  • you are such a great teacher! thanks for helping out.

  • um how did he get Y=4 from just looking at it?? I see the steps he left out, but ??

  • @michelle716100 He probably knew the answer to the problem in order to make this video, or he is really, really good at math

  • he is so DULL omg smile once?? it might make the video be more effective

  • i love how all of these examples are the easy ones that i already know how to do

  • omygosh i love you this website help me so much to pass my exam.,.rnx men

  • Do we always have to change the negative to positive?

  • this teacher is awesome! his explanations are soo clear!!!and....he is cute....hehe

  • thats dum they show really good videos that help out but if you go on there website you have to pay

  • can somebody explain were the for comes from

  • This is a big help. Thank you. :)

  • how is it 4 i got the rest but how did he get 4? can someone help?

  • @AJacobUnit3

    5y-25 = 13-3y-6 Transpose all common terms..

    5y+3y=13-6+25

    8y=13+19

    8y=32

    8y=32

    -- ---

    8 8

    y=4

  • Suck a 9 inch dick in your 4 inch mouth!! Do the math!!! Will it fit!? Didn't help at all.

  • @kookie4nookie hey you suck ur own dick we are that he was helping us foolish .@!

  • you sound like the clear eyes commercial guy.....and you're not very good at explaining steps...

  • next time can you explain WHY YOU DO EACH STEP cause this makes no sense to me!!

  • these classes literally made me skip so many extra math classes in college, i might get my bach degree early now :) !

  • omg its EZRA FITZ!

  • @daphnie528 I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT THOUGHT THAT. haha.

  • thank you so much. now if only every teacher were like you kids might actually understand it you should do a conference to show other teachers how you teach because they definitely could learn a thing or two from you.

  • y+y2+3y/4= WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This helps SO much; I have a test over this stuff tomorrow; thank you!

  • where did the 3y go?

  • @hullohulloRFC u add the 3 to the 5 since u its on the other side of the equation then you add 25 to 13 -6 which would give you 8y=32 then 8 divided by 32 equales 4 hope it helped

  • @hullohulloRFC you have to find numbers that multiply to make -10 and add up to -3. -5 times 2 is -10 and they add up to -3.

  • i dont understand how y=4 can someone break that part down for me because im stuck at trying to find out how he got that

  • I think he might have solved it wrong.

    5y – 25 = 13 – 3y – 6

    5y = 28 – 3y – 6

    2y = 28 – 6

    2y = 22

    y = 11

  • @Shortstop429 u add 3 to the other side not subtract

  • @Shortstop429 If you look at the first line of your equation you have -25. Yet on the second line you have 28, I think you added 3 instead of 13. This would have given you 38, then subtracting by 6 gives 32. You should have also added 3y to 5y giving the equation 8y=32. Therefore y=4. Hope that helped.

  • @thatthang18

    5y-25 = 13-3y-6 which equals 5y-25 = 7-3y

    then bring the -3y to the other side turning it to +3y and bring the -25 to the opposite side turning it to +25

    this gives you 8y = 32

    divide 32 by 8 and y = 4

  • @thatthang18

    I'm assuming you understood how he got down to 5y-25=13-3y-6. In algebra we try to get all like terms togethther and solve from there. So to collect all the y terms together we could add 3y to both sides

    (+3y)5y-25=13-3y-6(+3y)

    This gets rid of the 3y on the right hand side of the equation (+3y-3y=o). However it gives us 8y on the left hand side (5y+3y=8y)

    8y-25=13-6 simplifying gives

    8y-25=7 (13-6=7)

    Now add 25 to both sides gives

    8y=32 y=32/8 y=4

  • you know this guy gets that hot teacher pussy. "hey kathlene... you wanna get a bite to eat and maybe graph some systems of equations back at my place?" For real though, this is one learned bro

  • You're a lifesaver!!!

    Being in 8th grade, you just helped me understand this.

    Thank you.

  • This dude is pure awesome. Watching these videos have saved me from failing so many tests, if only I could replace my psycho Algebra teacher with this guy . . . life would be so much easier. I betcha this guy wouldn't give me detention for chewing gum in class either. :D

  • kind of boring.. but at least he actually teaches, unlike some teachers

  • I did not know that they guy from "Burn Notice" made math videos!!

  • ?????

  • 0:26 Why you need to change that sign ?

  • @Ripas55 in order to make the solution easier. you can still do it without changing, i think

  • Word of advice to everyone. NEVER take online math classes when you know you're bad at math..... like I stupidly did and now It takes a day for my teacher to respond

  • How is it that I can sit through a class for an hour while understanding nothing, yet I seem to comprehend when you explain the same concept in 3 minutes? You're magical.

  • thank you!

  • I love youu sooo much thanks for ur uploadinq vid it helped me a lot<3

  • i hope ur videos can pass me on my entrace exam for hs this february :/

  • thanks a lot! my teacher gives us homework and she doesnt even explain how to do it! even worse, im in 8th grade and im doing high school math. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • THANKS P.S. I LIKE YOUR SHIRT AND TIE COMBO

  • thx bro i was sleeping in math class but the way u explained it kept me awake

  • this dude makes the maths look fun

  • whaaaaaaaaaat?!

  • I wish more teachers taught like this and not beat around the bush!!

  • wow that was actually easy!!!! thx

  • No one will know how much trouble i was having with a certain problem for math, and the moment i watched this, i got it right!!! I LOVE THIS SITE!

  • Big booty bitches!

  • Thank you for this...... I actually don't think you're a better teacher than my math teacher, it's just that since someone else is teaching it it removes a mental block allowing you to learn it..... My math teacher basically did the EXACT same thing but for some reason I get it when you do it O _o.

  • am getting lost at 0:36 "...as y-5 times y+2." Where does that part come from? Isn't (y-5)(y+2) the same as y squared - 10? WHat happened to the 3y part? I'm confused.

  • Agh.... Thanks.... Math does not come naturally to me, so your stuff helps a LOT....

  • I learn It in 8th, but im not bragging.

  • @beefyballparkbrand wanna a cookie

  • @beefyballparkbrand that was neccessary.

  • 5y-25=13-3y-6

    5y-25=7-3y

    8y-25=7

    8y=32

    y=4

    these were the missing steps...

  • how do you do it if your denominators don't factor out to match the others?

  • HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET Y=4?? you only explained the first part. not how you got y=4!

  • at the very end, you must combine like terms, divide, and solve from there. he assumes you know that.

  • I think is different depending on where you live state-wise. Like where I'm from when we get into 7th grade we have to take pre-algebra. Then Algebra 1 in 8th grade if we didn't fail Pre-Alg and so on.

  • i love you

  • YOU ROCK BRO!

  • thanks for making my life much easier... being in a grade 8 class with this lesson.... it is so difficult. thanks

  • omg your one cool guy thank you, you saved me from summer school!!

  • Dude, you are an excellent teacher. I learn more watching your 2 minute videos than sitting thorugh an entire 2 hour class at school and I am 100% sure of that, not exagerating.

  • @ojela Seconded.

  • @ojela me 2...my teacher spends an entire boring class teaching what this guy taught me in two minutes

  • marry me i love you thank you for these great postings i really am passing my math college class WITH AN A

  • then why did you even click this video? :\

  • I doubt you learned rationals in grade 8..

    I'm taking grade 11 university prep functions and relations, and this is my first time learning rational equations and expressions

  • Um yes I did. Why would I lie? Its so easy

  • you would lie because you think you're hot shit and you're trying to impress everybody. I'm in grade 10 and were doing this stuff. you don't learn this in middle school

  • I'm in a gate class so I'm learning it in middle school. So, lay off. Some people start Algebra 2 early.

  • these postings are like lifesaver to college students, especially busy ones like me. Im in college too, math 091 prereq of 093 and math 111. These vids have saved my ass before every exam. you cant pause your professor, but you can pause this wacky dude....thankfully

  • i'm already lost .. damnn this math probles!

  • correction in the first line...

    -5+7=2

    NOT

    -5+7=-2

    xD

  • (when you bring something over to the other side, the signs become the opposite. Example. 5+x=7 x=-5+7 x=-2 This is how the rest of the question works Group Like Terms 5y+3y=25+13-6 Add Like Terms 8y=32 Devide by the coefficient of y (the number that is beside the variable is called the coefficient I think xD) Example. 5y=10 5y/5=10/5 y=2 Devide By The Coefficient Of y 8y/8=32/8 y=4 And there you have it, full solution =D
  • can someone, like explain this step by step???

  • Tack så mycket!:)/Thank you very much!

  • nice

  • How did he get 4? whats the steps to get 4

  • Grazie!

  • great help, wish you were my teacher! you make sense!

  • donke shoon
