If you are looking for quality, original, hassle free, inexpensive, legal soundtrack music for your next Youtube video or short film.... give "Rumblefish Friendly Music" a try. Just follow the link in the "About Me" section on my page. Only $1.99 per track. (Some good songs...not just library music)
I have a question for you guys, why did you copyright a video of a Nine Inch Nails live song, that I recorded @ a concert, if Trent Reznor himself gave us permission to record it a upload it?
@hitthedeckstudios You would need to have permission from the copyright holder of the sample you'd like you use. 2 resources to check out are the Harry Fox Agency and Limelight.
In the add stores section when I click on amazon or spotify a check box comes up that says: "Spotify: I have and control the world-wide rights to my Single."
Do I have that automatically or do I need to register for that, and is it required if I want my music on spotify/amazon?
@whitsoxdudeTechnically, your music is copyrighted the instant you create it. You aren't required to register your copyrights with a gov. office prior to using TuneCore, though many artists feel more comfortable registering them before distributing worldwide. No matter if you register your songs or not, you MUST own the rights to distribute them! So these boxes are just making sure you own the rights to distribute the music worldwide. If you've got more q's write us at support@tunecore.com
@MrMojoART We're working on more videos covering the other 5 legal rights, one of which is the right to "Public Display." This right does relate to artwork, photography and more. Stay tuned!
Can't we all get along? I like TuneCore and I also like Creative commons.. after all, CC offers many different options, there's not just one way to go with it. It's not the same as saying your stuff is in the public domain.
Maybe a silly question or maybe I'm missing something....quite possible..lol, but as soon as you write a song, isn't it NOT your song legally until you register with copy right office. Example: I write a new song and then run down to local club and peform it, if someone in audience writes down music and lyrics and sends overnight FedEx next day to Copytrght office, won't they own my song, leaving me no rights or proof it was mine??

@T92780 You own the rights to your song as soon as you create it. So registering your song is up to you, but it will better protect it, putting you in a better situation should there be a dispute.
