Oh yeah, and this footage is decently shot and edited, but the misleading thumbnail is complete bullshit. You should be ashamed of yourselves, and obviously are since you wouldn't preview your actual work.
@engxiong1980 - I was quite stubborn on that point myself for awhile, but honestly, if the footage is well-shot and/or the story/visuals are engaging, people can't tell the difference. There will, of course be exceptions; Branagh's 70mm Hamlet wouldn't have looked the same shot otherwise.
@engxiong1980 - Check out Kurt Lancaster's article titled "Why I dropped the Red Scarlet dream and bought a Canon 5D Mark II." Watch the short film on there, "Dream In Possible."
Red One does pass. And so do the Canons. It's a brave new world.
@engxiong1980 - I've tried to post the article link, but YouTube keeps giving me shit. If you google "why i dropped the red scarlet dream" it will return several results. The article is fairly long, but well worth it, and the short film "Dream In Possible" is embedded halfway down the page.
On a lesser scale, watch my short film "Still Dreaming" on YouTube. Written, shot, edited and rendered in 48hrs for competition. Shot with an $800 T2i.
Good editing but there is nothing to it other than that, it's like filming a duck swimming by the lake, oh yeah, I gave it a thumbs down as well for the deceptive thumbnail
RenchelJanisch are deceptive and looking for video views by posting thumbnails that are dishonest and abuse the right to post custom thumbnails. Christ, if you actually have something interesting in the video, make it the thumbnail. Otherwise you're just whoring up for video views.
i don't understand why people keep labelling things as "cinematic" when they aren't. This clip isn't cinematic. Cinematic is 35mm or 70mm. No digital has been able to get rid of the ghosting and shoddy motion blur yet. not even the Red One camera.
@allanpalmer12345 nope, the red is still not as good as 35mm. maybe in the next few years they might match it, but not yet. there is a reason why Wally Pfister, one of the greatest living cinematographers uses 35mm and 70mm IMAX film. When he switches to digital, then I might believe it.
@mugabesunny Who cares what it's called? And 35mm film has nothing to do with the term cinematic. Filming and editing techniques is where the term cinematic comes from. Cinematography=Cinematic. By your definition, no Pixar movie is cinematic right? This video is cinematic.
@WhiteBeltAcademy im not saying this clip isn't good, far from it. But it definitely doesn't have the cinematic look to it. It has the digital DTV style look. The cinematography is adequate but nothing that is on a par with something that is cinematic.
@mugabesunny Thats not what you originally said, you said anything not 35mm or 70mm isn't cinematic. This may not be movie theater quality, but it still follows the criteria of cinematography. Cinematic and Cinematography have the same definition, just used in different contexts. It may not be up to your standards (which, unless you are an established Hollywood director you should really consider dropping a bit) but it is still cinematic.
Seriously, I can't get over this. The only thing you did here is show that you could use the video setting on the camera. Then you mislead a bunch of people with a thumbnail that wasn't in your "film". I'm so happy I watched a "film" about a horrible looking car driving into a parking garage. EXCITEMENT
Excelento! In your opinion, which one is better, or you'd prefer most; Nikon D7000 or Canon EOS 7D? Please reply as I need to buy a DSLR camera with great video shooting capabilities. Many thanks
@Thylakine it's a DSLR (Digital Single-lens Reflex) camera with capabilities to film in hd...720p 24fps and 1080p 24fps..it's both in other words or the lines have been re-drawn, something like that :D
Very good video. Unfortunately I got a Canon 450D and some very good lenses about three years ago. I've bought more good lenses since then. I am going to upgrade to the Canon 60D shortly, but I much prefer the colour and quality of the Nikon D7000 picture . It just seems more natural to me somehow. But I don't want to let go of my lenses, they cost too much to start again.. Mind you if I did sell and get the Nikon, Canon would probably bring out something even better.
@mucalinda they already have 60d, you can also download custom picture styles that completely change the video profile of the cam, like "Crooked Path Films" and Flat+10 awesome settings and looks
This really shows two things, the quality of the video capture on the camera, and the excellent editing by the creator. Well done. Any specs on camera setting and lenses?
@dgillespie13 Did you watch the same movie? It's horrible a film has a beginning a middle and an end this had none. The movement was way too fast, moves were cut without apparent reason. Jump cuts arrrgghhh.
@dgillespie13 Nikon video has the best colors but Nikon still has moire problems just like Canon. Panasonic GH2 is the only one that does not have moire and aliasing issues.
The next gen cameras from all the companies are going to bring it.

When I edit, I usually use Sony Vegas Pro 9 or Movie Maker or iMovie and with all three the video lags big time :(
I record in video mode :NTSC. Is that the problem? Should I use Pal or is it something else. I'm talking about the Nikon D5100 by the way.
