My Brother Ray, the peppers won't hurt the birds , I dry lots of different peppers to make my bbq rubs. I always grow way more of everything than I need , so I started mixing my dryed ground pepper into my bird seed it keeps the squirles, coons and bears away. now I scatter my ground pepper mix around the garbage cans and down by my mail box ( my neibour sometimes leaves a pie in there for me). it does not hurt the birds one bit.
Wait..so you didn't clip off the leaves? didn't you bury it a bit deeper than the plastic pot's height? and whats your opinion on pots- is the plastic better (to help get the plant and soil out)? thanks :)
@AhBbJeh Not on this one. Clipping off leaves is good to keep them from taking the nitrogen as the decompose. I used pure compost when transplanting so this isn't an issue. I personally prefer plastic containers. They bend and move to help loosen roots. Clay are heavy and sometimes hold the roots.
@TheFallguy11 I think it's strange that the chemical that causes the heat (capsaicin) that we enjoy in peppers is the exact same thing police spray into the eyes of methhead robbers as they come running out of the local 7-11 with armloads of stolen cigarettes and lottery tickets. :)
@hobbyguy217 5 foot tall 3" welded wire fencing surrounds the garden. Keeps the deer out. Also at the bottom of the fencing I attacked 2 foot tall metal hardware cloth to keep rabbits out. I have boatloads of deer and rabbits so it was a VERY good investment.
@Praxxus55712 Thanbks man i was just wondering because i have 5 acres of my own land and then boardering my property is 7 thousand acres of state land that i do what ever i want with because i live up in syracuse ny Beaver meadow. Its awsome. So i basically have the same setup that u got. Well thanks a bunch and good luck farming!!!!
Praxxus, I love your videos, precisely for the reason you said... It is fun for you! That makes it fun for me! You rant, or you go off on a tangent or you tell a random story... it's all good. I love your videos! Please keep 'em coming!
LOL, give it to the chickens, there's a visual. I don't know what one would do with all those thai peppers. I did a banana pepper this year, but those aren't as spicy.
yay planting outside! not doing it here yet.. still a bit too cold at night and i heard peppers here don't do so well. although i started all mine really really early so hopefully they will still grow well. if i can get them out there in warmer conditions.
That's ONE pepper plant? Holy cow!! Simply amazing wow! I'm glad you are NOT scientific with your videos cause that would be so boring. You make gardening fun for me because your videos make me laugh and your advice WORKS! So, don't stop "winging" it lol.

I love how simple you make gardening. You help the ordinary person who is not an expert (me!) feel like it is doable. Plus I love your humor...

chickens and all other animals will not eat hot peppers with the exception of man. We are the only dumb ones to enjoy such a fruit.

birds don't have the same nerve endings as people do. they don't feel the capsaicin =D feed it to them and it'll be fine.

im pretty sure chickens do not have the receptors that register heat. I give my birds habaneros all the time and they love em

Feeding Thai peppers to the chickens can have 3 foreseeable consequences:
1. Immediate “meep-meep” roadrunner behavior.
2. Pre-spiced chicken wings.
3. Deviled eggs.
LOL... This, Ladies and Gentleman is an example of my fantasy at work... I either need to get a job in Hollywood, or change medications.

Our rabbits go crazy for hot peppers. My guess is that they must not taste hot to them like they do to us.
