  • No offence, but most of the shots that tsonga made were luck. He also apologizes for most of the shots. Of course he ment to play volley short behind the net but not that short and the banana shot hit the net.

  • Indeed he does at 1:25 telling Nadal how to do a banana shot properly :)

  • Tsonga is gay

  • I bet Tsonga was listening to real nigga roll the whole time he played

  • The only thing Tsongas can show Nadal is a trophy case without a major tournament.

  • he played on the net like sampras did !

  • he fucking destroyed him

  • @TIMTEBUST lmfao!

  • @TIMTEBUST hater gon hate ;P

  • tsonga just dominate nadal here...

  • Tsonga made the match of his life. I don´t think he´ll ever be able to repeat it against an in form Nadal

  • this is abest match ever for tsonga

  • like a boss

  • federer will eat them all . . .nyahahaha.

  • Does anyone know why literally every single player blows onto their hands when they finish a point?

  • @SourceNeon lol. calling for towels

  • @SourceNeon their palms get sweaty

  • @SourceNeon probably because of the sweat or to cool them down, i actually do that sometimes for those reasons.

  • A player doesn't become a myth just for a good match...

  • Amazing Jo...his stop-shots are invincible..was that 2008 Aussie aoapen???

  • tsongas best tournament of his life.

  • Tsonga = Boss

  • Haters will forever hate...GO TSONGA ^_^

  • Tsonga a household name? dont get too far ahead of yourself lol

  • Why would you dropshot Tsonga...? He's too good at the net.

  • Wow, Nadal has really changed his service motion since 08...

  • @robbiedigital79 yes, he has changed 2 times since then

one in 2009 and one time in 2010

  • um didn't Nadal end up winning the tournament?

  • @nikefootballer09 how can he win the tournament..if he just got knocked out of it?

  • @JordanMT91 oooohh 2008? I thought it was 2009.

  • 2008 ?

  • Tsonga has an awesome drop shot..

  • Jo-Wilfred is an extremely talented player- curiously he displays many of the traits that exemplify other French players- clean hitting, soft touch, and great instinct. Talent is a tricky term and it is unfair to say Rafa is more "talented" than Tsonga and vice-versa. The popular argument here might be that JW possesses more "natural talent" (like Federer) than Rafa, but the counter to that is if that's the case, why does Rafa has more slams? The intangibles like mental toughness

  • @sarasmilepiano shot selection, motivation are things a champion makes. It may also be noteworthy to mention that Rafa "matured" earlier than many of his counterparts and thus has a significant advantage of experience (handling the pressure) at the highest level. In terms of skill, which many like to use interchangeably with talent, the difference is so marginal between the two. And it makes it even more difficult to judge because their contrastive style (flat vs topspin).

  • Nadal and federer are the greatest of this generation end of disc.. the rest are just runners up that have been in the shadow of nadal and federer for 4-6 years.

  • @imavaughanstar if Tsonga plays always like that, he would be #1. There's just moments when your best tennis shows and he was on hes. And btw i have atp points and i'm not a noob =).

  • @fabriziominelligomez lol yeah, sure you have ATP points...if you are as experienced a player as you seem to think you are, then you would know its not about how well you play on your best day, but how well you play outside that 5% of the year. You seem like a noob who could learn a lot from Brad Gilbert. No shit if Tsonga played like that all day he would be number one, but obviously he can't, otherwise he would be number one wouldn't he, so why even hypothesize the ridiculous?

  • People always reference this match to suggest that Tsonga is infinitely more talented than Nadal, but tennis noobs are always forgetting that Tsonga hits the ball that flat and with such power that his consitency isn't even a tenth of what Nadal is capable of. In the post match interview, when asked whether he worried about Tsonga as a player Rafa said "No, cause he can't play like that all year round." That's why Rafa has ten slams to his name and Tsonga has only made it to one slam final.

  • @imavaughanstar True, Tsonga can't played lights-out tennis everyday, but he is getting more consistent, is a Top #5 player, or Top #3 if wants to be. He made the finals (and won one) in his last three tournaments and might be the surprise GS winner this year.

  • @sarasmilepiano not really...the guy switches to a one handed backhand frequently in a match...that sends signals that he obviously doesn't have confidence in his standard two-handed backhand. Every aspect of his game is ugly, serve, groundies, everything, its no wonder he has to go for broke on every shot and misses every third ball. Going for broke is not standard play, it is desperate play.

  • @imavaughanstar Obviously you are not a Tsonga fan and neither am I really, but results don't lie. He is getting better and will be a serious contender for the majors this year and next. The reason why he isn't in the top 3 or 4 is consistency; on the other hand, Rafa is epitome of that. You can't deny JW is one of the most athletic and agile guys on the tour and his brand of power tennis will give anybody trouble. Ugly? Desperate play? That is a matter of opinion.

  • @sarasmilepiano what opinion is there in science? If you flip a coin, 50% of the time you will get heads, and 50% of the time you will get tails in the long run. The same science applies for tennis. You can't expect to to be successful in the long run with high risk play, which is Tsonga's style. Throw in as big a serve as possible, flog a forehand, hope for the best. Gets the winner once, tags the net/goes long/opponent tracks it down the other three times.

  • @imavaughanstar As to the single-handed backhand reference, there are two ways you can see that: one- he is stretched out and the only way he can hit the ball is with one hand and second- he is a showman and aims to impress and showcase his talents (nothing wrong with that). I think it's a bit of both- JW's wants to mix up his game and impress the crowd going for the flashy winner. Maybe he's thinking of switching (doubtful).

  • @sarasmilepiano well yes, I'm sure that showmanship will earn him a grand slam one day...I'm sure it will help him overcome other qualities that the great players possess, like consistency, great defence, great footwork, net skills, great offence, the ability to upset a player's rhythm...yes, I'm sure if Tsonga beats his chest enough times he'll eventually break down the superior skills of the greatest players of his generation, such as Novak, Rafa and Roger...lol

  • That was so cheap... he was only lucky he got those shots in.

  • Tsonga is my hero! But I like Nadal too :)

  • lol tsongas under rated? how can you be underratted in tennis? you win matches you go up you lose matches you go down. thats the dumbest top comment ive ever seen

  • yet tsonga = 0 slams nadal = 10 and tsonga is a year older then him

  • 0:56 LOOL!! at how Tsonga calls the ball boy to give him the towel!!

  • This Is The Day where People had discovered Tsonga!!

  • Hope one day Tonga will win a slam.

  • Comment removed

  • 49 people are rafa fans

  • @TYphoon7300 I think there are a few more than 49 Rafa fans.

  • They both hit the ball much harder these days

  • well i guess Rafa's gud times have gone now.. :(

  • wow rafa was so small then

  • i remember watching this and thinking to myself, "oh shit."

  • ya pues mamaselo a Tsonga marica !

  • Tsonga is my favourite player. He deserved so much to win the Australian Open .This is unfair.

  • This looks like Mohammedd Ali Tsonga spanking Rafa Liston

  • Tsonga is underrated and inconsistent. He is wasting his talent. He has atleast two to three Grand slams in him. If he does not get those, I think he will have wasted his talents.

  • Tsonga is underrated and inconsistent. He is wasting his talent. He has atleast two to three Grand slams in him. If he does not get those, I think he will have wasted his talents.

  • Tsonga has never reached this level of tennis again thus far.

  • He isn't really "showing how it is done" seeing as nadal has 10 grand slams... Tsonga has an o'fer

  • if you can beat nadal and federer and your so underated someone just does not like u

  • So glad Rafa is over the sleeveless shirt and long shorts look.

  • mohammed ali hang up bowing gloves and use a racquet instead. K.O.

  • Because Tsonga won Nadal in a game that makes Tsonga bigger than Nadal? Certainly not. And even if that occured the tittle Tsonga is *showing* Nadal how to do it is just kiddish and dissapointing.

  • i love seeing Rafa getting thumped. His mind trickery didn't work this time! epic performance from Tsonga.

  • Tsonga playing style is just fantastic.Could watch his Tennis all day :)

  • Nadal suck!

  • Do you guys think Rafa took steroids around this time? I mean currently, I don't think he is. But he was huge... I dunno, just thinkin'.

  • tsonga is the black horse from the tour

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but Nadal is just forehand...

Tsonga has touch, class..all the shots in this match.

  • @ArjunJethwa you are wrong

  • @ArjunJethwa Yeah thats why Rafa just whipped him today 6-0 6-2 6-4 i think.

  • @Jake1985Nazar Yeah some pointless dead davis cup rubber. This is a SLAM SF, a chance for a player to reach their first hard court slam final. Tsonga was boss in this match.

  • @ArjunJethwa Uhh if it was pointless why did Rafa, Novak, Roger, Tsonga, Ferrer ALL go out for them. Yeah some pointless rubber my ass. Ohh wait Nadal has been in COUNTLESS GS SF uhh Tsonga has been in like 3. Nadal has 10 GS Tsonga has ZERO. Nadal has the FH, return of serve, and a good serve. Tsonga has a Serve and a FH thats all.

  • @Jake1985Nazar, not that the person to whom your message is addressed is correct or anything, but let's get real here. The only reason why most of the big names, including a few you've mentioned, are playing Davis Cup is to qualify for The Olympics next year.

  • @TakeshiMomoshiro Yes i very much understand that but did you see Djokovic after having to retire in his match against Del Potro he BALLED HIS EYES OUT. You so how much it ment for him there i'm sure it means a lot for Ferrer and Tsonga also. Rafa i question a BIT becuase he does not always go and has only played 15 Davis Cup matches i think. I truly question Roger and Murray's commitment though.

  • @Jake1985Nazar Nadal good serve? LOL. If you take your Rafa-bias aside, Tsonga has all the shots - backhand and net game too, net game far more elegant and effective then Rafa's basic level volleys. As seen in this video.

  • @ArjunJethwa

Honest question, if you believe Tsonga to be so much better than Nadal, why isn't me at a much higher ranking?

  • @mrwho995 He's not consistent enough. Thats it.

  • amazing... tsonga is boss

  • grunting is so annoying

  • @mrfullofhimself You're not the one playing tho? It's not annoying to them and helps them play better, nothing wrong about it

  • @MrOssumAnt his name says it all...

  • @mrfullofhimself If You Were Hitting The Ball As Hard As Nadal.....You Would Be Too!

  • @MasSKiLLiNN i hit harder... xD jk

  • Whoever made this video is an idiot! Yea, Tsonga showing Rafa how to do it??? Tsonga is all hype. He has yet to win shit. In fact, he and Monfils are probably the most over rated players on the tour! I think it is because they are black! They are good player but they are not great! Rafa is a great! Tsonga is simply not!

  • 0:36- "You cannot do that."

    Tsonga- "Bitch, I just did."

  • Tsonga shouldnt have switch to babolat

  • Tsonga, your time will come.you can beat Federer and Nadal, but the only player that you are having problem to beat is Djokovic. But I am quite sure that nothing last forever.Your time will come.

  • It's nice when an aggressive player win against a defender, like Nadal, who see only with the lift...

  • Dude... Tsonga looks JUST like Muhammad Ali

  • nadal played great, but tsonga...he was more than amazing !!!

  • Tsonga's expression at 1:32 - "Err what? This is it? That was kinda easy..." haha

  • This was in 2008 if I'm not mistaken. Nadal's game has changed, to say the least. Dumb title. Not even worth posting.

  • @SidMute

u mad bro? This was a crushing if i ever seen one. Give credit where credit is due, Tsonga played lights out to beat Rafa here.

  • @gargarensi Nope. Just stating a point. Apparently people don't understand that. Yep, Tsonga was great. For one day. Good for him.

  • @SidMute

Envy and jealousy get's you nowhere.

  • @MacAgentRS Yeah and what is Tsonga doing now? Do you know the definition of jealousy? I'm stating a point.

  • Tsonga has got the world's attention

  • 0:30 Stunning half-volley...

  • Tsonga has amazing luck.. the other day, he beat Federer..

  • game of his life

  • tsonga is so underated

  • @cw270693 , the results judge whether he's underated or not. No major wins so... still to probe how good he is.

  • @cw270693 Not by me. When he is on he is unstopable.

  • @cw270693 there's no being underrated in tennis. All that counts is results. His results just aren't good enough.

  • @damnnnhen how can he be not good enough he got to the wimbledon semi final this year by beating federer and got the quarter finals of the US open? He has the skills to be a world class beater mainly with his offensive play

  • @cw270693 absolutely right, but what do you want us to call him then? The best tennisser there is? No, he just doesn't win enough. And that's when I say: There's no being underrated in tennis. We now see him as a plain 'good' tennisser but what should we think then?

  • @cw270693 and sometimes very overrated

  • nadal far better

  • free lesson

  • wow.. lots of athletes in blake griffin's family.

  • Reminds me of his match with fed recently

  • Nadal is not that good any more

  • @ihatexboxsomuch1 youre dumb

  • @ihatexboxsomuch1 Never has been that good. He is just a beast, so superior in stamina, strength and speed.

  • tsonga totally raped nadal this game

  • whoa.

  • @hieutee he also played some fabulous tennis against djokovich at the wimbledon semis this year. He's so much more entertaining to watch, too.

  • Novak Djokovic - the best on the world !!!

  • tsonga may nt be able to win a grandslam, but certainly can eliminate the top seeds..its just irritating..

  • why do they always have to do that gay moaning everytime they hit lol

  • Nadal seriously looks more invincible with sleeveless top, who made the decision to change what he wears on the court anyway? Nike?

  • there's something really likeable about Tsonga

  • great

  • You stand in the way of a Tsonga serve......you die. Lol

  • NADAL AHORA SABE PORQUE NO ES LO MISMO "UN METRO DE ENCAGE NEGRO" A QUE "UN NEGRO TE ENCAGE UN METRO" JAJAJAJA

  • Nice to see someone beating Nadal.

  • @metsot nice to see some black fuc*ing nadal hahaha

  • Tsonga is the new King.

  • anyway he has defeated nadal at the queen's the other day and federer at wimbledon a few minutes ago...

  • lol i luv the last bit "superstar"...whoz 1st seed now bitch :)

  • Comment removed

  • Got to love ol BIG Jo

  • tsonga = certified beast

  • I love the sprint @0:46

  • Tsonga has NOTHING to teach Nadal .

  • @zinesilol88 haha idiotic, tsonga has fu*k nadal with his huge black dick

  • Tsonga must play like that at Wimbledon =)

  • Oh yeah ! Gratz Tsonga ! I'm french but it's true Nadal was in a bad day !

  • Sometimes, a tournament is a player tournament of his life. No matter who is player against to, the tennisman is unstoppable. Tsonga was so close. We all see Delpotro winning the USopen. I wonder if he will do that again? When a player beat nadal, he become a little better. Maybe the selfconfidence can do miracle? I was unhappy when i see Nadal loosing but happy for Tsonga. I play better then Nadal on this match and deserved to win. Vamos... Tsonga! lol Nadal is still the best. :P

  • tsonga had a good day, nadal had a bad one. nadal > tsonga any day

  • very good match from tsonga and great sportsmanship from nadal. He deserved to win!

  • Tsonga es el jugador más tonto del circuito.

Me refiero a que su materia gris es similar a la de una ameba.

  • 30 people need to hop off nadal's dick

  • He did the same thing to him at Queen's yesterday:P

  • Later, Nadal shows Tsonga how it should be done.

  • (just took the first set against murray at the queens)

  • *sqeak*tap*sqeak*tap*sqeak*tap :D love tennis

  • annnnd THATS why tsonga is the world number one tennis play......oh wait....hes not

  • lol guys watch the match Tsonga vs Murray 2morrow. ill be there in the croud shouting "Tsonga Bumaye!". Thumbs up for after if you heard me saying it.

  • @plutity "negro looking". Really? Are you tying this post from 1950? What does it matter what he looks like anyway, it's tennis... you need to fix the focus on that lens of yours.

  • Tennis at this level is a sport of great athleticism and agility similar to basketball. It's a shame how ESPN still treats it like it's played by weak little men wearing long white dress pants and drinking tea.

  • i would eat a live kitten to have hands like tsonga

  • one of the very few times i see nadal gettin owned =D

  • ha ha!

  • 1:39 LOLLL 666

  • nadal showing tsonga how its done by winning 10 grand slams to tsonga's 0...

  • @pascal0cygans0head BFD this video is not about nadal's grand slams. it's about how he got spanked in this match.

    deal with it please. DAMN!

  • nadal tipic non recognition for the "unexpected" winner just shakes his hands says two words and goes off

  • lets see them on clay now.

  • Uploader ur real funny. The guy who's won absolutely nothing showing the man whos won 9 majors and countless other titles "how its done". And tsonga isnt even a household name in france.

  • tsonga's a bitch man

  • Amazing...Tsonga obliterated Nadal, unbelievable

  • Comment removed

  • @littleman787 But Nadal obliterated and hammered Federer so many times and that's acually far more amazing .
