its a shame about Tausch though- i mean as good as he is, why hold a tryout for Ruffer, yea he played for the schools top dorm team or something; besides to say he's more accurate than Tausch is mind boggling-- Tausch missed 3 FGs lets not nit pick to much

@irishfan84 sorry, you're right I didn't read that correctly. but i think the tryouts were held while they were having kicker problems, not during the span when tausch was on his streak. and kicking is all about the little things. if you don't nit pick, then when you have to kick the game winning field goal you won't have the best. tausch is very good, but ruffer is the best and that can make the difference between winning a bowl game or not. tausch missed 3 - ruffer missed 1.

just read that Kyle's best chances at playing his freshman year are at punter- we already have Ruffer who could have won the Groza award, and Nick Tausch who held the ND record for consecutive FGs made with 14 or 15 before, for whatever reason, the coaches felt the need to start a walk- on

@irishfan84 what are you talking about Ruffer didn't win the groza award Dan Bailey did... as far as Tausch he didn't even start because Ruffer is even more accurate at field goals than he is so Ruffer's coming back to do that. Brindza will kick off and he might punt.
