  • Excellent video! Excellent song! Fantastic work! Bravo CD!!

  • It's my favorite number from the album, and I'd say —my favorite one from all the music of EJ

  • Oh, Cracker....I know the album well. I think I was about 13 when it came out an I memorized every song, every word. Perhaps one of the greatest albums ever....every song is classic and some obscure..I love "Harmony".

  • One of my Elton favourites!! Just love this song, and the rest of the album.

  • another of his best but little known songs from a less popular album, still great music from ej

  • @petere1959 From a less popular album? Man, are you way off base. GYBR is Elton's MOST popular album he ever made. And his best, And biggest selling album, with over 15 million copies sold. He never got this good again.

  • BARBIE COME BACK!!! @ 5:48

  • This is so great even Guns N' Roses gave Elton John/Bernie Taupin a songwriting credit for 'You Could Be Mine'

  • thumbs up if "goodbye yellow brick road" album is your favourite!

  • Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, a double album, is my favorite Elton album. Every song is so strong. This man of great talent, was at his absolute peak at that time.

  • Great job ! Man were getting old..haha

  • An Excellent Video to an Excellent Song...one of the best on YouTube,,,

  • Great video to a truly fantastic song which has soooooo many memories for me. I want it played at my funeral, Its so amazing. Thanks Elton and Bernie, one of your masterpieces.

  • One of my favorites by Elton John. Incredible song.

  • Fantastic video to go with a great song and a fabulous ending to it. This was one of those rare LP's where you could listen to all four sides and enjoy the whole thing!

  • @Mechanic1307 Yea, I got so absorbed in this album one rainy night on I-10, I missed 2 exits!!

  • @roehmig Now that's funny! Soundslike some I could do. A true music lover!

  • Great job on this. Again one of Eltons best off yellow brick road but seems to get overlooked. thank you for posting.

  • sorry - i know this is an old thread - but cracking job!!

  • Sir Elton's best

  • Love can be a nail and it hurts when the hammer strikes it.The hammer is the heavy and doesn't who it hurts. The nail is the end result.

  • Love can be a nail and it hurts when the hammer strikes it

  • Classic!!!! Enough said

  • AMEN !

  • I've used to listen to this song late after midnight trying to see what went wrong and guess I've never found it out.

  • Elton & Bernie's best work, a little-known song from one of the best albums of all time. Wonderful.

  • I love this. I bought this album back in '73 and have loved it ever since. Keep up the good work Elton.

  • This is my absolute favorite Elton John song of all. I've loved it for decades. Thanks for posting

  • Excellent! Very well done! I've loved this song for over 30 years.

  • "The one where the players are acting surprised...saying Love's just a four letter word"....Brilliant. Love the lyrics...Elton John is incredible!!!

  • still sounds good...the atmosphere of these recordings were great....from these sessions....

  • Wonderful song, one of his less-known though unfortunately. Brilliant video :-)

  • i brought this album in canada when it first came out . I wore out all 4 sides n had to buy another copy ej is the man!

  • F flat minor....ohhh i love this song

  • Well done, very fitting video. Beautiful poetry and music.

  • Your vids are brilliant. I'm spitting envious. Thanks so much for creating these.

  • This song is so true.........

  • Great song,great guitar solo,fabulous song!!!

  • And the emotion he sings this song with, he really gets down and blusey for his youth at the time. GAWD!

  • Brilliance, when Sir Elton was in his 20's. He wrote this whole album's music within 2 months.

  • @weottertalk He is actually quoted as saying that it took him TWO DAYS to write the album as he was stuck in a hotel room in Jamaica too scared to come out because of the heavy atmosphere on the streets at the time. Amazing what fear can do. Perhaps he should've been scared more often! Still a genius.

  • This was my favorite album as a child and I was born in 1967.discovered in 1974 when candle in the wind carried every radio station period. This song is incrediable and the album will never be outdone. The hits overshadowed so many songs but really every song brilliant. You will never again find a CD with 17 songs with more hits and musical genious.I was blessed to live it and still today applaud it

  • how come no one's done a cover of this on youtube?

    i love this song.

  • Best song off Yellow Brick Road :)

    Thank You :)

  • You're absolutely correct. It is the best song off Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and a candidate for the best song of the 1970s.

  • Agreed.

  • And it's from "The Twilight Zone" The Sixteen Millimeter Shrine (1959)

  • The actress is not Greer Garson -- it's Ida Lupino --

  • Don't know the name of the movie but the actress is Greer Garson. Very meloncoly film and song. Touche'!

  • This song is deservedly featured in the book 'The Song For Today' by Jimmie Oliver.

  • I agree with muzzleflash7 , along with "song for guy"

  • What movie is that in the video?

  • The best song and album : Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - 1973

  • This is the best album Bernie and Elton produced during their career. Thanks!

  • well in the right environment you can be creative....as such try to make that andd all your percetion changes

    perception changes everything

  • This song is so good, it gives me a stiffie ;)

  • What a song...what an album...

  • @tmag5309 the yellow brick road tmag

  • When she drives her high heel through your heart...you hear this!

    Don't get a flu shot!

    Don't take Tamiflu!

  • Elton has been the King/Queen since 1971~

  • Perhaps his best song. Piano paints a colorful

    picture

  • I agree, along with "song for guy"

  • been there

  • nice use of a twighlight zone episode and this song.... good stuff

  • Elton's finest song

  • Cole-Already responded once but this is still one of the best vids out there!! Thanks

  • Thanx again, buffalo729. It's always good to have repeat business :D

  • A song that we all forgot, well done with the pictures.

  • It's amazing how we all forgot this song. blame DJs an music critics who always pick up on the wrong songs. 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' and 'Candle In The Wind' are not in the same league as this epic, yet everyone focuses on them. This is a bad mistake, to ignore valuable gems in favour of the bandagon-jumpers' choice.

  • What a fantastic job. Image and song. All the hair im my arms went up in the end.

    Simply fantastica

  • Nice touch. My guess is that might be a Alfred Hitchcock work. Classic cinema and awesome music, dosen't get any better!

  • DAMN good musician!

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Oh how I love this song!

  • You have good taste. A very haunting song for me since I bought GYBR back in '73

  • Absolutely love the guitar solo on this one! I remember when this album came out and I nearly wore the vinyl out listening to it over and over again. A true classic.

  • My my my....Dad gummit that was a good album Elton and Bernie...you never topped it...absolute masterpiece.

  • One of EJ's best!

  • The tune, The show...

    bitter understatement...

  • seriously underated song.

  • Excellent!!

  • What is the name of the "..Zone" episode? I have seen it, but can't fully remember.

  • 16mm Shrine

  • Thanks!

  • I just finished listening to the album and of course, thought I'd see what was here for one of my all time favorite songs, ever.

What I find is actually one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes beautifully interwoven with this great song.

This is good, real good. Hats off to you, my friend.

  • Thanx, SqueezeThis! Gotta love when two great things come together.

  • Great song.

  • Red, this ones for you.

  • Does the musical part of this song remind you of Serge Gainsbourg?

  • Amazing the story this Twilight Zone episode turns this song into. Makes it that much sadder. Really creates a feeling. Thanks for the Awesome job.

  • You're welcome and thank you too. ;)

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Sad but beautiful. Great Elton.

  • Elton is one with the piano. The instrumental stretch toward the end - sad guitar & strings - gives goosebumps! So beautiful! :)

  • This was actually one of the episodes i saw...

  • Another great piece of work.

  • Thanx

  • Twilight Zone Episode?

  • 16mm Shrine

  • Thanx for the feedback. Such a sentimental post.

  • I love this song.. I think it may be the best Elton/Bernie song of all.. We have all been in that frame of mind. having to read people to protect yourself.. 'Sweet Painted Lady" is also great. Remeinds me of my port calls in the Med , US Navy 1072-73..

  • Thanx g2no2000, aways good to be appreciated on repeats :D

  • very nice!!! high five!!

  • Are there any Serge Gainsbourg influences in this song?

  • IMO: Not enough sexual innuendo's or double intandras to be a Gainsbourg influence. ;)

  • I mean was this song musically influenced by Serge Gainsbourg?

  • Gracias, danzadordejardin. En las palabras de Elton, las canciones tristes dicen tanto ;)

  • una de las canciones mas tristes y mas grandes

  • Thanks for posting :)

  • Love this song!

  • I'll 2nd that!

  • You are really getting great at this!!!!

  • Thanks :D

  • thank you . any way it is a masterpicec!! pleace come and see my videos in my user. and i hope that "this song has no title" will come faster as you can.

  • Could you please do one for "this song has no title"(studio version)?

  • Well, yes I could, DorYakov, and thanks for requesting it. I have a couple of prior requests ahead of you, but I'll get to it soon.

  • Fantastic !!!

  • ohhh yeahhh me too. Elton John at his best.

I love the reversed guitar in this. If you play it backwards it's pretty cool.

Thanks! This is such a keeper.

  • Thanks for vid to go along with the song. Great memories for me too - in fact taught this one to my son on piano - I'll share this with him as he's never heard Elton sing it (I only have it on vinyl which just won't play in his mp3 player...)

  • Good song to teach your son, Jake. Hopefully he still knows how to play it :D Glad you enjoyed this one too.

  • jakedasnake004.

Yeah vinyl dont play that good on mp3 players , yellow brick road was the first LP I ever bought on vinyl as I fancied the girl in the music section in Woolies , turned out to be best LP I have ever bought since and I went on to marry this girl .

    Harrisole.

  • one of my all time favourite elton songs , brings back some really nice memories , keith

  • Thanks, Keith. Always good to bring back memories - especially the good ones!

  • what's the movie's name??? tell me a little about it... thanks... By the way, I'm from Brazil...

  • Twilight Zone - 16mm Shrine. An aging starlett longs to return to her youth and past glory days where she was the toast of Hollywood. Now a hasbeen, she receives a 2nd chance ... in the Twilight Zone.

  • Ida Lupino had one of the best memorable screams I've seen on TV or film, when she sees her on the screen.
