Southern Soul Music.....beautifully done....the South has given birth to many son's and daughters who changed the landscape of American Music....this band is just one of the many bands and individual performers from the Deep South that this country owes a huge debt of gratitude....per Elvis, Allman Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Al Green, Ray Charles, J.R. Cash, Carl Perkins, Nat King Cole, Janis Joplin, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Holly, Hank Williams Sr, ...tired of typing as the list goes on and on
One of the first concerts I saw was MTB in 1977 with Toy Caldwell, still memorable. These Southern boys could sure sing and play songs that can still make my hair rise 35 years later.
Why are these guys not already in "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" ? I guess this just falls under my Bucket List of thing's I will never understand. Really we see all these bands going into the hall and I just have the ponder & wonder. Why these guy's are not in there? Tommy , Toy and George are already ~R.I.P~ This video sure takes me back in the day or I call them. The good old days. Well T.T.T.D has started a campaign to get them in.. E-mail / Call the RRHF and ask nicely. why?
Usually I listen to YouTube in the background while I work, but couldn't stop looking at this. I saw them so many times -- and I was ALWAYS front and center t concerts so I remember watching them closely. Dear God, they were the BEST southern rockers ever. Made you feel the music to the bone
The first group of inductees, inducted on January 23, 1986, included James Brown, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, and Jerry Lee Lewis. marshall tucker band.
Good ole Southern boys. Real Americans. Lead singer was a marine in Vietnam. He must have written his songs with a look to seeing life as better than the hell of war. In 1966, Caldwell decided to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam as an infantryman and continued to play guitar. He was wounded in 1967 and spent seven months in Japan. He was then redeployed to Vietnam.

One of the greatest songs of all time. Will be listened to forever or at least as long as any of us who grew up in the 70s are still alive.
