this is two skis clamped together. those are SKI boots. this is not a snowboard. also.. ride faster.. its fucking powder... why would u waste it with wide, slow turns?
oh yeah, Jones Boards are COMPLETE crap, they are made by Nidecker, thats all I have to say about that. Anyone who waits 3 months on a waiting list for junk like that sure doesn't know about "Snowboard Mountaineering" Using the Voile system there are no plates to carry in a pack. Snowboard boots are insanely more comfortable to use while skinning and obviously to use while snowboarding. This guy is funny talking about shaving off 1 pound LOL. useless...
This guy should not be giving advice. The Voile binding system is the best splitboard connection. Using a hard boot and at least not using a SCARPA or other telemark boot with a flexible design. Using a hard ski boot for skinning would just suck monkey balls. Also when in Snowboard mode riding in hard boots just plain sucks. I don't know how much "Backcountry experience" this guy has but it sure hasn't panned out for much intelligent information. And yes this is sure "his preferred setup" LOL
Correct me if I am wrong but all split boards that i was checking out are incredibly heavy.. and snowboarding with hard boots, damn..no way!!
