NO dogs can take on a wolf, utter CRAP, 9 outta 10 times the wolf will slay the dog. There are some exceptions thou, but it doesn't happen often. I had a tough German Shep mix(molosser mix) but saying it can match a wolf? God that's stupid. Even a good sized bear would think twice before attacking an angry wolf mother...
@tenkaichi2master23 Sry the german sheperd is from my country and..they where there to herd the herd not to protect it they the have no chance against a wolf and bears look it up end they arent so teritoryal and werent bred to work alone they work with their owner by the sheep Livestock guardian dogs work alon thats why they are used to do their one thing and are harder to train
@tenkaichi2master23 Nice for you but this breed wasnt breed for police and train baility they where bred to protect sheep in russia(Georgia) from wolves bears and thiefs..a GSheperd is a joke for them they have it natural...
I dont think the intent of this video was to show how aggressive a CO could be with some prot/bite work training. this dog in the video was baited by a trainer, no dog is going to be that aggressive without training, or lack there of. I believe tha authors intent was to show you a top notch protection dog. Not all rottweilers can be competive in shutzund nor are all COs this aggressive, take it for what it is.
These dogs are not for fools, ego maniacs and playahs. They are working dogs, guardians, and they take their "job" seriously, willing to defend to the death literally. Because they were bred specifically for this, thousands of years ago, they don't need to be "trained" to defend and that video is just foolishness.
It's unfortunate people have exploited dog breeds to bring out the worst qualities of these animals. Clearly a breed that I would not dare want around children and could easily be a threat to others, his family and other dogs and wildlife. I have seen these dogs utterly out of control, pulling a fullgrown man into traffic and viciously trying to attack a bus while other dogs and children are on a nearby sidewalk.
I saw that show a couple years ago also. That guy was a moron. He had already gone through a Rottweiler, Pittbull, and I believe a Doberman that werent mean and scary enough. He was a little pathetic man. I owned two Rottweilers, brother and sister, that could walk down the street past anybody, but were protective of the home just from natural protective instinct. But the idiot you speak of was about 160 lbs. and the dog was(they said) 175 lbs. He had no control. Total loser.
It may have been. About two years ago. The guy was in his front yard and he literaly had to sit on the ground to try and keep, from what they said, his 175 lbs. dog from chasing cars. He wanted a dog so scary, the scary part was that he was the owner. Like I said, my two Rotts were well behaved and calm in public around people and other animals, the way they should be. The dogs they said he had previously should have been enough to keep strangers away just from the mere presence of the dogs.
Caucasian shepherd dogs are one of the best breeds i have ever seen. If trained properly they are like playthings for (family) children and loyal to their owners to the last breath. Extremely smart and independant.
Unfortunately they are often obtained by people who have no idea how to train them and know nothing about their character thus letting them gain a dominant position or even encourage them to be violent. People such as these are unfit to own dogs, especially caucasians.
Our family has a caucasian shepherd and she will only show hostility towards a stranger about to enter the house. Otherwise shes almost an equivalent of a toy:) She regularly plays with a 5 pound cat we also own (the dog is about 100 pounds).
Once again.. if trained properly its the greatest dog you will ever have, if trained poorly or not at all its your greatest nightmare.
Agreed. My ~70 kg caucasian shepherd will be four in march, and he still acts like a puppy. I've only seen him mad three or four times since i got him, and it was always in a defensive/protective situation, while other dogs barking at us. He is very friendly to other dogs though, be it female or male. Heck, he's even friendly to strangers coming to my house. =) So, I've got myself a real companion, friendly and playful and extremely protective at the same time.

Are you talking about that show in National Geographic Channel called, "Designer Pets?" They also talked about hybrids of dog and wolf.
