People slam Gaga all the time, she's strong to keep going and ignore all the pathetic criticism. She might have come up with this whole brand for herself with 'monsters' etc, but it's still about the music and her art still comes first. How are people comparing Ayumi and Lady Gaga? All of these people you are listing aren't the same AT ALL. You say Lady Gaga was normal before she became famous, right? Well, isn't everyone? I'm sure Ayumi was normal too. They just both happen to be very creative artists. Lady Gaga DID NOT copy Ayumi, neither did Madonna or others you are foolishly suggesting. They're all amazing and unique in their own way.

I adore this woman's voice. After listening to the hundreds Western singers incapable of actually singing sans autotune, she is a goddess.

A lot of people prefer Utada's voice and others, but Ayu's is my favourite.

I'll readily accept that she's more of an emotional singer than a technical one, and for me that's not a bad thing. It works for the kind of songs she writes. That is true. Ayu even stated herself at one point that she was a product. Doesn't make her any less talented in my opinion, tho. ^^ and at least unlike a lot of other singers like herself she writes all her own lyrics and has even composed a load of of her own songs, like Evolution and M. In my opinion, that means she is an artist, even if she did start out as, and really kinda still is, Avex's "product". :)

What shocked max matsuura was when they were exchanging letters, was how good she was at expressing herself she writes it like poetry so he encouraged her to write lyrics, she started out having little control but look at her know she does everything.
