i played runescape and wow both for 2 years, and got to lv 85 in wow and lv 120 in rs. now ignoring cost which gives rs and advantage, and graphics for wows advantage, they both have potential to be good games, but wow used it and rs didnt. the problem with rs is that its economy sucks, and its cool that theres a lot of skills but half are just stupid, i mean really? firemaking... the problem is that rs is trying to improve, but has lack of original ideas now.

Runescape is free or infinitely cheaper than WoW is depending on whether you are a member, both involve endless level grinding which isn't particularly fun. The simplest quest in Runescape is more complex and engaging than 95% of all WoW quests. Runescape can be played much more casually than WoW. Pve: Wow wins, Different classes keep it interesting as well as huge amount of content

Pvp: Both good, Rs is more 1v1 and wow is either Battlegrounds or Arena. World pvp is rubbish. Depends on your taste.

Graphics: Rs has updated them over the years and I prefer rs. Wow has a lot more game area though and I'd imagine it's hard to update.

Levelling: Wow definitely. You can either Quest, Do dungeons or battlegrounds (team based pvp) I do a mixture of all 3. Rs requires way too much grinding an

Wow is the clear winner in PvE, with instances and raids and such. The problem with runescape pve is that it doesn't rely on different classes (except for one tank in some bosses) and there just isn't much pve content. When Dungeoneering was released it brought out a huge range of bosses, but again there are no roles for everyone to take. Usually it's just 'everyone mage' or 'everyone melee' etc.
