  • Your correct, SUMMER WARS was excellent. Thanks for giving the heads up on SW's concept art. You are also correct, concerning African-Americans and Anime: It's Time For Us To Make That Next Step....We have a rapper on every street corner; they are excellent story tellers; but, we need to mix Moving Art, with are Music. Take it off the walls and t-shirts; and put it into books, and on the screen. Telling our own stories, and in a dynamic way.

  • damn i want all the three! SC is one of my fav animes, mugen is in my top 5 of fav characters.

    loved the afro samurai movie! and that storyboard is off the hook! i cant believe it look like printscreens from da actual movie.

    and last but not least... takeshi koike on afro... damn! i got shivers down my spine! hes like my fav animator of all time! this is all grrrreat! and inspiring! please continue doing your reviews! love them.

  • Thats really cool! Amazing stuff! My comic book stores near me dont really cover the whole anime and manga thingy but I sure would hope they did because after you showing this I just wanna go there and spend my whole money savings xD I would love to have some art books in my shelf!

  • I have a maxed out hard drive a few gigs worth of model sheets, reference material, inspiration from other artists, tutorials, etc. Plus I have a bunch of art books, and art instruction books. I've also been trying to by a few graphic novels to get inspired that way too.

  • OMFG LeSean your art book collection is great. I stay on Afro samurai and i wish i could get my hands on one of those books. Best references i have right now are is the art of Avatar, and bunch of manga and anime plus the internet. I hope to get my hands on some foreign art books like FLCL if i ever get the money for it

  • Your stash is truly inspiration, raw inspiration man! If you ever get the chance, pick yourself up a production book from Gainax. I personally feel they're one of the best animation companies producing work. : )

  • I have a lot of these kinds of books myself, Groundwork of FLCL is one of my favorites. I want that Summer Wars book though. And that Afro Samurai book by Koike as well! great vid!

  • man this is great, u reference from most of the stuff i like! Is there anyway i could purchase anything close to the first afro samurai art book u showed. I mean the perspective and elasticity of those layouts and drawings are amazing!
