The whole point of bands doing covers (popular bands anyway, not bands starting out) is to take something original and try to make it their own and in their own special way. Most are not doing covers to out do the original creators and bands, but simply to play the song in their own style.
I personally like this, but the original journey cover will remain the best.

The first time I heard Separate Ways (the original), I envisioned it being a really kickass metal song. A lot of Journey's stuff has the framework of making fantastic metal tunes. Excellent work and thanks to Andre Matos for doing it!
Realmente, a introdução com guitarra ficou uma merda, mas no resto a música ficou muito bom. É uma versão metal, bem adapatada, por sinal. A maioria dos covers dessa música que eu ouço por aí são meras cópias do original. André Matos teve o colhão de fazer uma parada diferente, mas de qualidade.

André Matos is NOT a Steve Perry "impersonator" or a "tribute artist", but a professional singer that has his own style. The musicians are all very good, and their chemistry is very good as well. I like Portuguese alot more Spanish and Italian its my favorite "romatic" language that i have heard. My favorite language is probably Swedish or the languages that they speak in Iceland and Finland that is just nuts.

So if you like power we have that, prog got that too, glam rock we got that too and boy is it going strong. Progressive is a good genre. Dream theater is one of the best, i am not 100% pleased with their current stuff they had way better.

Cara, escuta o CD dele de novo. Músicas muito complexas vc não "entende" da primeira vez que escuta.
O CD solo dele tá ótimo, ele amadureceu muito musicalmente. Não tem como falar que músicas como How Long, Rio e Endeavour são ruins. Elas misturam arranjos melódicos com riffs mais pesados. Pouquissimas bandas conseguem fazer CDs com essa qualidade musical.
Não vou nem começar a falar sobre A New Moonlight que não cabe aqui... =)

Cara, é só uma questão de estilo. pra quem prefere um rock mais pesado a um rock "a la 80's", essa versão ta demais. Pra quem pensa ao contrario, essa versão é uma merda, é só uma questão do tipo de rock que vc gosta qualidades e defeitos todos os musicos tem... =)

Até concordo com vc em relação a qualidades e defeitos, Mas acho que esses musicos Brasilieros deveriam pensar + antes de fazer um cover,, pois os caras do Angra já tem seu estilo e não precisam disso, mas que ficou ruim pra caramba ficou, acho que até ele mesmo ouvindo agora depois de um tempo percebeu a merda que le fez..Mas o que tá feito tá feito não tem como voltar... abços

The first time I heard Separate Ways (the original), I envisioned it being a really kickass metal song. A lot of Journey's stuff has the framework of making fantastic metal tunes. Excellent work and thanks to Andre Matos for doing it!

Realmente, a introdução com guitarra ficou uma merda, mas no resto a música ficou muito bom. É uma versão metal, bem adapatada, por sinal. A maioria dos covers dessa música que eu ouço por aí são meras cópias do original. André Matos teve o colhão de fazer uma parada diferente, mas de qualidade.

Who the heck is talking about Arnel Pineda? This is not another idiot comparison video like those posted by some Pinoy folks here on YouTube. André Matos is NOT a Steve Perry "impersonator" or a "tribute artist", but a professional singer that has his own style. Quite different from this Arnel Pineda who's just a great karaoke singer in my book.

É verdade, cara. Não tem como comparar. Steve Perry é o melhor vocalista de todos os tempos na minha opinião. O Andre Mattos é bom, o cara canta muito, e pelo que eu sei ele tem muita experiência. E ele até é meio parecido com o Perry. Hehe!

The musicians are all very good, and their chemistry is very good as well. I like Portuguese alot more Spanish and Italian its my favorite "romatic" language that i have heard. My favorite language is probably Swedish or the languages that they speak in Iceland and Finland that is just nuts.

dude i hear you on the religion aspect. I am originally from Sweden and that is the place for good music, different kinds of rock and metal. So if you like power we have that, prog got that too, glam rock we got that too and boy is it going strong. But in America the only thing that is popular, where I live anyways is shit like My Chemical Romance and Fall out Boy, blah. Metal is only popular amongst small cult groups, that is a shame.

I agree. america is the king of fag rock. they were okay back in the 80 though now they produce bands like my chemical romance and it makes me wanna throw up.
Progressive is a good genre. Dream theater is one of the best, i am not 100% pleased with their current stuff they had way better.
I prefer Pain of Salvation check them out. they are different. Ark and conception are another two great arks from norway.

All people listen to here is Pagode, Sertanejo, Forró, Axé, Sertanejo, Funk Carioca (brazillian rithm based styles, you can search for these keywords on youtube if you're curious) and its all shit for me...
Our Metal bands are pretty good though: Angra, Shaman (Shaaman), Tribuzy, ect.

Cara, escuta o CD dele de novo. Músicas muito complexas vc não "entende" da primeira vez que escuta.
O CD solo dele tá ótimo, ele amadureceu muito musicalmente. Não tem como falar que músicas como How Long, Rio e Endeavour são ruins. Elas misturam arranjos melódicos com riffs mais pesados. Pouquissimas bandas conseguem fazer CDs com essa qualidade musical.
Não vou nem começar a falar sobre A New Moonlight que não cabe aqui... =)
O André é o cara, não só como vocalista, mas como músico.

Claro que leio, e é preciso ser muito inteligente pra escrevê-las...
Pegue as letras do André, pra começar elas são em inglês, o que já dificulta por não ser nossa primeira lingua. Ela é CHEIA de metáforas e outras figuras de linguagem, muitas vezes com críticas ao governo, que você, mais um conformista, tanto fala mal e não faz nada, fica com sua bunda gorda sentado ai no pc.
Mas e ai? O que vc tem contra metaleiro? Foi estuprado por um? Que eu saiba os metaleiros são bem pacificos...
