..'we just write songs and it goes where it goes... what's psychedelic'? ... they were accused of being a bad interview but they were just being straight up and honest, didn't wanna play stupid media games. The Big Issue interview was a fantastic move
simply the greatest band of all time! the beatles were amazing but they never had the groove that the roses did. even if you made a super group of hendrix, lennon, jagger and moon, they still wouldnt be as good as the stone roses
I don't know if I love or hate the Stone Roses - the bad points - I don't get Fool's gold and I never will - they are the band that so many bands copied and them bands are shit. The good points - I'm slowly getting them (saw them in 85 at Fulham and wasn't impressed - they went down awful) - they are probably the only band of kids that did it from the heart - Bob Geldof dissed them for the album being voted number 2 best album - he couldn't handle kids doing it their way and getting away with it
Do die a slow and painful death? What kind of psycho are you? Thanks for that mate. Nice to see you got it all in perspective you reactionary cunt. Opinion.

I've seen a few of their interviews and they always look bored & tired , no energy or enthusiasm. These indie bands always tend to disappear up their own asses after a while.
disappear? they've just had a 20th anniversarry edition of their first album, its been named the greatest album of all time by loads of famous musicians such as the gallaghers, thats not really disappearing.
@kizzenzwaaah No at 0:03 when Mani is washing his hair its like ther really early stuff, its the Roses U can tell but its not one I've heard on Garage Flower album?
haha - fucking genius when john finishes his speech about painting, ian just looks to the others then says "its hard for us to act interested when we're not.."
LOUISORLEANS/why are u here watching them then, u must be worse then what u think of them I don't like oasis so I don't go to watch their stuff! they are The Stone Roses if after all they hav achived & all the following they hav & they are what U say WHAT ARE U? they are the stone roses ur a nobody ur a sad simplton watching their stuff!

Thickest band ever, musically on a par with Herman's Hermits. Bunch of shiesters & Charlatans. Ironically not the infinitely more interesting Charlatans. All done with a self consciously stereotype manc passive-agressive fake macho front whilst in some sort of mogadon trance. Trilobites to Oasis's neanderthal men.
and yet they have been consistantly recognised as having produced one of the top ten most influential British albums of all time by any source that actually counts for anything. People are still talking about their music and impact years later cos the huge effect they had - and will continue to do so.
I don't think anyone asked you to justify yourself either - it was probably a statement against the aggressive bollocks you've posted and a plea for you to either talk sense or fuck off
Yeah but I wish we had more matarial, but not as bad as the Sexpistols with 1 & A Half album & they still have a big following just fm 1 album we're lucky to have 3 albums worth of music & IAN Is getting better as the years go on (solo)
Wondering that for years, eh? It's a song called "Christine" by The House of Love, a band from London that were about the same time as the Roses, which is probably why it's on this video. They were a really good band and if you like the SR are probably worth checking out. They released 5 albums before splitting up and have a story of their own. While the Manchester thing was going on there was a good ammount of stuff coming out of London - MBV, House of Love etc.
This is footage of the band filmed in Willesden High Rd, NW10 and at Battery Studios round the corner. My mate used to work there and got me into the Roses back in the summer of 1989 when he was getting free copies of She Bangs The Drums and Fools Gold from the studio.
No - I taped it of the TV. Still got loads of old stuff from SNUB, Rockin in the UK, Big World Cafe, etc. And still have the old VCR. Watching this makes me a little sad though when you think what could have been. The first lp will always stand as a classic so we have our memories.
