if the target object is white - it will be less affected by the incident radiation. For maximum thermal uptake the target object should be black. Place two bar-b-que briquettes side-by-side in your solar cooker .. one spray painted white - the other "au naturel." See which begins to emit smoke first.

You could combine this with a Sterling Engine. I think this would be more powerful than those with the parabolic dish.
