sorry aber die art "fass" zu üben ist nicht die effektievste. wenn du/ihr trainiert das er in den eigenen arm beißt wär des im ernstfall leicht unpraktisch. vlt. nen netten und angstfreien nachbarn oder so zuhilfe nehmen um zu trainieren. sonst wirklich ein prima hund!

I have a ridgeback too. He acts the same, and sleeps the same. HAHA I love ridgebacks, they are very onest dogs and loyal.

i would watch...dont praise dominant behaviour in a RR...your asking for trouble..fab bread x but dumb owners will give them a bad name :o( Espesh with bitches..they can be very high strung x love them for it..but dont let them know that!!!

no not normally..the usual for big dogs hip problem but this type of dog is not for everyone very stubborn breed,more than health concerns! Artus is super,she has spent alot of time with Artus! Rhodesians are a great!

well,this breed is from Africa strictly used for lion hunting..they go out in packs to track and and keep the lion irritated and at bay until the hunter gets there to shoot the lion.they are fearless and will go up against anything if its a threat.not that they are aggressive.

also check out Rhodesian Ridgeback bodyguard.. its on this page in related videos..this is a perfect example of what the breed does. this poodle is barking and snapping at this RR pup to get a cat watch the pups body movement..it clearly shows i am not aggressive but im guarding!

I have a ridgeback mix rescue dog. Truely one of the best pets I have ever owned. great with our five cats and a really good, non-aggressive watch dog

I can not speak highly enough of these dogs. They were great with me when I was a kid. I never go hurt, never felt unsafe and she would adjust her play style accordingly between my dad and me (I was 8). You dont treat them like a normal big dog. It wont work. You have to treat them almost like a person...they are just that smart. The biggest problem...they are just so dam big and so imposing, you feel like saying excuse me when you have to walk past them to get to the kitchen or where ever :)

Wow. I don't think this is responsible pet ownership. Creating an aggressive dog just makes it harder for the rest of us who have dogs and allow non-pet owners put restrictions on the kind of breed people can own. It's cruel to the dog as well.

As a Ridgeback owner I am disgusted.

They are not aggressive :) Also, what this owner has done is trained the dog to such an extent that he sees the owner as the boss. Oh and they do growl and bark and make all sorts of sounds when they play. They try to talk to you as well.

My dad trained ours the same and (as i mentioned above) never had a single problem with our big girl.

Our one used to play with dumbbells like smaller dogs play with tennis balls :D Not good on a wooden floor.

this is a new breed to me. only seen one in real life twice. big powerful looking and beautiful. they must be of hunter background. i would love to see one in a wild boar hunt alongside an american bulldog

ridgebacks are awesome dogs. as loyal as they come. Artus reminds me so much of IGOR, who passed away last february at the age of 11. miss you my boy very much!! RIP. my luv forever.

ridgies are the best dogs ever! My boy Deus (day-oos) is the biggest lover lap dog and so energetic and well mannered and smart. He's always the sexiest dog at the park! He runs around and barks just like Artus! Very gorgeous dog!

awesome i had a Rhodesian Ridgeback and he was so sweet to me but he never lyked it when people would come around me he would try to attack them lol he use to chase the neighborhood kids he was huge but really a big baby

Aw! I have a wonderful ridgeback myself and could really appreciate the opening "nose" close up. and i laughed when i saw his taped ear... b/c my dog has the same from shaking his head too much!

ive got a 8 week old ridgeback and i am concerned because the the last 2 days he has been scratching his ears and shaking his head like crazy. will take him to the vet anyway but is this normal with large ears? i thought he might have something stuck in there but cant see anything.
