This is wonderful to hear. Thank you for uploading it. She is a fine singer. I played the final scene of Don Quichotte with Chaliapin for a group of opera fans when Seattle did it. They were impressed of course but everybody loved Olive at the end!
@CurzonRoad I hear the entire interview is at Syracuse University. I've sent Larry Holdridge contact info for the guy there that just may be able to make a copy available. I'm hoping! :)
This is great! Absolutely great. Her observations are spot-on, (especially about the great and the near-great) and it is actually so refreshing to hear somebody from those days talk in a sensible and "non-correct" way about smoking and drinking. Boy,do I get tired of all the tedious correctnesses of our time. Sounds like a very likeable character! Thanks a lot for this!
Extremely interesting and a very valuable archive. It is so important to make recordings isn' it but how many of us do ?! Very many thanks for sharing.

So glad you made this Olive Kline post. I first heard her on the Chaliapin record of Don Quichotte's farewell.
