  • all the vids I've seen of this being tested, people don't hit the target on the first shot, to me that is a problem especially in a life or death situation, I wonder if there is a way they could make it that it shoots wider to ensure coverage. In short I think this would be perfect for shooting somone very close to even point blank.

  • The only reason he could run around was because he saw it coming and was ready for it

  • I've used regular pepper spray on a determined attacker standing between me and the only exit. The attacker did not drop to the ground writhing in pain...but he immediately turned away from me and ducked...just long enough for me to kick his leg out from under him and run away past him. I'm alive. I'm a believer. Don't know if this stuff works but pepper spray in general certainly does. Notice how the recipient, although experienced, immediately turned his head away. That's all you need.

  • @Toyman07

I think Toyman must have missed his afternoon nap or something, he seems a little cranky. I still stand by what I said. Sure you don't stand still but if this guy can calmly jog around after two shots then some thug high on PCP isn't even going to blink for a while. From all the videos I've seen it looks like the stream style aerosol OC sprays are much more effective at stopping the bad guy quickly. YMMV

  • Has anyone tried the "milk cure" that people use when eating a habanero or suchlike? Seems like it might work.

  • Thanks for the feedback- These are certainly viable defensive tools that fill a certain role- where the range and effectiveness of the formula is a plus, the fact that you get two shots is a downside. Its very important to take a look at what you need when you decide on a less-lethal tool. Personally if its possible, I carry a Piexon JPX Projector- but then again, its fits my needs. Take care all- Trek

  • I have been using this system since 2006. The first units we purchased were black and looked like a pager. I have tested several of them and they work very well. They always fire, no blow back, no drifting, leaking or loss of pressure. The main problem I found with aerosol OC is the pressure in the canister is inconsistent and there is a gradual reduction in pressure with age, This system eliminates those disadvantages and it is the most potent OC solution I have tested. Its sticky like syrup.

  • Bought this for my wife, showed her the video, thanks for testing this. It was nice that I could show her what to expect out of this, that it isn't going to put someone down like a gun, but it does afford a person a chance to get away in a bind. She works at a school, so guns are out of the question, but I'm hoping this is a suitable plan B. Thanks again.

  • .....knew what to expect. That formula is second in pain only to freeze +P in my opinion and the Kimber PB II is my EDC when not requiring other tools for some of the work I do. Hope this helps! Stay safe- Trek

  • Hi all- thanks for the comments and for checking things out. firstly- this was a live unit- what we need to take away from this (and alll OC for that matter) is that OC wont stop a motivated person. What we can expect is that the physiological effects will happen 95% of the time (eyes clamped shut, trouble breathing etc) - Psychological effects like panicking and running away are a bonus but never guaranteed. When I was hit with the Kimber- I had experienced roughly 10 OC hits prior so I ....

  • Either you're Superman or this stuff doesn't work very well. I would hope that if I used it, my attacker would be screaming and hyper-ventilaing...not talking in a normal tone of voice. You should do another video and cry like a baby...then I'd buy this brand! Since you guys test this stuff, maybe you could recommend something that is more kick-ass for me. Thanks, Trek for being the test subject!

  • @888magic I agree. The fact that after being shot in the eyes with this at such close range he was able to run across the field, pick something up, run back, and give it to his partner there without stumbling or searching around... if that were an attacker/attackee situation, it would have ended with a pepper sprayed attacker in immense pain and a bloody corpse with a dozen stab wounds.

  • @fresnel149 When people train to carry OC spray as a part of their job (security etc.) they qualify by being sprayed in the face with a dose at close range, and are then required to perform tasks. It would seem that if the people training could do it, you would wonder why they would bother carrying the spray. However real life attackers aren't usually so clear headed, and while they may still attack, they are usually seriously hindered making escape more likely for a potential victim.

  • @888magic as you can see from the blue color of the liquid, it is just an inert version with no irritants, it is just supposed for training

  • Thank you for doing this guys. This is valuable information and you are real men.
