  • beautiful

  • im just wondering... why buy $8.00 per gallon race gas instead of just setting the car up for methanol?... its only like $3 something per gallon

  • Well for one you cant use nitrous on methanol. 2 i like to drive it to town time to time and methanol will just burn your eyes out at the red light and everyone else thats behind you. and 3 love the sweet smell of racing gas.

  • You can use nitrous on methanol my buddies do it every weekend drag racing, You burn more than twice as much methanol than racing gas so it almost works out. If you are using it only for racing you are right, it's not a bad idea.

  • @hotrodpc383 hmm, if you cant use nitrous with methanol, then why would the nitrous companies make solenoids for methanol? or why not use a seperate fuel enrichment system for the nitrous? just thinking out loud...

  • And because it also burns A LOT faster than gas does!!!! So even though it is cheaper per gallon, you will be at the gas pump a lot more often! ;)

  • Just figured it was a race only vehicle being 14:1... makes sense now

  • @JamesB437 Methanol also burns at a 5-6 - 1 ratio.... To gas's 10.5-14.7 ratio, So, you would use a equal amount of cash to fill the tank either way for same distance driven.

Fuel Engine Air Flow (cfm) lbs of air (lbs) A/F Ratio Pounds of Fuel (lbs) Energy Content of Fuel (BTU/lb) Total Thermal Energy (BTU)

    Gasoline 567.53 42.64 12.8:1 2.89 18,500 53,176

    Methanol 567.53 42.64 6.0:1 7.11 9,500 67,545

    Nitromethane 567.53 42.64 1.7:1 25.08 5,000 125,412

  • @JamesB437 The price difference is obvious, but methanol requires methanol carburetors which change the air to fuel mixture because alcohol requires less atmospheric oxygen to burn therefore more fuel is crammed into the cylinder per cycle. In essence it uses more fuel.

  • man i love tht heart beat

  • Do ya like the gear drive? or does it drive ya crazy on long trips?

  • I like it. I dont get to drive it far this is a 14.1 race gas at $8.00 a gallon so you dont go far lol

  • whats that squealing?

  • Pete Jackson gear drive

  • Gear drive resonates to many crankshaft vibrations through the valve train.

  • I just put together a 355 with a PJ gear drive and i took it off after the second time i fired the car because it was so f-ing annoying, just sounds like it's eating hp you know.

  • Nice ride!
