Ive pretty much memorized this video, but I just keep on hittin replay for bumpin soundtrack! (thank you soooo friggin much btw! I <3 you for making this)
@MTCoblivsicas12345 webers analysis of how religion shaped the economies of protestant socities was actually more accurate marx was merely on a dogmatic ideological rant weber actually came very close to an aobjective anallysis ofh how calvinism changed european in economic structure
@MrBillcale Weber was close but hes been criticised also because there is evidence of capitalism in Catholic countries before the reformation of the church before Calvinism was introduced.
@MrBillcale another criticism of Weber is that it could be argued that Calvinists only began starting businesses not because they wanted be in the elect but because they couldnt get into politics and any other public jobs because of their religious views so they decided to start companies.
@MrBillcale the last criticism of Weber is that the Protestant ethic was only 1 thing that conributed to the arise of Capitalism. It was more to do with technoloigcal change that brought Capitalism, Weber said himself that there was more important things contributed to Capitalism he just wanted to show how religion had some influence on society.
@MTCoblivsicas12345 can you explain to me then why capitalism took off like a rocket in USA Uk germany
only and japan only because they copied western practice to a tea, what "catholic nation experienced a prnounced industrial develpment in the 19th century?, it took off in the north of europe first because of? of?
@MrBillcale France, Spain Italy their is evidence of them reinvesting there profits back into the business not an industrial development but they did reinvest profits into the business . it is true that early UK entrepreneurs were Calvinists.
@MTCoblivsicas12345 llet me first state i am agnostic(predictable according to weber) i was raised calvinist, i despise the religion i hated it its a relgion more suited to robots(as opposed to other religions suited to mindless zombies) but i attampt to be objective and from observing protestant i knew who genrations after abandoning a church still hald on to workaholic traditions as a measure of self worth it is a very very powerful triat that cant be ignored it drives people genrations
@MTCoblivsicas12345 after abandoning any spiritual allegaince to calvinism NOT to worship money but to work and acumulate wealth simply to proove that their lives have any value at all..forgetting their ancestors did it to please god..its fascinating actually and a bit sad..try to get one of them to lighten up and have a few drinks
@MrBillcale i suppose they were quite boring however they didnt have the temptation that we have today which the media portrays that we have to have something when actually we dont need these items they are just luxerious items. They also believed that if they were succesfull then it was a sign god chose them. Therefore work and religion became one if they worked hard it was a sign of devotion to god. Calvinists just lived a basic lifestyle even if they were millionaires they didnt need the cash
@MTCoblivsicas12345 my grand parents were calvinists the way they lived way remarkably spartan depite a middle class income you were trained to think of excessive luxury as decadent as having daily orgies..growing up we drove the same old car for ten years depite probably being able to buy one every other year.it really is an aesthetic captialism you can make money you just cant spend it on anythng
always struck me as rather insane were only here for so short a time we should drink wine and
@MTCoblivsicas12345 eat cheese drink some expresso and debate the meaning of life you know like those french philosophers..socialism isnt the answer though you just have this huge state tellling you when to change your underwear interfereing with your life like everything else you need a balance in life any extreme will lead to misery
Thanks 4 the vid..
