Robert Powell es para mi la mejor interpretacion de Jesus solo miren su rostro acaso no les inspira una Paz en su interior uno se imagina a Jesus y se queda con esa cara esa imagen
Man oh man............. I am a Christian and I have to tell you there is a reason why he played Christ.......... the Lord Himself showed me His face............ and the Lords face looks just like Powells did in that movie. I swear on my life to that.
@genesis6mythology Isaiah 53:3. But to be fair, this verse could be seen in many different ways. And also I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I dont see how Robert Powell could ever b same after the power of God was so strong on him in Jesus Of Nazareth .he just like every other person now after this one time anointed movie >Jesus Of Nazareth.
I understand what you mean aalexmary, but when people watched the Jesus of Nazareth, they were not seeing Robert Powell as an actor, his face was the only face that made all christians and even non-christians to visualize Jesus. But yeah ur right i guess
Thank you, Throatcutter. Anyway, I want to add one more thing. Powells amazing beauty in Jesus of Nazareth is given by the role he played, because Lord Jesus is wonderful and amazing and the Holy Spirit was present in this movie. The beauty of our Lord was present (I mean beauty with a spiritual component). Thats how he succeeded this amazing portrayal of Lord Jesus. Another successful portrayal of Lord Jesus is the one from the Gospel of John. Blessings!
throatcutter, let's presume that Robert Powell would have stopped acting after Jesus of Nazareth. How would have he ensured his livelihood? He is an actor, after all. Acting is his profession.
If you look at it, there is a type of worldly rejection of actors who portray Christ in a true way. James Caviezel? Hollywood and British entertainment reject that type of truth. From the actors up to the real money people....executive producers etc.
But portray Christ having sex or like the Last Temptation....all of a sudden the makers of such movies are revered and admired and put up on pedestals.
You tell me the entity that controls these worldy institutions.
You are right, bronco. I tried to see the Last temptation of Christ and I gave up after one minute. I had the feeling that I am being brainwashed. The person depicted in that sick movie could be anyone, but not Lord Jesus. Money rules this world and you know and I know very well what entity rules a part of this world. But I dont want to mention it. It has no power over me, because my Master is Lord Jesus. God bless you!
I will say this though. It is difficult for me to se him as anything other Jesus. Meaning, the movie was so profound for me when I was a child, that every time I see him I kind of freak out in a way. Although lets face it, I doubt very seriously Jesus had blue eyes and looked like an Englishmen.
But he played it so well, that to me he was Jesus.
Same goes now for Caviezel. There is no doubt the Holy Spirit moved through them. no doubt.
Yes, bronco, they were guided by the Holy Spirit. Jesus of Nazareth, the Gospel of John and The Passion of Christ are blessed movies. It has no importance how Lord Jesus really looked like. It is important what He did for us. He saved us from hell. Glory to Him eternally. Blessings!
True, it is the essence that Robert Powell really tapped into. An unlike The Passion, Jesus of Nazereth focused on the whole life of Christ. Where the Passion only focused on the crucifixion and resurrection.
Yes the essence of His being is what Powell captured IMO.
I am sorry that I criticized Robert Powell's presence in this serial. An actor can't live with air and with his past glory. Any person must ensure his livelihood. It is the fault of the producers, the channels and the media (a part of these entities) for promoting bad taste, awful scripts, vulgarity, violence and non-sense (I speck in general now). The producers are using great actors to promote their cheap production.
Robert Powell is such an elegant actor. A gentleman. And his performance in Jesus of Nazareth was fantastic, the eyes and the voice. What on earth is he doing in a serial with such an idiot plot?! The scrip is terrible: dark secrets in marriage, rape etc. So non - Christian. Anyway, Robert Powell remains a great actor, who succeeded the best portrayal of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.
That's the reason that Jesus preferred to go ...

I can't imagine Robert powell without the vision of Jesus of Nazareth, but, is just an actor, but what a great role in Jesus of Nazareth in 77
cirexlab 3 years ago
that clip is soooo emotional. What a waste of pure talent Robert exhibited.
Stupid stupid stupid episode and stuoid and lame story-line. "Maternity Secret" BS
rape, etc--typical UK normality.
Soooo gross and sooo under him...but perhaps not?
That show'd NEVER make it in the US. We have out problems, but we live according to and demand higher standards.
We hate secularism.
makemeanaccountnow 3 years ago
Robert's best roles were in the 70's and early 80s in Britain. Then perhaps he went wayward ...out of deperation? I cannot figure him out.
What a classic----- turned trash.
How sad.
But that is the UK for ya!
makemeanaccountnow 3 years ago
That drama, if that is drama, is soo dunb and
un-intellectual. I am surprised Robert even went for such a role; perhaps that is why is has remained "unknown" in America.
But Brits like that gossipy and trashy stuff.
I am just sad Robert came from such poor stock, did well and had sooo much promise and then fell back into the trashy stock of English drama-ery.
