• fuck anybody who says videogames aren't/cant be art

  • @zion50500 damn right ^_^

  • Any FF6 is greatly appreciated...Nobuo, you are the brightest star in our musical heaven.

  • WOW !!

  • Wow that page turner's sure doing a fine job!

  • The mere fact that it begins with The Omen from Final Fantasy VI automatically wins it the good prize.

  • This whole arrangement is incredible. Definitely one of the best ever made for this game.

  • 9:38

The bandana that started it all. :)

  • @RoyAndKimble Huh? Bandana? I dont get it, pls explain

  • @Karldaj That is Nobuo Uematsu... his bandana is practically a trademark.

  • One hand, skill.

    0:31

  • If ya guys are wondering about the song played at 3:40 and 4:50, it's actually excerpts from a long unused FFII song known simply as "Battle Scene 3". Search it up on youtube and you can see the similarities between these. ;)

    I never thought I'd actually see the song used officially in anything... o_0;

  • @GrandMageFang No kidding. That was a very pleasant surprise!

  • Composed by one Master, set into Orchestra by another: Purple Motion. (Jonne Valtonen)

  • @l0rdf0lken Jonne Valtonen is no doubt a master, but this piece is set into orchestra by Roger Wanamo.

  • Go Finnish dudes!:D

  • The Boundless Ocean, finally get to hear it performed live. Such a beautiful song, it's a shame it's so rarely performed live in similar performances.

  • @Nujaflipper Thought exact the same thing...

  • This sounds like true classical composition.

  • I really admire the pianist. I admire them all, but if one performer makes a mistake they can generally blend in with the other instruments playing the same notes at the same time. The pianist here is right up front and any mistake is heard without a doubt. He did amazingly.

  • @redcloud02 I heard a wrong note at 12:49

  • @Devilbat74 There's also one at 12:47 :D

  • awesome.... pianist Benyamin Nuss!!

  • Holy shit, am I really hearing the greatest rendition of my nostalgia fuel? I can really die fulfilled now.

  • I can die happy now.

  • @milkjamjuice That's what I said after Symphonic Fantasies. I wish they had done one dedicated completely to Final Fantasy.

  • 8:28 always tears me up.

  • No doubt, this is the best arrangement ever made for Mr Uematsu's work.

  • goosebumps from 00:00 to 19:44

  • Love this.

  • Does anyone know what orchestra this is? They are outstanding, especially the Bass Trombonist.

  • @mangobone7 WDR local radioorchestra in germany

  • @mangobone7 - its the WDR Rundfunkorchester ( West German Broadcast - Radio Orchestra) - the bass-trombone player is Ingo Luis, an outstanding trombone player, writer and arranger, who became famous in the late 80's through a landmark recording called The Two Bone Big Band "Hornplayers Can't Eat Garlic". He is just AWESOME !!!!!!!

  • @nastywal Oh ok thanks everyone on the name of the orchestra. To nastywal, wow I didn't know that, thats pretty cool. I tend to listen to the low brass in orchestras since I'm a Bass Trombonist, do you play trombone as well?

  • @mangobone7 - I used to play tuba in a brass band, but I really love the trombone, especially when it's played so well. The piano kid is killing as well. Great music and fantastic performance.

  • @mangobone7 I believe it is the WDR Orchestra of Cologne (WDR Rundfunkorchester Koln)

  • 4:10

    FF2 戦闘シーン2なのでは?

  • Benyamin Nuss - a great discovery!

  • Funny thing I listened to FF6 OST the night before leaving to Cologne to attend this. I was totally bawling when i heard that, as well as during Celes' theme and the main FF theme. Almost 2 decades playing these games and finally hearing those themes from my chilhood played live by an orchestra ... Amazing, amazing concert. <3

  • @McDenis5678 Not really mixed up, it just happened to pop in my mind after seeing this :-P

  • Oh goodness. This whole suite was amazing O_O Meshing together separate pieces was flawless and flowed really well!

I hear bits of Jenova and The Unforgiven at the end. Very small bits, but it's worth noting :)

  • i loved the audience...as soon as the first few notes of one winged angel sounded the crowd turned crazy XD

  • @LegionsRevenge i think u mixed this video up with the 2nd encore?

there is no OWA in this ;)

  • @LegionsRevenge oh yeah!! It was really cool. The best thing was the FF VII Battle Themes ^^. But I doubt i will ever get a seat as good as this time... center of the first row

  • FFVI : The Unforgiven 19'08

    A few notes...

  • i missed terras theme but it was totally awesome

  • It was a brilliant concert, and for them to actually play the Opening of FFVI had me cry tears of joy <3

Also, 4:10 is the Battle Scene 2 of FF2, the Fight against Emperor Mateus Palamecia, not the regular Battle I.

  • So, what I can hear is: 0:00 FF6 - Opening Theme 2:40 Final Fantasy Prelude 2:45 FF1 - Main Theme 3:40 ??? 4:10 FF2 - Battle Scene 1 5:30 FF1 - Main Theme 5:59 Final Fantasy Theme 7:10 FF6 - Opening Theme 8:10 FF6 - Cele's Theme 8:28 FF3 - The Boundles Ocean 11:15 FF6 - Darkness and Starlight 13:40 FF3 - The Boundless Ocean 15:05 FF4 - Battle With The Four Fiends 15:46 FF6 - Fierce Battle 16:21 FF4 - Battle With The Four Fiends 17:22 FF5 - Battle On The Big Bridge 18:47 FF6 - Fierce Battle
  • @redcloud02

dude....thx for this explanation :D if it's right you're god!

i wondered what the last one is. i only played VII crysis core.

thx a thousand times and thumbs up

    bwn

  • @redcloud02 I think 3:40 MAY be "Grand Finale?" from the Darkness and Starlight opera.

  • @redcloud02 Actually 3:40 is the unused Battle Scene 3 from FFII /watch?v=-7Vd6DFLgLs

  • Comment removed

  • @redcloud02

At 3:40 it's Battle Scene 3 from FF2. This music was not used in the final game and is only available on the original soundtrack.

  • @redcloud02 i heard in celes theme and darkness and starlight of what u said is actually aerith's/aeris theme

  • @Omnishredder Cele's Theme and Aerith's Theme are similar, but I heard from somewhere that this meddly was only FF 1 - 6.

  • @Omnishredder @redcloud02 Without any doubt this is not Aerith's Theme. It's the Aria from FFVI's opera Maria and Draco (a.k.a. Celes Theme). Just search for Uematsu's "Aria di Mezzo Carattere" and voilà.

  • What's being played at 4:00?

  • @SSBBrawlChamp Actually, now that I think about it, is it Grand Finale? from FF6? It's a part of the Darkness and Starlight opera?

  • A tear rolled out of my eyes when i heard they played Aria Di Mezzo from FF 6.

When they turned over to Four Fiends and Clash at the big bridge i got so totaly hyped.

Im glad that i was there and even met the master of symphonic music himself, Uematsu Nobue-san !

  • 11:15 HAS to bring tears to your motherfucking eyes if you've played FF6

  • Whoever was able to attend this, I seriously envy you. This is absolutely stunning music.

  • that orchestral arrangement of the omen track from FFVI at 0:36 is so damn epic it gives me chill's i always wanted to that hear that part of the piece orchestrated and im glad that the arranger roger wanamo chose that piece as part of the final fantasy concerto

  • @heerogunkenobi Dude, my thoughts exactly. When I was watching it live I literally shuddered it was so good.

  • @phatcorns that's cool ^_^

  • Whats the name of the medley at 15:45 ?

  • Kind of wish they did a FF1-6 concerto and then a FF7-10 concerto but didn't play the typical favourites from the later games.

  • Four fiends clash in the big bridge and battle to the death. They're so epic together than even their titles compose a phrase.

  • This Medley alone would have been worth the concert, but all other arrangements were just as magnificent. I'm glad I was there, being a part of this wonderful evening.

  • Awesome concert, glad I were there and able to get the seemingly best tickets right behind Nobuo Uematsu :D

Count me in next year too!

  • "The boundless ocean"... wow I totally loved the flute and piano duet at 9:47.

  • This mashup between "The boundless ocean" and "Opera Maria & Draco" was wonderful. It really fits the theme of "a sad love story". It moved me to tears. Roger Wanamo did a great job. :)

  • Final Fantasy IV at the end <3 best game ever

  • missed a few themes.. fantastic suite though!

  • Four Fiends/Atma Weapon/Gilgamesh mashup is phenomenal.

  • 9:20 and here and there after that. Is that the Conde Petie village theme from FF9? The village of dwarves that say "Rally-ho"?

  • @redcloud02 they said before they played this that it is arranged music from FF 1-6 in this part, so I don´t think so. You are right it sounds a little bit like it, but I´m unsure which one it is.

  • @euchale Yes, you a right, I just looked up the track, its The Boundless Ocean from FF3. I wasn't really familiar with that track even though I've played the game, but it does sound similar to Conde Patie from FF9.

  • FF6 best ff ever...

  • Excellent. Got insanely good near the end. The middle lost me a bit. But it's finally nice to not hear FF7 in there :)

  • beginnt mit final fantsy 6....was soll man mehr sagen....ff6-4-ever

  • GILGAMESH. In this medley HE was.
