  • This is my favorite version on youtube!

  • wouldn't the first one be very much easier if al the melody notes were played with the right hand?

  • @lottoformulier etude means 'study' so it is an exercise not in the easiest way to play it but to exercise weaker fingers, technical matters etc

  • I really like this interpretation, it have the peace in the storm!

  • Thanks for uploading

  • is exelent the etuede n°1

  • first etude is actually based on paganini's caprice no. 5..lol part of it..especially the intro part

  • @pspoverdrive its a mix of caprice 5 and 6

  • The first Etude is the most beautiful IMO.

Maybe not the hardest but the most subtle

    and poigniant.

  • Great!!! fantastic performarnce, I love it

  • VERY nice work!

  • beauty

  • Clearly a very good player, but a bit "safe" on the whole for my liking...just let go and dont care if you balls up! you won't....

  • Playing is fine but too reserved on the Paganini No. 1. Liszt marked fortissimo on the climactic tremolo but was played only mezzo-forte. Would have been great if you let go and played as indicated.

  • These are some excellent recordings here... nice and complete =)

    BRAVO!

  • Fantastic scales in the second etude.

  • you are not serious!

  • BUDDY, YOU TRY PLAYING THAT!

  • HAHAHA for reals

  • is this piece more difficult than campanella?

  • id say so

  • wow...the first one is based on the 5th caprice . and the second is the 17th right? this is amazing....im blown away. i love paganini. and liszt has made it even more amazing

  • Compare a recording of the 4th etude to a recording of the first caprice, and tell me how different they are, melodically speaking.

  • - Quite breathtaking! It makes me forget how much Liszt is difficult and how much Liszt is beautiful...

Yeah. It's incredible how Liszt was able to combine both virtuosity and magnificence at the same time.

    - Oui.

  • thanks for translation

  • Was it the appropriate thing to do?

    - C'était la chose appropriée à faire ?

  • I like this performance very much. Excellent technique.

  • Simply wonderful, amazing awesome!!!

  • I don't know how this man is able to preserve the legato and voice line in part 1 of tremolo, even with left hand.

  • souds like we are talking about real professional :)

  • Comment removed

  • my opinion 1 is the hardest... the left hand is incerdible!

  • I think 6 is easily the hardest... 5 and 1 are two of the easiest, I think. Once you've got the feel for the tremolo technique, it's pretty simple from there... the earlier version contains some other techniques, but it's mostly the same. It has some crazy hand crosses.

  • I used to think 6 was the hardest too. But then when I learned it, it was a lot quicker than learning the first. It took me almost 2 months of working up the tremelos. but 6 took me only about 1 month.

  • guys what about campanella?how difficult is it in compare with the others?

  • well i dont know its about personal views, some one view this as really easy, but the campanella might be really hard

  • it all depends on your own abilities, for me la campanella wasn't that bad

  • Only use left hand at the beginning, makes me shocked for a long time

  • I really appreciate your brilliant performance! What a marvelous playing! Your momentum is kept well!

    Your technique is world-class!

I start learning La Campanella, it is very difficult for me due to my poor fingering= =

  • Very nice dynamics in all your interpretations!!!!

  • very good. bravo

  • Wow. Simply gorgeous playing. Was denken Sie? Diese Interpretation vorschlagt nicht.

  • Great! Where did the concert take place?

  • Hochschule für Musik und Theater München (University of Music and Performing Arts Munich)

  • Mr. Romanov,

I'm truly amazed at how excellent your interpretations are. If possible, would you be willing to recive a PDF containing a lesser-known transcription by V. Horowitz, for a possible future performance?

  • i think you should sent him a private message ...

  • I didn't say which one it was, did I?

    That's for the private letter.

  • Absolutely brilliant.. great interpretation and very good technique..... congratulation

  • very good!

  • Your playing is so inspiring.

  • wonderful

  • Well done!

  • beautiful playing. thank you for this.
