Rush, King Crimson, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Dream Theater, Santana, Jimi Hendrix... I'd never even heard of most of these before Guitar Hero, now Rush is my favourite band for god's sake! It was part of the agreement between tool and the makers of GH for the custom stage to be there whenever the tool songs are played, Tool never releases their music in anything but a store bought album so I imagine they wanted a couple of things for the maker of GH to use their songs =P

Exactly. Since there is three Tool songs on Guitar hero: Parabola, Schism, and Vicarious. They had to combine the Tool's albums Lateralus (personal favorite) and 10,000 days. Which was released in 2006. The backround you see is from 10,000 days and lateralus. The eyes and faces are from the 10,000 days, and the eye with the flame looking thing with the snakes are part of lateralus I believe.
