This can't really be described as a Tamil variant. Its just the director/ film makers take on the Puranic story. it happens a lot in Tamil devotional films, the filmmakers portray the gods and stories as they see it which isnt always accurate. Parvati is also portyd with green skin symbolic of youthfullness and everlasting freshness of the mind, much like the way in which Vishnu is portryd with blue skin.

first of all shiv will never talk to his beloved sati in that way. moreover sati never returned to kailas after daksh's insult. Shiv actually became inraged when he saw nandi returned to kailash without sati he sent bhadrabheej to destroy the cursed yaghna & avenge sati's death. then he did mahapralaya tandav with sati's body. only by vishnu's intervention the end of the universe was stalled. It's not crap. It's just very different from any version of the story I've ever read or heard. It seems South Indians have their own distinct tales featuring the pantheon.
You should read the Balkaand of Ramayan or the Shiv Puran to learn the facts. Mahadev loved Sati like anything. After her death he carried her corpse on his shoulders like a mad person. His pain can't be described.

Mahadev has taught the world to respect women and this is portraying him just against that. He is the most gentle and soft hearted person.

However, the video manufacturer Priya took it upon themselves to dub some other South Indian films into Hindi in the early 2000s and the result was appalling since they didn't have access to the original background score. Moreover, the voice-over artists and playback singers are terrible

This is symbolism about how the world was made. I see this now. What Shiva was is the element fire, and destruction on the earth when it was forming. The symbol of his wife is Liquid water. When he "killed" her, (fire)danced on the earth and chaos reigned. But after a while order was restored (see his hair) when his wife was resurrected she was liquid water formed again with his cooling. HER new form this time with life within (the green color she took on).They r 4ever bound H2O +o2 for fire.

This can't really be described as a Tamil variant. Its just the director/ film makers take on the Puranic story. it happens a lot in Tamil devotional films, the filmmakers portray the gods and stories as they see it which isnt always accurate. Parvati is also portyd with green skin symbolic of youthfullness and everlasting freshness of the mind, much like the way in which Vishnu is portryd with blue skin.

In the real story, Shivan takes the rudra form and dances for millenias...before resurrecting Shakti...but one mut understand that all these stories are meant to convey a useful message because in the end, Hinduism i.e Sanathana Dharma advocates in the existence of ONE GOD>>..btw, the msg of this story is on the equality of Male/female and also to say that God has no gender...

first of all shiv will never talk to his beloved sati in that way. moreover sati never returned to kailas after daksh's insult. Shiv actually became inraged when he saw nandi returned to kailash without sati he sent bhadrabheej to destroy the cursed yaghna & avenge sati's death. then he did mahapralaya tandav with sati's body. only by vishnu's intervention the end of the universe was stalled. FYI shiv always said he and sati were two bodies but one soul!!!!! har har mahadev.

oh and please do not insult all tamils just because of the misrepresentations made by some people... We follow the shaivagamas and we pray to the shiva who has no begining no end, who is all encompassing and omnipresent and is praised by the vedas, puranas and itihasas. I think its really inappropriate for a shaiva to insult other schools of thought when we all follow the same santana dharma. Besides, a mark of a true hindu is the ability to discern.

Sorry, i just have to clarify something. THIS IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SAIVA SIDDHANDA SCHOOL OF THOUGHT. This is some concoction by the tamil film industry. We tamil shaivas worship shiva together with shakti as ardhanarishwara and deem them to be the inseparable divine couple. This movie is inaccurate, preposterous and definitely not representative of the Shaiva Siddhantha school of thought which is what Tamil Shaivas follow. In any case, isn't shiva killing shakti like self mutilation???

You should read the Balkaand of Ramayan or the Shiv Puran to learn the facts. Mahadev loved Sati like anything. After her death he carried her corpse on his shoulders like a mad person. His pain can't be described.
The video shows Shiv and Sati fighting over who is superior, which is just ridiculous. Shiv and Sati are one.
Mahadev has taught the world to respect women and this is portraying him just against that. He is the most gentle and soft hearted person.

If the movies were dubbed by the production company itself at the time of filming (like in the case of Sita Swayamvar, Alakh Niranjan, Jai Jagat Janani or Veer Arjun), the result was a rather well-produced film. However, the video manufacturer Priya took it upon themselves to dub some other South Indian films into Hindi in the early 2000s and the result was appalling since they didn't have access to the original background score. Moreover, the voice-over artists and playback singers are terrible
