  • English fans riot, Scots play bagpipes and drink

  • without doubt !!

  • Hi Topher, thanks for the answer. But one thing is no joke. Since Nov. 2007 (you against Italy - with the version of Ronnie Glow- hope spelled it right) I call my Lady in the House "Flower of Scotland". And that in the Bavarian Forrest. Keep your heads up high Bravehearts, And if you loose against England, don´t worry, we always kick them out in penalty shooting. So we are with you. Give me high Five.
  • Greetings from a further Pro from Germany.

England had 1 heart, that was for me Paul Gascoigne. Drunk or not he always went forward. No matter what.

But what you guys here do, is simply unbelievable.

This kind of enthusiasm you can´t learn.

You must be born with that.

    I admire you BRAVEHEARTS!!!!

    Simply great.

Whendwever I have the chance, I want to meet Hampden Park during this Quanlifikation.

I think: If you never have been there , you never played.

    Great

  • @SUSuess: Thank you very much, from a Scotland fan.

Your comments are very much appreciated, and I hope very much that both Scotland and Germany qualify for the next tournament.

    Take care. :)

  • what a night that was

  • lol if this was England they would go cry in a corner next to David becks

  • aww toon that night was amazin :-D n a was jst walkin aboot haha :-D

  • see who needs to win : )

  • Outside Ann Summers is the place to fukkin party!

  • aye i am a celtic fan but love my country Scotland and i know rangers fans who are scottish but cheered for Northern Ireland when we played them.

  • Forget that!!!!!!

Why are they all hanging around outside Ann Summers? lol

  • What's so different about this scene from any other group of football fans in a pub? It could be anyone.

  • the point is bawbag that we lost the game and never went around in a big huff like england smashin shop window in an attempt to look crazy like all you poofs. we support our team through thick and thin unlike you lot who would throuw bananas at your black players

  • Which black England player has had bananas thrown at him by the fans? Prove your claim

  • danieldaviddillon: I agree you. We accepted Quashie with open arms and we would do the same. The Tartan army only see one colour, Navy blue. :)

Mate, I agree with all your points but please try to be civil. Take the higher ground. :)

  • Win lose or draw the Tartan Army knows how to party!!!

  • The best fans in the world, without doubt.

  • Bollocks. You're just a bunch of skirt wearing muppets. No one sees you the way you see yourselves.

  • grassingtongreen: Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for conveying yours. :)

The Tartan Army have been awarded a Fair Play prize by the Belgian Olympic Committee, were named as the best supporters during the 1992 European Championship, and at the 1998 World Cup in France, were presented with a trophy for non-violence in sport and were voted by journalists to be the best supporters for their sense of fair play and sporting spirit.

Apparently we aren't the only ones who like us.

  • No violence doesn't automatically mean the best fans. I admit some countries (Holland, Russia England, Germany, Italy etc) have a small collection of trouble makers but the majority are good. We could argue that Scottish fans are all trouble makers (Rangers in Manchester)

  • lordsquirrelshit: Certainly doesn't hurt.

We've won awards, mate. We've been recognized as being friendly and being exemplary behaved. Next time you come over take a wee visit to the museum inside Hampden.

Re: Rangers fans in Manchester. The majority of Rangers fans don't support Scotland, you'll notice that by the way they wear England strips. So, you could make an argument that they're actually England fans.

  • LOLOLOLOL @ awards. You think awards presented by stiffs in suits make good fans do you? Rangers are a SCOTTISH club. Don't blame their violence of the English you spineless cunt. Typical jock, blames the English for everything. Squealing spineless losers

  • 1herp1: Of course I think that. Who do you suggest give out the awards, god?

If you look again at the video, lots of the people cause violence weren't wearing football colours, so you could make the argument that some of the yobs were locals.

Secondly, Rangers english. I mean, they have a picture of the queen in their dressing room. What more proof do you need?

And continue with the name calling, mate. You're just letting down your country. :)

  • Rangers are a Scottish team from Glasgow supported by Scottish people. they're as Scottish as it gets you tit. You're not even man enough to admit your faults.

  • grassingtongreen: Do me a favour. Look up any rangers video on youtube and you'll see their fans wear the england top, waving the union jack and singing god save the queen.

No self respecting Scot would do any of the aformentioned activities.

Being a Scot isn't where you're born, it's who you are, it's your morals as well as your intergrity.

I don't wish to paint every rangers fans with the same brush, but I would say that there's a core who openly support england over Scotland.

  • The Union Flag is the flag of Scotland, Wales & England not just England. God save the Queen = British national anthem (check out Olympics). Rangers are a SCOTTISH club ffs! They come from Glasgow, they play in the Scots prem. How many clues do u need?

  • grassingtongreen: British national anthem? Really? Well, you'll excuse me if I don't pay homage to a song that has the verse "Crush all rebellious Scots" in it. It's very much anti Scottish, as that passage would prove.

Rangers may be a Scottish club, they may have Scottish supporters, but it doesn't automatically mean that they are part of the Tartan Army. And that's the argument that you were getting at, that Rangers fans support Scotland, right?

  • Now you're just making up stuff.

That verse was never sung and was removed shortly after being put in the song.

  • Those were the original lyrics, the fact that it was never sung is quite immaterial: Lord, grant that Marshal Wade, May by thy mighty aid, Victory bring. May he sedition hush and like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush, God save the King.

  • Immaterial ?

It's the whole bloody point: It was never used.

  • You're mixing stuff up.

Most Rangers fans do support Scotland, they just choose not to be linked to the Tartan Army, which they feel is a group of people with strong anti-Rangers feelings.

The England-argument is totally bogus, Rangers-fans dislike the English team as much as the next Scot.

  • Most Rangers fans support Scotland but don't associate themselves with the Tartan Army? That makes no sense. That's like being a soldier and choosing not to be linked with the Army. :p

Let's not play silly buggers. Celtic represents Ireland and Rangers represent England (Or Britain, if you wish) I'm not saying all old firm fans support Ireland or England, but I know for a fact that some do. So, you can understand why the Tartan Army may resent the old firm.

  • I'm actually making a difference between your average Scotland fan and the Tartan Army, yes :)

Look at it this way: I live in Belgium, so I get to deal with a lot of the crazy morons that support Holland. I know several people (Dutch people, mind you) who love their country and it's football team, but are ashamed by the morons who dress up like cheese or farmers.

I'm talking about the members of the Tartan Army who boo Boyd, Ferguson,... The other ones are amazing fans ;)

  • You're being a wee bit out of order here, by the way. The Tartan Army may dress up in their kilts and their glen garrys, but I can assure you that they are no trouble makers. I've been going to Scotland matches (Home and away) for the past 15 or so years, and I haven't seen a spot of violence, nor have I heard anyone supporting Scotland booing any individual players.

The fans loved Boyd, he never got booed. Neither did Ferguson. The only player that got booed by Scotland fans is McAllister.

  • I never said Sotland fans cause trouble, on the contrary.

And we'll just have to agree to disagree then, I have heard of several incidents where people were shouting 'Hun bastard' at any Rangers player. Not the majority of course, but still: Can you blame Rangers or Celtic fans for disliking Scottish fans who boo Scottish players, just because they play for one of those 2 clubs ?I can see where you're coming from regarding GSTQ, but booing it isn't smart either (Scotland v N-Ireland).

  • I'll stick by what I said about never hearing any Rangers player (Or Celtic player, for that matter) being booed. If it does happen by a few choice individuals then it's completely out of order and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Any player who plays for Scotland should be backed 100%, without question or exception.

I wasn't at the N.Ireland match, but I would have booed. I know it's not big or clever, but I'd still do it. So I would be a hypocrite if I condemned it.

  • As much as I hate to admit it, being a proud member of the Tartan Army myself, I have heard Rangers' players booed at a Scotland game before. Only one mind you. Barry Ferguson was booed by a small minority of idiots at the Scotland ROI game a few years ago.

Those people should be condemed and should support any player in the Dark Blue of Alba.

  • im a celtic fan but im 100 percente scotland ,my friends are rangers and happily buy england tops ,difference is celtic fans in general hate the scum down south fact whilst rangers support england ,god bless escothia

  • boabp84: Mate, if that's true that you see yourself as 100% Scottish then I wish there were more like you.

As for the "scum down south" I think that's the problem, people are too fixated on the past and hate to give a jot about changing the future. Like all this tripe like "No surrender" What on earth does that even mean? Our enemies nowadays are al qaeda.

The differences with the old firm are only skin deep.

    Anyway.

All the best to Scotland for the rest of the Qualification campaign, :)

  • @TopherT1979 aye ye meant good but for al qaeda read own government

  • im a rangers fan always have been always will be , some of my friends are members of blue order and stuff ye no , but they always consider themselves scottish before british , were not all like that , i hate england and personally like ireland better , but im always scottish first

  • mate im a gers fan and i hate england.. wud never touch a england shirt with a barge poll.. stop generalizing all rangers fans.

if u were 100% scottish, ud respect ur fellow scots as well.

  • @davidm92 I don't care if you love england, loving england doesn't make you any less scottish as long as you love Scotland more haha and arn't a unionist unionists are the problems not england lovers if your a unionist your arn't a true Scotsman

  • It says Guinness on the side of buses but it doesn't mean I can buy a pint of it on the bus. Rangers fans shamed Scotland. I've been in Glasgow during an old firm game. There's fighting galore & anyone who says there isnt is a stinking hypocrite

  • grassingtongreen: Which part of "a majority of the Old Firm choose not to support Scotland" don't you understand?

England have a small amount of idiots who spoil it for the rest of the decent fans, right? Well, consider a percentage of the old firm fans to be the Scottish equivalent, with one glaring difference, the old firm fans don't follow Scotland.

This was an argument about the Tartan Army, right? Well, the tartan army and the old firm are two separate entities.
