Lovely to see any horses happily hooning around barefoot. It will be great one day when shoes will be the exception rather than the norm. Just a comment though about the rope halter - please don't leave these on in the paddock. They don't break like those other crappy halters, so though they are awesome tools, when left on a horse in the paddock they can become very dangerous.
@VivaLaVidaChica How on EARTH can you tell for sure what kind of halter that is from this distance? I'm guessing you're one of those nuts that just HAVE to find something wrong with every horse video. Lay off, there's no way you would know that isn't a breakaway halter.
That was 2 months after , she was quite bad when the shoes were first taken off , she was very sore and didn't want to walk for about a week , just mostly stood around , we gently encouraged her and week after week you could see improvements , she has been sold , and doing awesome !! I really miss her and kinda wish i wouldn't have sold her , but i have first dibs to buy her back if they ever sell her , they love her like family so i doubt it !!
Thanks for the comment , she still has a way to go , but when i first got her , she would not walk when i took her shoes off , and now she runs around with the other horses and is very comfortable , we use boa boots for trail riding and hoping for " rock crushing " feet eventually , : )
What a happy looking mare! Congrats to you, and GO barefoot Thoroughbreds!

Awesome! How long have the shoes been off? I took one of ours 8 months to become completely un-ouchy but all hare happy and healthy now!

good idea using the boots till she's ready to go without them--nice video...

She certainly looks very comfortable without her shoes on. We keep our horses barefoot and they are trimmed by an HPT trimmer.
