I actually purchased my XL2 early 2011 and have been struggling with it's 1/4 size image sensor and low resolution, I've hardly used it, still I've made some progress mostly in defeating mosquito noise but I still find it hard to shoot without aliasing in many situations. Still I have decided to start using it more and to purchase a Nikkor/XL2 adapter etc. Any tips? the xl1 video looks quite good I believe the XL2 should do better still.
Thanks for posting this. I never saw it before either. I do still love my XL-1A and I take it out for a spin every once in a while. I have some videos on my channel using my XL-1, check it out.
I want to get an XL1 or an XL2. The XL1 is about 2-3x cheaper so I'm thinking of getting that.
How reliable are these camcorders? Are they safe to buy used or will they break right away? I heard something about clean tape heads or whatever and am not sure how I can tell.

@2migell The XL2 is just a little more advanced and gives you more options. plus i think it looks cooler. i prefer the XL2 but some prefer the XL1
