  • 'small bottomed girl'?

    'my nose is twitching'?

    Gotta love those lyrics XD

  • Cutey honey is older than Sailor Moon, they re released it like 10 times

  • where I can find this version of cutie honey?

  • So this is the version that replaces Sailor Moon. If I like Sailor Moon, will I like this too? It looks good, I want to try. (I wonder how this compares to the sexier versions...)

  • 1:28 Sesshomaru?! O_O

  • @sugarpunch18 I know ringt?!

  • This was the only version of Cutie Honey with an actual plot to accompany that flank.

  • I lke the new one better, sounds more fun~

  • Well, the animation studio and art style are from the same people responsible for the Sailor Moon anime, so no wonder.

  • Honey cutie looks like sailor moon O_o

  • @AnimeFr3aK0001 Hmmm, actually Sailor moon looks like Cutie honey, but nevermind xD

  • omg im so impressed!

  • a very good show :D i like it so much :D

  • their eyes look liek sailro moon!

  • @luckygirl22100 i would thumbs up if you knew how to spell "like"

  • @cookieheart100 well sorry i type so fast i do that sometimes T.T

  • @luckygirl22100 Sailor Moon looks like Cutie Honey

  • @luckygirl22100 Since Toei Animation animated them both. Chances are, this is what the animation department at Toei who produced Sailor Moon did, after the series ended.

  • @luckygirl22100 is from the same company when sailor moon over

  • @fabzt10 this cutey honey was atually before sailor moon i thhink

  • @smfandub Actually it was after, they aired Cutey Honey Flash after Sailor Stars ended. This show took the timeslot sailor moon left. Of course the original Cutey Honey did air before sailor moon but it was more of a mecha anime than a magical girl anime.

  • not shoujo , seinen C:

  • I can't belive they don't make anime with this kind of art now days *sigh* everything is blocky that it hurts the eyes.

  • This has Shoujo written all over

  • I miss the cloth tearing and boob censoring opening with this one.

  • ....I don't know Japanese but I know the words, watched the openings wayyy too many times

  • I guess they made this one a cleaner version because it was destined to a younger audiance? Personally, I like it better that way. Gee, I'm a perv but when I want to see nudity/sexy things, I just go get it "somewhere else" kthsnksbai.

  • Defiantly like sailor moon :D

  • @ SpecialtyCookware

Actually, you can find gag sequences in Go Nagai's work where the male protagonists' clothes are shredded by the antagonists. It's all part of "Naked People are Funny" humor.

Plus, it looks like Baron Ashura must now have an obligatory shower scene in all anime-Mazinger remakes. So much for a double standard when we get a two for one "special".

  • I loved Sailor Moon--gotta watch this now! <3

  • I believe the company that made this animation is the same (same animators) as Sailor Moon, hence the artwork similarity. I watched this when I was little about in 1997. If you think this is not for children (it was clearly a children's anime here in Japan, especially this one), you are just too conservative.

  • my favorite incarnation of the series! it was so fun to see it sort of turned on its head like this.

  • why does this have a sailor moon style calling out to me XD

  • @Kizame777 Cause this version of Cutey Honey was done by the same animation crew that did Sailor Stars. Even took over Sailor Moon's old time slot when it ended if I recall correctly.

  • I only like this version of Cutey Honey.

  • I have a question

Is it good to start watching Cutey Honey F before watching the original versions? it's because I might not understand what's going on. Is it like watching Sailor Moon S before R?

  • @BohemianBebop why? it's not like his best works were giant robots. his first success was a comedy manga, Harenchi Gakuen. if you don't like cutie honey that's fine, but cutie honey is no way boring. in fact his most boring work is probably the grendizer manga, a ROBOT MANGA.

  • @BohemianBebop what are you talking about? this was one of the best moment in the manga. also, when she attacks a dude for his food while naked. it's totally go nagai, it's totally awesome.

  • music kind of reminds me of revenge of metaknight from kirby superstar ultra

  • Hooneey FLUSH

  • Honey is the one magical girl that I didn't think, "My friends recognize me when I change clothes..." about. ^_^

  • As a Sailormoon fan I used to love CHFlash. The animation looks exactly like in Sailorstars (SM final season) and the transformations have a sailormoon(ish) feeling to them. Love it :)

  • they mean flash in this anime

  • i don't get why in japan its an adult anime and here it is a child anime..xD

  • Cutey Honey Flash started right after the final episode of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, and in fact, took over its old time slot. They most likely gave it a more magical girl-esque look to try and grab a piece of Sailor Moon's pie.

And for the record, I don't consider the original 1970s Cutey Honey to be a magical girl anime, seeing as how she was an android in that incarnation. For most fans, the first TRUE magical girl anime was Magical Princess Minky Momo.

  • @BluntmanEXE I thought Himitsu no Akko-chan(secret Akko-Chan) was the first Magical girl series I thought Princess Minky Momo came after Only reason I say that is because Akkochan-was 1960 and Momo was 1962....but I could be wrong though Im always getting years mixed up

  • @peteyboy009 Well, when I say TRUE magical girl series, I mean that Minky Momo was the series that first cemented the genre. But if you wanna be technical, the VERY first magical girl series was Mahou Tsukai Sally back in the 1950s.

  • @BluntmanEXE Oh yeah I forgot about Sally thanks

  • @BluntmanEXE Actually, the 1966 anime 'Mahou Tsukai Sally' (Sally the Witch/Magic User Sally/Magical Witch Sally/etc.) was the first magical girl anime.

  • @BluntmanEXE wait!!!!! i think it was a magical girl since she was still a girl even if she wasnt humAN. and the first maho shojo anime was Sally, the witch

  • @BluntmanEXE I may be completely wrong on this (and if I am than feel free to correct me), but wasn't Cutie Honey made by the same people who made Sailor Moon.

  • @AnExistanceOfNothing

This incarnation of Cutie Honey was but the origional version from the 70's was made by Go Nagai the creator of Mazinger Z and Devilman.

  • @BluntmanEXE Actually the first Magical Girl anime is Sally the Witch from 1966.

  • @BluntmanEXE No one cares fag

  • @wafflesan1 The 29 thumbs-up beg to differ. Go away.

  • The first anime, aired in 1973, is considered a magical girl series in retrospect.

  • @kevinkakaka cutey honey was made int he 70's I believe

  • @kevinkakaka omg... that's totally not a coincidence and has to be an underlying tone/message that the author wanted to include =) it's probably to show that women are capable of defending themselves =) woot (total liberal feminist XD )

  • Was this made by Toei Animation in 1971?

  • @MegaPinkprincess101 no i think this was made in the late 80s

  • aww, no devilman in this op

  • Why is "pervertedness" a bad thing? People need to stop demonizing the stuff. It's perfectly healthy and awesome. I say this as an older, mature and in a relationship where sex is explored, not filthy. It's nice to see a "cleaner" intro from Cutey Honey, but it's also a hell of a lot more generic.

  • @strikerk

Are you a man? because a lot of the pervertedness you call "okay" can actually be really derogatory to women.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cutie Honey, but some people forget to separate fantasy and real life and just end up sounding sexist.

  • @SpecialtyCookware Perspective is a tricky thing. I offered my own. Gender has little to do with it, since Cutey Honey is appreciated by a myriad of people of all ages and genders. Hell look at all the female artists on DeviantArt that draw her. It's always a perspective thing, anything 'offensive' can be perceived as such. Violence, sex, drugs and other taboo subjects will always draw the ire of those that focus on their own insecure thoughts on a topic that is inherently without malice.

  • @strikerk

I didn't say offensive, I said derogatory. I'm sure half the people that enjoy cutey honey wouldn't be at all interested if there was a man in her place. I'm not berating anyone for enjoying the show, but any character whose clothes are ripped off against their will on a regular basis would be filing several lawsuits in real life. Pervertedness is okay so long as- as I said before- people don't assume it to be acceptable in the real world.

  • @strikerk I think that was the main reason they did it "generic". So it can be generic, obviously.

  • @strikerk Go ask Ken!

  • @strikerk Perversion is generally discouraged for several reasons. Voyeurism for example may cause objectification (degradation) if the other party is unwilling. Additionally, if the other party is willing, it may stem from a draw to degradation due to past emotional harm. Finally, Voyeurism can be habit forming, causing the act to spread from the willing to the unwilling. Sexuality is too complex to be all out or completely repressed, and most often is decided on consent and sexual maturity.

  • @strikerk Perversion in media is normally discouraged for two reasons. One, according to psychology, children in sexual development are to go on a sort of quest (stay with me here) to develop and discover sexual aspects. If they can find it easily, like internet porn, this may discourage seeking the real thing. Also, they may suffer a sort of shock if the change happens to quickly. Second, if someone gets used to watching a person like this, the act may slip into other aspects of their lives.

  • @strikerk Also, (and this is more my opinion) a form of media, such as a show, that focuses on sexual matters too much may sacrifice plot or proper story elements, ultimately diminishing the value by opting for a more simplistic form of entertainment that seeks to please superficially, rather than something more compelling that may satisfy a more complex pallet. I have seen many a good show give up half way through on a fantastic idea and fan service their way to easy DVD sales.

  • @AnExistanceOfNothing When it comes to adult media~ yes, at times the adult content can supercede the story, however when it comes to hentai... even the most depraved adult media can have deeper overtones than regular pornographic material. Also, what you consider superficial can still be relatively intense of memorable to others~ so try not to judge what doesn't appeal to you too harshly by calling it simplistic. Some shows DO falter on their balance, but Cutie Honey isn't one of them. :)

  • @strikerk I didn't mean to appear judgmental. As I said above I was merely stating a preference that others have every right to disagree with and how some (not all) things are ruined because it's easier to undress an attractive girl (superficial entertainment) than write a decent script (captivating entertainment). I was talking about regular content drowning itself in T and A, not how adult content lacks plot. Also, isn't hentai more often watched for the pornographic aspect than the plot?

  • @AnExistanceOfNothing Regular pornography perhaps~ but I have a preference for anime adult media because they offer context for with. When you're young, or just want a quick fix I suppose it doesn't matter~ but most intelligent people enjoy context with their adult media. Having the sexual content surround a heroine, a villain~ some kind of drama that makes it more tragic, emotional or meaningful is the reason erotica, manga and other sources of adult media are so popular. <3

  • @strikerk Well actually (again, feel free to disagree), manga was originally created and gained popularity for its ability to easily portray scenes and acts that couldn't exactly be recreated well in reality for various reasons (cost, willingness of actors, impracticality of some aspects, etc.). I imagine erotica may have similar backgrounds. Honestly, it always appeared to me that the story of hentai only served as a means set up the sexual portion or focus on the viewer's fantasy.

  • well the lyrics are basicly talking about honey and her body

  • @starsora1 The song is flirting with her. Odd considering the singer is a woman. The original anime's ending song is a sad one consoling her.

  • @MrMarvel323 It's not all that weird. In the manga she went to school full of lesbians who all wanted a piece of her.

  • who sing the theme????

  • reminds me of sailor moon

  • @kirayiyi I know, right. I think I might have read somewhere that Cutie Honey Flash took over the Sailor Moon timeslot when the series ended, (in Japan).

  • ... the lyrics are FREAKINg disturbing... sounds like... someone is sexually assaulted... think about it...

darn forensic science and criminal psychology courses ==

  • @Marindo

    watch?v=_A0thT8XTHI

when they say Iya yo Iya you iya yo mitsumecha Iya~

(meaning no no no dont look at me~)

    i think you'll understand ._.

  • @kindlady3 =D thanks for clearing it up lol

  • same as sailormoon !!!

  • Moontheblueneko@ the anime is cutie honey flash the red haired girl and the blond girl do have a connection but not sexually that blond girl is that red haired girl he blondes name is honey kisaragi the red haired cutie honey you see honey kisargi can change into any person in the world she wants to using the chocker on her neck using the words honey flash for more info google cutie honey ok

  • what is the anime and who is the red head hair with the sword and whats her relation to the blond girl I'm kind of.. confused? XD is that Yuri implications or somthing

  • @Moontheblueneko They are the same person. It's like Clark Kent and Superman, or Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana, or other famous characters with double lifes. She shouts HONEY FLASH to change Cutie Honey. I hope that made things clearer.

  • cutieee muito cuteee fofa aiiin :3

  • Is it just me or does the opening look similar to Sailor Moon openings?

  • @IceChateau777 This show actually replaced Sailor Moon in the same timeslot once Sailor Moon ended.

  • @IceChateau777 Well this version of the show was meant to cash in on the Sailor Moon craze in the 90s in Japan even though the show was originally meant for boys back in the 70s. I'm just shocked that they actually kept the same characer designs.

  • @EdwardElric555 The original Cutey Honey was an android. This version pretty much changes everything. I think Re Cutey Honey was the best revival.

  • @IceChateau777

I think Cutey Honey has the right to have a simuler opening, besides cutey honey has been around longer & not to forget the same animators who worked on SM also worked on this.

  • is it just me or does this look like sailormoon, even the logo design too.

  • @seraphreborn From what I remember the same animation team worked on both.

  • @seraphreborn The animators that did Sailor Moon also did Cutie Honey.

  • @Siyaenna You noticed!

  • @seraphreborn sailor moon is the original magical girl anime so this might have some similarities

  • @seraphreborn

though this show is way older than sailor moon

  • @seraphreborn u mean the other way round, coz Cutie Honey was the very first ;3

  • @seraphreborn Cutey Honey Flash was animated by the same people who animated Sailor Moon.

  • @seraphreborn Cutie Honey is from 1970, much more older than Sailor moon, its quite the oposite, Sailor moon remembers Cutie Honey...

  • @seraphreborn thats cause every single "tranformation" anime is based on sailor moon

  • @seraphreborn Trust me when I say this: Not the same creator.

  • I wonder how many version this anime have...

  • @seraphreborn it has most of the staff that worked on sailor stars so no it looks like sailor moon to me too xD

  • @seraphreborn after sailor stars (sailor moon's final arc), ended, the people who made cutey honey flash had almost all the staff from sailor stars, and it replaced sailor stars' timeslot on tv, as well. there ya have it

  • @seraphreborn The blonde is like Venus :O

  • @HotaruWaffle101 hahaha true

  • @seraphreborn Sailor moon was actually inspired from Cutey Honey. Go Nagia's work came first; Cutey Honey originally came out in 1973.

  • @seraphreborn

this version was made by the same people with Sailor Moon.

  • @seraphreborn It was the designer of Sailormoon that did the animation for this Cuety Honey anime.

  • @seraphreborn That's the same thing i thought!

  • @seraphreborn Very perceptive. Flash was shoujo themed and it's target demographic were tween and teen-aged girls.
