  • Any chance of getting an outline of that dash insert for gauges?

  • Why did you shave everything off a racetruck? I mean it looks great, and rumbles, but thats alot of bodywork done to risk damage on a dragstrip. BUT.....I think its awesome. And i like the way you have the exaust. I give ya a thumbs up all day.

  • HI NICE TRUCK ,I WAS HOPING YOU COULD ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS,I AM PUTTING A 454, IN AN 80S MODEL S10 POSSIBLY 90TO 93,WHAT KIND OF FRAME MOUNTS AND MOTOR MOUNTS AM GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE,ALSO WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS AM I GOING TO HAVE WITH EXHAUST?AND IS THERE ANY STEERING ISSUES? I SURE WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR ANSWERS .THANK YOU .

  • like the truck.. im put that comp cam 595/595 in my motor with an rpm intake..write now i have a 561/561 solid comp cam with a stealth intake and at sea level it runs 11.30 at 122 with 92 oct. i have 4:56 gears with a 315/60-15 drag radial. the motor makes 511 hp. comp cam comp. said by going with the 595 cam it should make another 60 to 70 hp out of the motor. my truck wieght is 3000 pounds all steel.

  • Thats badass!!! i wish my s10 sounded like that

  • any overheating problems?

  • Nice truck

  • that's a beast and a hell of alot of engine for a small truck. i just finished putting a ford 289 in my 88 ranger 4x4 and it squirly as hell so i could only imagine what that will be like. me know how it hooks up. great looking dash too btw.

  • I'm guessing that one electric fan is just temporary? surely you'd need more than that to cool that motor. badass truck nonetheless.

  • Yes, it's just a temporary one. Thanks for the compliment. We put alot of hard work into it and it turned out pretty nice. We still have to finish the custom grill this year.

  • @DesselleRacing Im just wondering, not an insult, but that motor sounds prety mellow. It just seems like the specs on the cam arent that radical. Im not tryi ng to insult you, just wondering, why all that money in that sweet truck, but not much in the motor! Its a very good looking truck though, and for what it is, the motor does sound good!

  • Actually this video was uploaded before a rebuild. The guy I got the motor from lied about the cam size. During the rebuild, we stuffed a Comp Cam 294S .595 lift cam in it. We're still in the trial and error stage with the motor, changing one thing at a time until we get it where we want it. Thinking about a roller cam next and some better heads. Thanks for the compliments.

  • @DesselleRacing Man, i hate when people do that, lie about specs and all! well, a roller cam in my opinion is the best way to go, i have one in my 540 bbc. Its a 4-7 swap and lift is around .852/.876. i have it set up for achol, its not done yet, but geting there! Once again, sweet truck and good luck with the motor! Its gonna be a beast!!!

  • @DesselleRacing I love the sheet metel job, its looking good!

  • @DesselleRacing if its just run on the track one fan be fine, the way the truck looks it dont run on the street,

  • Have you weighed the truck if so how much without you

  • No, we have'nt got a chance to weigh it yet. As soon as we do, I'll post it.

    Thanks

  • i am doing a big block and your headers look really sweet , don't me asking are they sanderson,s flipped upside down . any help would be so great

  • Thanks for the comment. Yes, they are Sanderson's that are flipped upside down but you have to cut the flange off the header and turn the header upside down, not the flange and then reweld it. The flange cannoy be turned upside down, that's why you have to do it this way. Otherwise, it will block off part of the exhaust ports on the heads. I'll be glad to share any info you need so just ask.

  • I just graduated HS as well, your son is one lucky dude haha! I have an 81 C10 project that im building an engine for. Sick ass truck!

  • Thanks for the comment. The headers were built using a block hugger header that is turned upside down. The truck looks better than we hoped. I built this for my son that just graduated HS and going to college. We have since rebuilt the motor after this video and it sounds even better now. It is back in the shop now. The last time he took it to the track, he broke the pinion shaft and twisted both axles. Minor fix!!! No Dyno numbers yet, but it is running low 11's and is getting quicker.

  • thats the most bad-ass s10 exhaust manifold and header design i've EVER seen. THAT is just bad-ass. not to mention slamming a 454 BBC in such a small truck.

love the shaved handles and the shatter-proof glass.

any numbers on a dyno? would love to see times or number bro excellent build!!! much inspriation =]
