Yes the circuit is connected on the motherboard hdd led:
-if motherboad hdd led on --> hdd activity led meter on
-if motherboad hdd led off --> hddactivity led meter off

surely the motherboard HDD light is just on or off? how can you then make it into a level of use thing

@Splooshiba He must be averaging it over time, so if the LED is on 10% of the time it shows 10% and so on.
