  • Does it have Panorama ?

  • i have ,one of these truely love it ,i also have dslr,s a few its horses for course ,this does every thing u want ,10 out of 10 for a handy brigde camera,if you want crisp pics use a dslr simpl

  • As a noob photographer I chose this camera. It's built like a tank and the bottons are thoughtfully place. It does stay in my hands even if my grip is relaxed. It's got a crazy amount of features that will take me a couple of weaks to masters the learning curve is steep for noobs.

  • OK so it's not a DSLR... well yah, boo, suks! It's still a damn fine camera any way you look at it.

I've seen great photos taken with some fantastically expensive equipment, equally I've seen fantastic shots from an old 35mm compact... ah yes that would be because of the person taking the photo!

  • Hear hear to all those voicing the strengths of a bridge camera! I'm looking to get the S200EXR (sorry Lumix FZ38 lovers), as there are so many situations where I do NOT want to have to change lenses, and simply need the versatility of a bridge camera.

I suspect that DSLR owners assume that people are trying to progress 'up' to where they are, and don't realise that many people consciously *choose* not to own a DSLR.

  • @Intiom,

Exactly! Arrogant DSLR users. I am not against the slightly better image quality of a DSLR. But to spend insane amounts of money and the incredible weight whilst i travel? No thanks

  • Fellows, once and for all, the Finepix S200EXR is not a DSLR. It's a bridge camera... magnificent at that! ;-)

  • In the end it depends on the photographer. In my opinion a non-pro can do better pictures with bridges. A good rifle doesn't make a good hunter.

  • @1aMattes Actually, this is a bridge.

  • *S* 200... those canon comments confused me lol.

and btw SLR snobs crack me up.. we're not talking about a crappy little digital zoom point and shoot here!.. the traditional dividing line has become somewhat blurry so get over it lol

  • i know!!!!

i wouldnt even call them snobs, its not as if they are wealthier or anything for owning a dslr, people just prefer convenience. Im sick of those who come on here and watch a review for a BRIDGE CAMERA, and then start talking of their dslr. STFU! nobody cares, I for one can afford a dslr, but dont really need one. there is nothing worse than seeing an amateur with a dslr who acts snobby bcoz they have a dslr. unless you are a pro photographer u should really just shut up!

  • djfenderson is completely right, the SX200 EXR is not a DSLR, it a bridge camera.. but is the closest thing to one without actually having the single lens reflex. It will do as good (if not better) a job than most entry level DSLRs and costs quite a bit less. Especially once you factor in it's superb lens, which blows all entry level DSLR kit lenses completely out of the water. Also the EXR technology is very clever indeed. Imo the best bridge camera around and a better buy than many entry DSLRs

  • still, it makes better pictures than an average DSLR

  • That depents mostly on the photographer. As for image quality, any modern dslr with a proper lens gives you way much better images because of the much larger sensor in a dslr. Despite being a brilliant bridge, the image quality is less than that of a dslr. Especially in contrasty or low ligth scenes, this camera is no match for a dslr.

  • to wich of the canon cameras could you compare thisone to?

  • SX20 IS

  • what no? how could you compare a normal digital camera to a DSLR? the sx20 is - is nowhere near as good as this is,

  • S200EXR is NOT a DSLR, it's a bridge camera with a little better sensor then SX20 IS (1/1.6" vs 1/2.3") but both are far from DSLR lol. it has no interchangeable lenses, nor has it a mirror, it;s a digital single lens, but not reflex camera, it uses electronic viewfinder.. despite of it's size, it's still just a "normal digital camera" lol

  • read all the reviews. it's a entry level DSLR, I might not be as good as canon d50 or d500 but its still a dslr. digital cameras don't have manual zoom, the zoom is digital, that's why it's called a digital camera. you can read the specs, it's a ENTRY-level DSLR

  • It's NOT a dslr. A dslr has got a mirror to guide incoming light towards the viewfinder. This one uses the ccd to pick up the image and projects it in a small lcd, which is called an electronic viewfinder. Als this sensor is way much smaller than that one of a dslr, which translates in more noise and less dynamic range. It migth be a brilliant bridge camera, but it's no match for any modern dslr with a good lens.

  • @teundilles WE KNOW its not a DSLR nor is it advertised as being one. well done on stating the obvious btw, if he had the same size sensor as a DLSR then i'd buy 10 of them. and saying its no match for a modern dslr is like comparing a push bike with a motorbike

  • @UFBvoodoochild My comment was a reaction on the comment of @timoabrahams, who does say that this is a dslr. You have to read my comment in that context, without it, I indeed sound like captain obvious.

  • As for the reviews, elitezoom is just wrong, take any other review. It may look like one, but it isn't one.

  • lol. you seem to know very little about dslr cameras, please enhance your knowledge.

  • ahum, I own one of these I and use it daily, i know very well what this camera can do...
