that tunes your car for a turbo back exhaust system and an intake of somesort.
@nakedgun09 I installed the HKS SSQV in my '05 STi and I experienced waaaaay more turbo-lag, engine stumbling, and loss of throttle response even though I plugged the return hose. I later recirculated my HKS SSQV and all of these problems were resolved and my car was back to it's original state. PS I also run a stage 2 tune, with an aftermarket 3" turbo-back exhaust, and aftermarket intake. Check my vids to compare.
When the car reaches it's maximum RPM it opens up a different dimension and closes as soon as it opens because the gear is changed. =) Its a BOV (blow off valve)
@Hoffmada1994 - HAHA YES im fuckin kidding you. sorry its hard to express sarcasm with a keyboard. but ill work on it. i was looking at BOVs simply to see what kind of "psssh noise" i wanted on my 92 Mercury Sable with tan pleather. shes a beast and i want her to sound like shes sneezing every time she goes down the road cuz its badass. FYI: this message is intended to be read in a sarcastic manner and not to be taken litterally. Thank you and have a marvelous day
are you vta or recirc? i have an 04 wrx and i have surge problems with my turbosmart bov. im vta and have a cobb tune.
